University student Brett Hamilton completes high school two years earlier than usual and enters university to study Aeronautical Engineering, which he changes to Aerospace Engineering in his second year. Back home for Christmas Holidays, the family goes for a camping holiday, where things change dramatically for Brett.

Homeless Adam wanders the dilapidated buildings for food and warmth in an abandoned street called Heidgate. Clearly ill, regularly sexually assaulted and in need of medical attention he waits each week for a charity bus to turn up so he can eat and get warm.
