Cid (working title) - 19. Chapter 19
CHAPTER NINETEEN
Billy POV
As Billy trudged his way through the snow to get to class, the memory of his first real date still sang its melody in his head…and that was two days ago. It was a Friday morning, his short day. Just a few hours from now he’d be wrapping up the school week and really looking forward to the weekend. His weekend with Frank.
They’d talked and talked, ok, he did most of the talking; but Frank threw in his fair share. They actually complemented each other’s personalities. He felt so needy and an attention hound; Frank was more sure of himself and gave it to him straight (no pun intended). He smiled to himself as he thought of the tall young man in his room bearing a stunning bouquet of pink roses and they ate and talk and…Billy got his first kiss. Ever. Followed up by a second kiss that ended with a super long hug.
Frank’s lips. Holy cow those lips were softer than silk. Billy had a tough time keeping his interest from showing to the whole world; one of the bad parts of being a boy; if he was turned on, everyone saw. But right now he was starting not to care if everyone did see. He had a serious crush on Frank and it was growing by the hour.
Cid was still a worry to him; but he hoped to still be friends. He had wanted to kiss the artist so badly but saw that he at least had someone new to talk to and apparently watch over him. Good. That’s what he needed.
“Morning.” Frank greeted him with a long hug.
Billy soaked in the scent and feel of his boyfriend. Oh yes, they’d decided to make it official too. Facebook screamed out their new status and he couldn’t be happier when he saw the positive responses. He stepped back and looked up at his man.
“Hi, handsome.” He gave him the biggest smile. “Sleep ok?”
Frank nodded. “Pretty good, you?”
“Oh yeah. Once I could calm down.” He had to admit that his hormones were getting the best of him and he had to ‘take care of things’ before he was able to get to sleep at all. He dreamt of being in Frank’s arms…doing things he’d never done before.
They shared a laugh together and Billy leaned into him. He felt so safe and comfortable; this was what he liked for sure. He shut his eyes for a moment and just soaked the feeling in.
“Hey…you going to sleep?” Frank jostled him lightly, playfully. “We gotta get to class.”
Dammit. Stupid schooltime. Billy groaned and stepped back. “Fine, at least we have later on, right?”
Frank nodded and took Billy’s hand into his. “That and we have all weekend.”
Now that was the best thought ever. Billy grinned and held Franks’ hand tight as they headed off to their class together.

Kellen POV
Kellen started his Friday with a start. His late, late alarm was going off and he fussed with the phone to turn it off. He’d overslept and felt achy and his throat hurt; like someone had shoved dried porcupine needles down it. Shit. He didn’t need this today; he wanted so much for this upcoming weekend to be the best yet. He wanted to ask Cid out so badly, but the ‘lilac rabbit’, as he called him, would run away. He wouldn’t dare risk that.
He cared a lot for Cid and wanted to keep things tame and calm. Kellen himself had gone through hell with a relationship and he knew the signs. Cid had been hurt, badly, and rejected everyone. He thought he was a terrible match and that Kellen could do much better.
Nonsense.
After making himself get up, Kellen grabbed a snack cake for breakfast and mindlessly pulled on some clothes and his parka. After slinging his backpack on his shoulder, he made his way to class.
Cid looked up as soon as he walked in and…was that…teeth? Was Cid smiling? No way. Kellen had worked the impossible it seemed. Dammit. He wished he felt better so he could really soak up this moment.
Kellen slumped into a chair and pulled his coat around his mouth as he started to cough.
“Kellen? You ok?” Cid asked.
“Dude, I feel like crap. Woke up late and now this cough started. I think I’m coming down with something.”
“Damn…should you be here? You’ll get everyone else sick too.”
Kellen shot him a look but he knew Cid was right. “Fine, fine. Maybe I’ll coop up in my room and find a hot nurse to help me.” He smirked at Cid and he blushed. “I’m calling it a weekend already I guess.”
He raised his hand and the professor called on him. “Yes, Kellen? Not feeling so well are we?”
“No sir. (cough, cough) I caught something for sure. Can a classmate bring the assignment?”
“Of course! Now get out of here before you infect us all Mr. MacPherson.” He shooed him away with his hand.
Kellen nodded and grabbed his backpack and slung it back over his shoulder. He gave Cid a quick look. “Can you bring it by later? I’m not leaving my room much today.”
Cid nodded. “Of course. I’ll slip it under the door. Do you need any meds?”
Now there was a good question. His mom would’ve had him drinking some homemade something or other by now. But she wasn’t here, only himself, Cid, and the corner drugstore.
“I’ll let ya know.” He coughed again and slowly made his way out of the building and went back to his dorm room. He found some cough drops and tea packets. Now…all he needed was some sleep and fluids. Easy peasy, right?
Being sick sucked ass, and Kellen tried to do all he could to avoid it; but with all the germs floating around campus this time of year, it had caught up with him at last. Nothing to do now but sleep and wait for Cid to drop by.
