Writing Prompts #404 & #405

It's been quite a week, but now we're back to our regularly scheduled blog posts. That means that it's time for a couple of new prompts provided by the prompt guru Comicfan. Don't forget to share your prompt responses in the forum so that maybe yours can be the featured response next week. Also, don't forget that you can post your responses in GA Stories but prompt responses under 1,000 words must be posted as part of a collection.

“You honestly think I would wear something like that?”

This week's featured prompt response is from Valkyrie, with her response to Prompt #403:

Travis was incensed. “What do you mean there are only single rooms left? I reserved a double when I called!”

The manager was apologetic, but firm. “I’m sorry, sir. I would be more than happy to give you a double if I had any left, but they’re all occupied.” His English was impeccable, thank goodness, since neither Travis nor I were fluent in Italian.

“Well do you at least have a roll-away we could use?”

“Roll-away?”

“You know, an extra bed.”

The manager looked confused. “Perhaps this is an American thing. We have no extra beds. Single only.”

“Well what are you going to do for us for the inconvenience?”

The manager shrugged. “I can offer you a free night for the mix-up.”

Travis snorted. “We’re here for two weeks. I think you can do better than that.”

Thanks for the feature, Renee!   FYI...Prompt 404 is the same as Prompt 316.

I liked your wish-come-true story, Val. And since only you, Mann and Sasha did anything with the car picture prompt, maybe it's OK to have it up again.

Thanks, Tim and LBO. :)  LBO, it sounds like you have a great idea for a response to Prompt 404.  Let me know if you need an editor.  ;)  I look forward to reading the responses this week.  I already have an idea for Prompt 405. :)

I agree about prompt 405, it's perfect for one of my Rob & Co at the Mall chapters. :D

I do apologize. I was keeping all the prompts as a single file but was becoming a bit unwieldy. Will just have to take new pictures.

NP Wayne.  Like Tim said, it gives people a second chance at a prompt they might have missed. It's a really cool picture. :)

It's a great picture, Wayne. I'm using it this week! I wasn't around the first time so this is perfect! :D

LOL Wings finally understands why it is the "trunk of the car" now!

I think it's fine to revisit some ideas. Not everyone got the chance before. I'd like to set what others will come up with. :D

Ha! That's interesting, I never gave it a thought, I accepted that it was called a trunk and that's what it was—but I can see the reasoning behind the name now. Clearly, watching Downton Abbey made no difference in my understanding despite the traveling scenes with trunks stacked upon the cars.
