Mike Stetson and Robbie Hartford are both fifteen. The two boys were born and raised living beside each other. Mike's Dads and Robbie's Dads met in college, and formed a lasting brotherhood. The two couples bought a hundred acres of land, built their main houses beside each other. All through their lives Mike and Robbie have been there for one another, and now that they're maturing, the teens are falling for one another, but are afraid to change or lose their friendship.

Peter Morticelli finds himself thrust into a ghoulish mystery, along with the rest of his small town. Strange sightings and happenings are leaving many to beg the question: is somebody tampering with the spirits of the dead? While a mystery is afoot, Peter is more interested in solving the mystery of Simon Chernosky, an unfriendly loner at his school.

Stuff happens, a lot; everyone has something going on. Cody's parents are divorced; his father's aloof, his mother hates his gut. Evelyn is smothered by an overprotective father. Luka struggles with a broken home and an uncertain future. Noel exists, the third son of a single, low-income father. Raquel has no parents; her brothers, gangster ties. Soren's, well Soren.

One fine summer afternoon, life steamrolls, and the six must stick together--perhaps to even stay alive.

This is the sequel to the first book, A Touch of Blue. It is highly recommended to read that one first before delving into this one 😸
