Always reading Storm Constantine.... get to the end then start again... Best writer and best stories IN THE WORLD But somewhat of an acquired taste... very homo erotic and quite violent
City of Glass - Cassandra Clare
Terry Pratchett
I'm loiving the layout. Still new enough not to have got too used to the old one so this is not such a head full. Fun fun fun
Thanks for all the hard work... I know what a nightmare it can be
Surprisingly enough not going to be celebrating 4th July.... I am going on a school trip.... couple of hours in a bus with a shit load of under 11's then games, limp sandwiches and warm coke... then more games then home.... cant wait
Walking is good..... anything at all that involved eating more healthily or exercising more has to be good. Don't be too hard on yourself or you are dooming yourself to fail.
You walked a lot this week.... fantasting.... Well done.
Sigh... this reminds me of the time I spend in Newfoundland a few years ago.... it was amazing. I think that Canada is a wonderful place to live.... the pace of life... the cost of living... the peolple... but why does wine have to be so damned expensive?
I would buy Bram Castle in Romania and move it brick by brick to Scotland. I would then have it fitted out with all mod cons but in the style of a gothic castle. I would hire the staff to man it and a landscape gardener to lay out gardens with cave and grottoes, secret tunnels, groves and orchards, follies and foibles.
I would need a helicopter to get there and to visit family.... the one I fancy costs about
Hehe I was only commenting to someone yesterday that a lot of the writing on here is very American. Not that this is a criticism in any way.. it is because a lot of the writers are American. The thing is that I tend to pick up things easily and I am finding a lot of Americanisms are creeping into my own writing. I was wondering whether to allow it or to actively seek to avoid it. I guess I'll just see how it goes.
Films like Hostel and Saw do nothing for me. There is nothing that one human being can do to another that shocks me any more... not in the blood and gore stakes anyway. It's the creepy, spinecrawling, don't turn around because there won't be anything there kind of thing that gets my skin crawling and stomach churning
Yeah right... I bet 'when you were younger'. My ex is 36 and he is still collecting and still playing with out son... whether he wants to or not. I'm not sure if he is still watching the programmes though.
My son is more into Yu gi oh I could paper the walls with the cards he has, I keep finding them all over the house.
Get your game on
It's sad and scary. So many of his songs colour defining moments of my life. As a teenager i was sooooo in love with him. I suppose it is a sign of getting old when your cultural icons start dying around you.
There must be a lot of it about. I broke my back in '97 and piled on the weight. I have tried dieting but not really got anywhere. Exercise is pretty much out of the question.... for a number of reasons, although I have tried to do more than I used to.... it is easy to let the dormouse take control when he has an excuse... and pain is only an excuse.
I cracked it by not dieting ... If I diet I obsess, if I just concentrate on eating more healthily and doing a little more exercise it seems to be working. I have lost almost 50 lb in a year. And I have about the same to go. I am so much better for it though.
I know how hard it is so I wish you all the absolute best of luck
I have seen so many.
I think my favourite scene is the one in Shuan of the Dead when he's fighting that zombie in the backyard thinking it's a drunk woman who fancies him.
My favourite horror film of all time is Vodoo Moon closely followed by The Crow and there are so many great scenes in those that I really can't pick one. If I really had to I think Daniel and the church spire in the former is so amazing it has to be my fave. Not giving too much away in case you havent seen the film, don't want to spoil it.
But then there is that great scene when THe Crow crashes through the window....
Do you get the idea I just can't make up my mind...?
This was a mind broadening and cultural experience *removes tongue from cheek* I'll take half a dozen please
Show off. How many did you fit in your suitcase  *wink wink*
I love writing sex scenes. It's the closest I get these days Howeer, I do try and confine them to where they actually add to the plot. Meaningless sex has it's place but not in stories.... well unless they are about meaningless sex of course...
