I suspect they meant winter olympics, not just winter

What Myr said. I think I can actually get access to it through the school, once school starts. But I'm not 100% sure, and until they process the accounts (again... every semester the same game... ./sigh) I can't check.

Depending on finances, same here.

I almost have to write in third person; I just can't 'do' first.

One would think the reduced fertility would be desireable in an era when the world's population is reaching the point where 'crowding' is becoming a global condition

Well, I knew about the first part, but I didn't realize that he lost his powers as a result (Edit: Actually, I think I remember a scene where he didn't understand parseltoungue anymore at the end, it's just been so long since I last read the book... I wish it were out in e-book format, I really do!)

He didn't? I thought Voldemort's powers were there 'to stay'...

I've never really liked the way she defined those three spells are 'unforgivable'. Crucio I can understand, but Imperio and Avada Kedavra I don't. Various 'lesser' forms of control are clearly legal, so why imperio got chucked out I don't get. And for the killing curse... dead is dead. Does it matter if I do it with the killing curse, sectumsumpra, or some other spell? Even Crucio I can see a 'valid' use for (I can't imagine a better way to distract an opponent in battle than raw pain).

I'm not 'afraid' of anything. I have two stories posted, with two more chapters coming on one before it's 'caught up' and has to wait for the next CastleRoland posting (whenever that happens). I also have some 'pornographic' work which doesn't go much of anywhere; the one story that did get a real couple of chapters put out is up on Nifty, if you know where to look. Ironically, it was originally intended as a stand-alone short story (emphasis: short) that got more chapters becuase everyone ticked me off because they didn't get that the entire story was a wet dream. (A 'WTF was I dreaming?!' type wet dream inspired by a real life 'WTF?!' dream of my own... then elaborated beyond all recognition) I don't connect the two identities on Nifty, mainly because I hope to make the "Rilbur" name into a 'good' one. So I'm not going to burden it with pure smut... simply because most people (for some insane reason) look down on it.

One option is to do the "regular" story, and offer an "X-rated" version. There have been times when I've been tempted to do that with Guardian, but it hasn't really been necessary. Heck, I suspect the scenes in question are better with the sex toned down, or so people have said. (I'm thinking specifically of the rape scene, where several people told me they think the 'toned down' version is better because of the way it focuses more on the emotions Jason is going through as he's being raped).

Strangely enough, that's too of us! Maybe that's because the videos out there aren't half as imaginative as the written works (most gay porn is incredibly cliche... and almost always runs in the same way with very minor differences), but I think a larger degree of it is the fact that the written word is more... involved. When you see something, you're wired to recognize "them, not me"... when you're reading, you're free to emphasize to a larger degree with the actors and 'enjoy' the experience a little bit closer. I just can't seem to keep going on my 'pornographic' work. I've got some, it just... never really goes very far. Especially if I try to avoid inserting 'storyline' in it.

I try to avoid the cliche, trite phrases that 'everybody' knows, but right now I think they fit what you need to hear. Don't let your hatred destroy you. Don't let your revenge consume you until you are the very thing you hate. Revenge is a dish best served cold. You want revenge? Under the circumstances... I agree with you. Just do it right. Hit them where it hurts the most. They want to deny you? They want to make your life miserable? Don't let them! Wait until you're position is strong, then strike, and strike hard. Make them -- force them -- to acknowledge you, and have your revenge by living and living well. Be happy. Be well. If they truly hate you as much as your statements imply... Well, there's a scene from Babylon 5 that seems to strike at what I'm aiming for: "One of the perks of being Emperor, or President in your case, is not the so much the people who are pleased to see you in office. It's the people who are furious that you are even alive, no less holding a position of power! Knowing that every day you succeed they die a little more inside makes the endeavor eminently satisfying... hmm?" Live, live well, and make sure that when the time comes they know it. Trust me, that will be far, far worse for them than anything physical you can do. The mental is to the physical as 10 is to 1. And the mental anguish that will cause them... Well, either you understand what I am driving at or you won't. But just think, the best benefit of this is that they are the ones likely to go to jail, not you! If, as you've implied, the manipulated the official records to try and erase your existence... well, the civilized world over, that kind of thing is a crime.

For a good 10 seconds, I couldn't figure out if that was a photo of a tatoo or a real tarantula. The thing that clued me in was the lighting -- the tarantula isn't reflecting the like like it should it if were real. That is a nice tatoo!

Open Office can read, but not save in, docx format. It won't associate itself with the format, however, so you have to manually open the file every time (annoying, yes!)

Wow, that's a lot of posts!

South Carolina man caught on tape having sex with horse
Rilbur replied to Rainbow_Warrior's topic in The Lounge
Hey, there are worse jokes that could be made. I could have commented that he just needed somebody well hung... -
As far as I know, it's one of those 'grammatically incorrect' things you can use if it improves the writing. So, yeah, you can use it, just be sparing and have a good reason.

Bad country song? I suppose... No, not even country has that bad a taste!

Hrm... last time I volunteered I got stuck with something way over my head... But if you need someone to do some grunt work, I'd be willing to help (with this, the newsletter, or anything else). I 'hang out' around here enough that it's only fair to give something back, and with my finances having just gone belly up I can't do it in cash...

Bees: I can't stand bees, I will go 20 miles out of my way to avoid them. Bridges: I can't stand walking out onto the middle of a bridge, or an overpass, or anything similar. It's not a problem with heights, per say, I'm fine with airplanes and buildings and the like. It's bridges, overpasses, and the like that make my skin crawl. I am convinced it's going to fall out from under me.

A sixteen pound sledgehammer; a shield crossed with a naked sword. I'm as blunt as the first, and my personality required me to stand between light and dark, good and evil... the innocent sheep and the wolfs out the eat them. Oh, and a straitjacket because I am one short step shy of insane.

Alkatraz was fun, I've been there a few times. Past that... I lived near there, but I don't remember enough to guide you to the cool spots, it's been too long.

Oooh, another Ringo and Weber fan! I love both of those authors Try... David Weber: (A lot of his works can be downloaded, free, from http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com ) Oath of Swords, Sword God's Own, Wind Rider's Oath Off Armageddon Reef, By Schism Rent Asunde, By Heresies Distressed Armageddon Troll In Fury Born Hells Gate; Hell Hath No Fury You've already mentioned the Honor series, which runs something like 12 books these days... Basilisk Station, Honor of the Queen, A Short Victorious War, Field of Dishonor, Honor in Exile, Honor Among Enemies, In Enemy Hands, Echoes of Honor, Ashes of Victory, War of Honor, At All Costs, (Upcoming Mission of Honor) Side stories: Crown of Slaves, Torch of Freedom (due out 'soon') Shadow of Saganami, Storm From the Shadows With John Ringo: March Upcontry, March to the Sea, March to the Stars, We Few I love this story; it's a gigantic bildungsroman (coming of age novel, or in in this case series) showing how Roger McClintock goes from being a spoiled brat... to a McClintock's McClintock; a warrior beyond compare, a man of honor and a naked sword in human form. John Ringo (WARNING: this guy is an 'adult' author in a lot of ways, he does not pull his punches. I'll specifically note the ones that will be particularly disturbing, but his work is military sci-fi): Legacy of the Aldenata (Or Posleen War, or another few names) is a great series, but it's a PITA to list. There's a 'core' series, Hymn Before Battle, Gust Front, When the Devil Dances, and Hell's Fair, but there are also several stand alone novels or secondary series and I'm not even going to bother trying to make sense of them. Council War Series: There Will Be Dragons, Emerald Sea (NOTE: attached short-story is very graphic... and set in a harem), Against the Tide, "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" (Note; despite titles this is a sci-fi, not fantasy, series) Paladin of the Shadow Series (NOTE: This series is the one I was thinking of when I said I'd mention 'particularly disturbing'; Ghost is a disturbed man who is violent, hard-core soldier... and very sexually dominant. By which I mean rapist who chooses not to engage in rape... mostly, in a kinda-sorta way.) Ghost, Kildar, Choosers of the Slain, Unto the Breach (I love this book, specifically some scenes later one where the terrorists learn the true meaning of terror... by dieing. AER KELDAR!), A Deeper Blue Looking Glass: Into the Looking Glass, Vorpal Blade, Manxome Foe, Claws that Catch Non Series: Von Nueman's War, Princess of Wands (this one has strongly influenced my Redemption / Guardian universe, not that that's shown up yet) OK, so I love these guys... sorry to write a mini essay on them!

D'oh, I was looking at the ones in the OP! No wonder I was confused LOL! Oh well... full rearal isn't as good as a full frontal, but it was still fun

I don't suppose you could point me at the correct clip, since the youtube one doesn't appear to be it?
