The walk is now less than a week away. Team Purple has raised $520 thus far, largely due to the generosity of the GA community. I wanted to thank everyone not just for the donations, but for the emails sharing personal stories about Trebs and the impact he had on people's lives. I think the best tribute we can give him is to try to follow his example. Thanks again, and I will try to post some pictures after the walk.

Thanks for posting that Erasure video again! I put it up originally, because my husband and I are in it for a split second, in the photo montage at the end (I'm the blonde in a red dress, with my hair in an updo). It's a great video because it's all real Erasure fans and not actors. I was thrilled to be in it, even for a tiny moment!

(Posting with moderator permission) As you know, we all suffered a great loss last week with the passing of Robert, aka Trebs after a long battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. As a longtime friend of his, I wanted to do something in memory of him, so my husband and I have decided to participate in Light The Night, which is a walk to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We will be walking in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sept. 27th. If anyone would like to contribute, either by donating or by joining the team and walking with us, it would be greatly appreciated. Robert was a caring person who was always helping others, and I feel this would be an appropriate way to honor him. I saw this last night, but was too stunned to say anything. I've known Robert for twelve years. We first met playing a game called Sims Online, and as you can imagine, he was very well liked there, so much fun to talk to, and always the first to help anyone out. Even back when he barely knew me, he gave me his phone number when I was going through a rough time. Since then, I had the pleasure of meeting him in person twice. I was also at the dinner Sharon mentioned above. Like everyone has said, he was truly a good and caring person, and gave so much to everyone else. The world doesn't see too many people like him. I love you and miss you, my friend.

I have actually met that elephant! That wildlife preserve has tours and even lets you pet some of the animals. I don't remember seeing the dog, though.

I've been participating since 2003, but have only had 2 wins - 2004 and 2011. I was planning on trying this year, too. However, I have yet to get started. That's always the hardest part for me.

I think they included musicians who have had a song on a movie soundtrack. I noticed there were writers and producers on the list, too. I also had a huge crush on Jaye Davidson.

You're almost there! I'm a couple days ahead of schedule, but not as far as you. I don't think my story will be finished at 50k, either.

I think Adam Lambert is perfect, but I have no idea who the others are, except Santa Claus, who is definitely not my type!

I'll probably give it a shot this year, although I haven't won since 2004, and the last couple years, I didn't even manage to get started.
