When Opportunity Knocks - 15. Chapter 15

Things are moving ahead fir the guys. The hearing is coming up soon, so you know they're stressing.

Jett broke down the cardboard box and threw it on the small pile of already discarded boxes ready to be put out for recycling. He laughed when he saw the box that his dad had labeled ‘Dildos, Blow Up Dolls and Fleshlights. It had been full of high school memorabilia. There probably was a blow up doll in there, knowing his brother.

The holidays were behind them and Bo had found a place to live. He was renting a nice two bedroom condo in a new complex that had recently opened. The Naval Academy had purchased several units to rent out to staff. Bo managed to snag one of two condos that overlooked Chesapeake Bay. His was a corner unit on the fourth floor. It was the most expensive one, but Bo had fallen in love with the views. Corner units had two balconies and the one off of his bedroom had a fantastic view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Annapolis was a sailing town and once it warmed up the Bay would be a playground for boat owners. The Academy was less than ten minutes away, he could even walk if he chose.

Bo didn’t have very much stuff to move. Their parents had stored several boxes of keepsake items for him over the years. It was a good thing that Bo had always been pretty frugal. He needed to fully furnish his condo from top to bottom. Being in the Navy for over ten years, he had always lived in military housing and had never needed anything beyond the bare necessities like linens, a few dishes, pots and pans and some small appliances. He was smart with his investments and had a specific savings account for moving expenses. Jett’s family had all chipped in and gave Bo a nice chunk of change for Christmas to help out with furnishing his new place. As soon as Beth had heard Bo’s announcement that he was moving back she would add extra staples to her grocery cart every week. Bo now had spices, condiments, canned and dry goods starting to fill up his cupboards. Jett’s housewarming contribution had been a new coffee maker, grinder and several pounds of gourmet beans.

Bo had spent the past couple of weeks shopping for furniture. He bought a brand new king bed and mattress. Some of the other furniture and decor he found at some of the local second hand stores and consignment shops. His one and only splurge item was an eighty inch flat screen TV and surround sound system. It took up nearly an entire wall in his living room area.

Jett looked up when there was a knock on the door and called out “Come in!’ He smiled when he saw Kyle come through the entry.

Kyle’s fine ass appeared first as he nudged the door open, both hands full. “I come bearing gifts of pizza and beer!”

Jett quickly went and held the door for him. “Go ahead and set it on the table.”

Kyle put the food and beer down and stepped into Jett’s outstretched arms, letting the bigger man envelop him in warmth.

Jett gave Kyle a kiss and pulled back quickly. “Damn, your lips are like ice!”

“What do you want? It’s below zero out there and the damn wind cuts right through you.” Kyle grinned and rubbed his lips to get blood flowing again, then shrugged off his jacket and slung it on a chair in the living room.

Bo came out of his bedroom where he had been putting clothes away and getting organized. His bedroom had a pretty good size closet and he had found a five drawer dresser that almost matched the light oak of his headboard.

“Thanks for doing the pizza and beer run Kyle, and thanks for your help with unpacking too,” Bo said.

“If this place didn’t have an elevator you would’ve been shit outta luck. I had to help Noah move into a fifth floor walk-up after college and I swore, never again!” Kyle chuckled.

“Speaking of Noah, what’s he up to today?” Jett asked.

“He’s visiting…,” both Kyle and Bo spoke at the same time.

Jett laughed. Bo actually blushed. “Do tell Bo, what is Noah up to today? Hmmm? How would you even know?”

“Bite me. We’ve been hanging out a bit. I like him, okay. Got a problem with that Bro?” Bo lifted the lid of the pizza box, peeled off a mushroom and tossed it at Jett. “He’s visiting some family.”

Kyle tried not to laugh at Bo and his newfound insider knowledge. Then, for Jett’s sake, he added, “His aunt and uncle are here and with Noah going back to Japan soon his mom wants the rest of the family to get a chance to see him before he takes off. He’ll be tied up the rest of the day most likely.”

Jett caught Bo’s eye. There was an undercurrent of understanding that flowed between them. Bo liked Noah a lot more than he let on and Jett knew that it would be hard for him when the little computer nerd was gone.

“So are you guys still planning on going up to Connecticut next week?” Bo asked, changing the subject.

Kyle’s face sobered as did Jett’s. Jett nodded. The parole hearing had been postponed a week and was now scheduled for the 17th. “Yeah, I told Kim we’d go up the day before the hearing with her. She won’t admit anything, but she’s really anxious. Megan decided not to go. She said she’s just not ready to see him.”

“I can’t blame her. The whole situation is so messed up,” Bo commented.

Jett and Bo had numerous conversations over the past few weeks. In so much as he was Bo’s sounding board, the reverse rang true as well. Jett let loose with thoughts and comments that he couldn’t say to Kim or Kyle. He knew that Kyle was still trying to process the fact that his biological father was a child molesting rapist. He had gone through all of the reports that his captain had given him with a fine tooth comb and hadn’t found anything out of the ordinary. Jett’s experience in law enforcement told him that Marc Greene would probably never be let out on probation, but his history of good behaviour may possibly get him moved to a medium security prison. The man was in his mid-60’s now, and would be less of a flight risk supposedly. Jett also knew that individuals like this who had such severe mental health issues were usually extremely manipulative and knew how to work the system.

Kim had agreed to adding security cameras to their duplex and Jett felt better when she got it scheduled for the beginning of February. He just wished Kyle would take his own safety a little more seriously. Kyle had finished his training and had gotten his WCHP. They were supposed to go looking at guns when they were finished helping Bo.

The next few minutes were quiet as they dug into the food. Moving shit around all morning and half the afternoon had made them all ravenous. It didn’t take long for the three of them to devour the cheesy pie.

Bo grabbed the last piece of pizza and said, “Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate it,” before shoving half the slice in his mouth.

“No worries Bro, you didn’t have a whole shitload of stuff anyway. So, we’re gonna head out if you don’t need us. There’s a few errands we need to take care of,” Jett replied.

They took care of cleaning up and Jett grunted as they walked across the parking lot and a particularly strong gust of wind howled through the air, making any exposed skin feel like it was being pierced by thousands of shards of glass. They picked up the pace and ran the last fifty feet to where Jett’s truck was. The ride to the gun range was quiet, both men lost in thought.

Kyle already knew that he wanted a Glock 19. He had used one all through his practice shooting and liked how it handled. The owner of the range was working and he had the paperwork ready for Kyle. Once everything was filled out and Kyle paid the man, they headed over to the range. Kyle would now have to wait the state’s seven day mandatory period before he could take possession of the weapon.

Jett had brought two of his guns for them to shoot and after purchasing some more ammo they spent an hour destroying paper targets. Kyle was getting pretty good and Jett always enjoyed honing his skills.

When they got back to Jett’s house, Bruce and Rosie greeted them with head butts and wet slobbery dog licks.

“You staying for supper?” Jett asked.

“Sure, what are we having?”

“I bought crab meat yesterday so how about crab cakes?”

“Oooooh, definitely yes. What do you want me to do?” Kyle asked.

Jett tasked him with microwaving a couple of potatoes and fixing a salad.

They sat down when everything was ready and Jett decided to broach the topic of security once more with Kyle.

“Have you thought some more about adding security cameras and an alarm system to your house?”

“I have. You know I was kinda on the fence about it. I’m just leery that someone can hack into the system and have access to the cameras inside. Noah’s told me that it’s possible. I don’t know if I want to risk my privacy like that,” Kyle admitted.

“Kyle, don’t you think your safety is important?” Jett challenged.

“You know I do, but I think that having a dog and in another week, a Glock, is enough security. I really don’t like the thought of cameras watching my every move.”

Jett sighed. “But you’re the only one who will control the cameras.”

Kyle shot him an indignant look. “That’s not guaranteed. Look I really wish you’d just fucking let it go! I don’t need a babysitter, Jett, nor do I need another mother. I need someone who respects my choices. I don’t need an overbearing cop breathing down my neck every day about a fucking security system!” He pushed his half-eaten plate away. “I’m going home. I really don’t want to discuss this anymore.”

Jett was taken aback by Kyle’s outburst and sat there in shock. He watched in silence as Kyle gathered Rosie, then left without another word. He wasn’t sure exactly when their conversation went off the rails, but he realized that something he said must’ve struck a nerve. He decided to give Kyle some time to cool off.

Jett didn’t think their disagreement was serious, but after four days of not hearing from Kyle, he was getting worried. His texts and calls were being ignored. He still had no idea why Kyle was so vehemently opposed to additional security.

By the following Saturday Jett was mad.

In his mind he had many conversations with Kyle and each one of them was progressively worse. Mentally, he had worked himself up into a frenzy. When he was in his early 20’s he’d had a boyfriend who would blow him off for days at a time and then he would act as if nothing had happened and expected Jett to let it slide. That kinda stuff had played with his head and had made him extremely distrusting for a very long time. It pissed him off then and it pissed him off now. Communication was key to any relationship. Who the fuck did Kyle think he was acting like a spoiled brat? Jett was concerned for his safety and when he voiced his concern, this is how he was treated? Screw that shit.

Last night he spoke to Bo. Noah was there and had gotten on the phone. “Just fucking call him. I know Kyle. When he gets in a snit fit, he’s a selfish asshole. We’d get into arguments when we were kids and not speak to each other for weeks. Not for lack of trying on my part. You don’t have weeks, Jett. The hearing is in a few days and he’s going to need you. I know what his hang up is over getting a security system and you need to hear it from him. Yes, I told him it’s possible for it to get hacked, but I also told him it’s highly unlikely anyone would want to watch him and if he was so worried he should stop rubbing one out in his living room.”

Jett mulled over the conversation in his head as he pulled into his driveway after his shift on Saturday. Noah was probably right. He needed to be the one to reach out. Instead of getting out of his patrol vehicle, Jett backed it out of his driveway and headed over to Kyle’s, hoping he was there. Relief flooded through him when he saw Kyle’s truck at his house.

Jett parked and let Bruce out of the back, clipping his leash to his collar. Bruce’s tail wagged as they climbed the steps. Jett rang the bell and waited. He rang it again. Two minutes later, he pushed it a little more forcefully, as if that would make it any louder. By the time five minutes had passed, he knew Kyle was ignoring him because he could hear Rosie scratching at the door and Kyle telling her to stop. Jett started banging on the door with his fist. Rosie started barking frantically.

Finally Kyle pulled the door open a few inches. Jett was ready, shoving his shoulder into the solid wood and pushing forcefully. Bruce slid through quickly and Jett stepped inside. Kyle was still trying to push the door closed so Jett stepped out of the way and the door slammed shut. He took advantage of the element of surprise and grabbed Kyle by the shoulders and pushed him against the wall, effectively pinning the smaller man against the wall.

“Uh-uhn. This ends now Kyle. You either talk to me and tell me what’s really going on or I go out that door and don’t look back. You really wanna break Rosie’s heart when I take Bruce away for good? I thought our relationship was better than this?” Jett didn’t enjoy using intimidation tactics on Kyle, but it was time for some tough love and Kyle would just have to deal with it.

He felt the tension in Kyle’s body loosen.

“You’re right. You deserve better. I’m sorry,” Kyle nearly whispered.

Jett relaxed his grip and pulled Kyle close, breathing in the scent that he had been deprived of for nearly a week.

“C’mon, let’s go sit,” Jett instructed. They sat on the couch and Jett pulled Kyle close. “Okay, now tell me what’s really going on.”

Kyle took a deep breath. “It goes back to my ex, Mike. I told you he was a taker, not a giver. What I didn’t tell you was that he took away my privacy. The last couple of months that we dated he had set up a hidden camera in my bedroom. He posted videos of us having sex online. I found out after we broke up and was cleaning my room. He had hidden it on the top of the mirror on my dresser. There was a little ledge and I was storing some books there. So the thought of cameras in my home freaks me out.”

Jett sighed. Now things make sense. “Why didn’t you just tell me?” he asked gently.

“I was embarrassed and ashamed. Those videos are still out there. There’s no way to completely get rid of them. I didn’t even want to tell Noah because I knew he’d try to get rid of as many as he could and I didn’t want him to see them. He bullied it out of me too. I was able to get several taken down from various sites, but getting rid of all them is impossible. Plus, Mike could always repost them,” Kyle admitted.

“That son of a bitch. Hey, I’m sorry I bullied you. I shouldn’t have done that,” Jett apologized. “But, Kyle, you can’t ever shut me out like that again. One of my exes used to do the same thing to me and it messed me up for a while. I’ve spent the past week alternately beating myself up and mentally ripping you a new one. I don’t like feeling that way.

“No, you shouldn’t have bullied me, but I get why you did. I’m sorry about your ex too. I wish I would’ve known. I’d like to think that I would’ve reacted differently.”

Jett nodded. “I should’ve told you it was a sore spot for me. I guess we both need to work on being more open with each other. I get embarrassed too, thinking about how much I let being ignored bother me. Sometimes it feels irrational, y’know?

“It’s not irrational. You’re so empathetic when it comes to other people, it makes perfect sense that you hate being blown off. I’m really sorry.”

“I’m sorry too.”

“Before you ask, I did think about going after him legally, but decided against it. He’s the type of person that gives more attention to something that bothers you. I knew if I ignored the issue, he’d get bored with it and move onto something else. So far, I can’t find anything else he’s posted with me in it. He must know that I found the cameras when the feed stopped after I smashed the shit out of them. That felt really good by the way.” Kyle gave him a tentative smile. “I know I should’ve just told you, but my head’s been a mess with everything that’s happened the past year. Forgive me?”

“Only if we get to have make up sex.”

Jett watched as Kyle stood up and pulled off his sweatshirt. He popped open the top button of his jeans and Jett admired the soft hair that made up his happy trail.

Kyle shucked off his jeans and headed for his bedroom. “What are you waiting for?”

Jett shot up off the couch and followed Kyle into his bedroom. He couldn’t help the small gasp that escaped when Kyle turned around, the front of his sexy boxer briefs starting to bulge out. That was a beautiful sight. The urge to feel Kyle buried inside him took over his thought process. His anger at Kyle had completely evaporated and all that was left was a primal urge to reconnect in the basest of ways. Jett rid himself of his uniform and stored his gun and utility belt on the top of Kyle’s dresser. Kyle’s eyes tracked his every move. Jett smiled as he reached out to strip the last bit of material off of Kyle’s body. His skin broke out in goosebumps when Kyle’s fingers reached out to brush along his chest, ghosting over his nipples. Jett pushed Kyle down on the bed and covered his body with his own. Muscle against muscle, their cocks lined up naturally, like two magnets drawn together.

Jett didn’t want slow and sensual. This week had been difficult and rough. He needed a good and thorough pounding. “Fuck me hard Kyle. I need you.” Jett rolled over so that Kyle was on top of him.

Kyle’s need was evident in his eyes. Lust. Want. Desire. It was all reflected in the steamy look he gave Jett. Kyle reached over and grabbed a condom and lube. His erection bounced in front of him as he settled back on his heels between Jett’s widespread legs. He dribbled some lube on his fingers and without any warning slid one inside of Jett in one quick movement. Jett sucked in air at the slight burn. The air whooshed out as Kyle immediately slid another finger in just as quickly.

Jett wasn’t in any mood for foreplay. He needed a cock in his ass and only Kyle’s would do. His ass lifted off the bed to meet the push of Kyle’s fingers. Need slammed into him as his prostate was grazed. Jett grabbed a hold of Kyle and flipped them, Kyle’s fingers abruptly leaving his ass with the movement. He grabbed the hard shaft and scooted forward, lining himself up. A long string of loud expletives left his mouth as he pushed himself down on Kyle. It was pain and pleasure, exquisitely combined to create ecstasy.

Kyle’s curse words joined his own as Jett buried the hard dick in him as far as it would go. His knees hit the mattress and he pushed down just a little further. Kyle started bucking his hips and Jett eased up just a little so that Kyle could establish a pounding rhythm. Kyle’s knees came up and Jett leaned back, changing the angle slightly. Now Kyle was hitting his sweet spot over and over. Jett’s lungs burned with the need for more oxygen. The push and pull of Kyle beneath him sent jolts of electricity through him.

“Jett, I’m close.”

Those words were magic. Jett grabbed his cock and gave it a few long pulls. Just as Kyle hit his prostate head on he squeezed his cockhead and shouted as it exploded. Ropes of pearly cum shot across Kyles’ torso, covering him.

As Jett’s ass clenched around Kyle, he felt Kyle unleash his own orgasm, pulsing into the condom. Kyle’s hips continued to piston back and forth a few more times until they both were spent.

Still gasping for air Jett declared, “I hate arguing, but I love make up sex!”

“I’ll second that.”

They laid there together for several minutes, just enjoying the feel of one another. Thoughts of security systems, evil child molesters, the upcoming hearing, all vanished into the post sex haze that descended over them. Jett laid next to Kyle and kissed the top of his head when he rested it on Jett’s chest. His heart was still hammering and he felt it tug inside of him, knowing that Kyle could hear the steady beats.

They were finally roused from the light doze that they had both fallen into by the sound of Rosie scratching at the bedroom door. Kyle got up, rather lazily, and ignored the scratching. Instead he detoured into the bathroom. Jett rested another minute, listening as Kyle turned on the water in the shower. When he figured it was warm enough, Jett followed Kyle’s path and joined him under the steamy spray.

Once they were clean and dry, Jett grabbed a sweatshirt and pair of jeans that he had left there previously. He had to borrow socks and a pair of boxers from Kyle, who shot him a look of approval. Kyle opened the door to a rather indignant Golden Retriever. Jett would’ve sworn the dog shot Kyle a look of disappointment at being locked out of ‘her’ room. Bruce was merely looking on from his spot on a folded up comforter next to Rosie’s crate. He wanted no part of Rosie’s beef with Kyle.

Kyle poured out a couple of measures of whiskey into two snifters and handed one to Jett. “I’m glad things are okay between us again. I was pretty miserable this week.”

Jett leaned against the counter. “Me too. We have enough on our plates with the hearing later this week. So, do you still want me to go with you?”

“Of course. I need you there, and I think Kim does too. Speaking of, have you talked to her lately?”

“Not in the past few days. Why don’t I text her and see if she’s home tonight and we can get together and finalize the plans to go up to Connecticut?” Jett pulled his phone out of his jeans as Kyle nodded in agreement.

It took a few minutes for Kim to reply, but she said she’ll be home by six and to come over. She offered to pick up some Chinese food and Jett sent back a text with their order. It was only five o’clock so they bundled up and took the dogs for a walk. The air wasn’t as cold as it had been when they helped Bo move, but it was still pretty brisk. Both dogs loved being outside and when Bruce wasn’t in working mode he was a happy-go-lucky dog with a tail that wagged nonstop.

Kim’s car was in the driveway when they got to Jett’s. Jett went into his house first to put away his work gear and secure his weapon. Kyle let the dogs out the back slider where Tater was impatiently waiting for them.

Kim had just finished taking the lids off of the containers and the smell of the food quickly permeated the air. Even though they had each ordered their own dish, they ended up each taking a little bit of the others for some variety.

Jett swallowed a bit of his spicy beef and wiped off his mouth. “Do you have everything you need for the hearing?

Kim nodded, pushing her food around on her plate. “Yeah, the attorney that Nikki and I use has updated our victim statements. He called me today to let me know that Megan sent over hers.”

“Megan and I read each other’s before we sent them over. She brought up a few points that I didn’t think of, and I had a few points from a different perspective too,” Kyle added. “I had a hard time getting the letter started, but once I got going it was like the floodgates opened. I didn’t think I could be impacted to the extent I am. It’s weird to think of how one person basically determined the course that my life started out on.”

“Let’s just hope the parole committee sees the detrimental effects letting him out would cause so many people.” Jett tried to put a positive spin on things.

“OK, the hearing is set for 9 o’clock Thursday morning. I have two rooms booked at the Hampton Inn in Enfield Wednesday night. I figure if we leave late morning on Wednesday we can hit NYC in between rush hours and get to the hotel by dinner time.” Kim suggested.

“You do realize there is no such thing as ‘in between rush hours in New York City.” Jett pointed out.

“Well, we can always skirt around and take the Tappan Zee instead of the GW if traffic really sucks.” Kyle suggested.

No matter what route they took, the traffic trying to get around the metro New York City area was heinous. None of them were looking forward to it. They had already decided to take Jett’s truck as it had the most room. Rosie was going to spend the night with Kyle’s parents, but Bruce had to stay in the kennel at the barracks due to department rules. Until he retired, Bruce would be the property of the Maryland State Police Department and had to abide by their regulations.

They wrapped up their plans for the week and Kim told them to leave the mess, she’d take care of it. Jett called Bruce and all three dogs bounded up the steps to the deck. Tater was a little put out and pouted when Jett corralled him into his own house. Bruce and Rosie settled down together on one dog bed, Rosie’s snout buried in Bruce’s thick neck fur.

Jett took a page from his dog’s playbook and when he and Kyle slipped under the covers, he pulled Kyle close and buried his nose in the crook of his neck, spooning him from behind.

They would worry about the hearing later. Tonight was for cuddling and maybe, just maybe, another orgasm or two.

Glad these two worked out their communication issues.
I'm just hoping that this latest storm stays out in the Gulf. We've had so much rain already, the ground is saturated. (Stay safe my fellow Floridians!) I hope we don't lose power. Heat and humidity with these storms just sucks!

Jett and Kyle need to learn to talk to each other, otherwise they will constantly have silly arguments. At least they had make up sex.

The parole hearing is nearly here, I'm dreading this.

Make up sex always makes things better! I don't think these two will let lack of communication get in the way anymore (I hope)

Parole hearing...hmmmm🤔🤐

Well @Wayne Gray ain't in the room, so yeah, YOU!  🤣

I'm not going to be knocking Kyle for how he reacted. This is all relatively new between him and Jett, so there's a lot of past that they haven't talked about. Coupled with the stress of the hearing, I'm giving it a pass. Besides, the make up sex was 🔥🔥🔥.  I dread this upcoming hearing for Kim and Kyle. I don't know why, but I keep thinking that Greene is going to say something or cast a look and Jett is going to go off.

Glad to see the boys work thru the issues they each had, I have to believe the upcoming parole hearing had to added a bit to the underlying tension!

Up here just south of Beantown we have a saying...'It isn't the heat so much as it is the stupidity"!!

Yeah, Kyle was stressed out to start with. The upcoming hearing had him on edge for sure. He still should've said something to Jett.
