Amos and Byron have been friends since they were young but as they grew they has to assume their roles in life; Byron as a young noble and Amos as his man servant.

Perhaps the most dangerous kind are the real ones, people who believe they have the right, for whatever reason, to abuse and control through fear. When innocence is viciously taken, it can be a long road back to trusting, both yourself and others.

Tim, an honor student from Los Gatos, grapples with heartbreak and self-reflection after being ghosted by Thet, a closeted blue-collar guy from South St. Louis. As Tim wrestles with anger and confusion, a dinner with his grandmother leads to a powerful coming-out moment. Their heartfelt exchange helps Tim process past trauma with his father and recognize the secrecy and pain others around him carry. When he later spots Thet out with a girl, he sees through the act—and instead of lashing out, reaches out with unexpected compassion, hoping Thet will one day accept who he is.

Alyea is a royal princess being forced into a marriage she doesn't want. Rather than follow the rules she strikes out on her own. Exactly what that means for her is a whole new life she never knew, and just possibly a chance at love.

Immanuel Kant immediately fascinated me, yet this story is not about him, but about how he changed my life.

Actually, it wasn't exactly Kant who changed it, but it was my grandmother's grandmother, who had probably been a witch.
