Naked Calendar

   (10 reviews)
Sub-genres: Drama, General Romance

The sleepy village of Crumbington is about to get a wake-up call.

When the new chairperson of the Summer Fête Committee pushes to create a naked calendar of the Crumbington football team, mouths drop open. Her further pronouncement at having snagged a celebrity host for the fête—rising television and movie star Clifton O’Keefe, and ex-resident of Crumbington—is met with indifference.

Not by Nathan Fresher, though, local baker and captain of the football team. He had been Clifton’s boyfriend in high school, until Clifton and his family disappeared into the night over ten years ago.

Chapter 11: Solicitor

Before I head back to Brexit, I wanted to point out a couple of things during the chapter and ask a few questions:-

  1. Is this actually a cliffhanger, as so many of you have stated? For starters, would Grant in Melbourne have even been shown the Fresher will? Unlikely. Flynn & Fox would have no idea about its existence (why would they?) and the UK end would be under no obligation to disclose this. Ms Cawthorn was simply giving Nathan a piece of advice (and there'll probably be an invoice on his doormat later in the week);
  2. Secondly (in the letter: ...I’m leaving most of my wealth to my son), why would Grant want a little bakery in cute but claustrophobic Crumbington, even if it turns out to be his by birthright, when it sound as though he's got more than enough money, and is already living in paradise (well, Melbourne)? I'm not saying he definitely wouldn't, I'm just saying there would have to be some serious motivation to want him to pursue something like that 😉...

I'll try to post another chapter next Tuesday before I leave for "non EU", "United (for now) Kingdom", soon to be the "51st US State".

💒 Sorry for the slowdown in posting, but just had a whirlwind weekend in the land of Brexit to get the official marriage paperwork out of the way. I am now officially hitched (have the certificate to prove it) although the main ceremony isn't until late September.

For Naked Calendar, I'd hoped to tie everything up by now for the weekend away at Martin and Gallagher's house, but then a few ideas for plot points came to me, so I'm creating a brand new chapter to flesh them out.

More to come soon.
