I had a very encouraging conversation with my Dad this morning... glad I got to sleep early enough last night to see him before he left.
We started out talking about politics... both of us are very disappointed in the available candidates. He mentioned McCain... I said I felt betrayed by his recent pandering to the religious right, that I thought it was a big mistake on his part since those are precsisely the people who hate him and the people who liked him are the kind who don't care much f
The first Thoughts as I wake up
My last as I go to sleep The subject of my dreams The star of my fantasies If Ever before There was any doubt I am in love now This, I want to shout
I wrote this within a few minutes of waking up this morning.
Today will be a good day.
Last night at around midnight my mom knocked on my door and asked me to go to church with her, saying I should get some sleep so I could wake up early enough if I wanted to go. I am not a very religious person, and there are things about Christianity that will probably keep me from ever becoming a devout Christian, and while I really would rather not have gone, she didn't ask me as a matter of normal routine. My mom is not exactly the most religious person either; she goes to church when she nee
This is my first entry here (as though you couldn't tell). Basically I intend to use this space as somewhat of a journal, so I guess I'll start with what's happened since I woke up today.
Had breakfast with the family today for the first time in a long time. That's when they sprung a surprise family BBQ party on me for today, which meant lots of cleaning up to do. I vaccumed out the pool and cleaned out the pool filter (I can't believe how quickly that thing gets clogged up!). The chlorine i
I sat here for five minutes just thinking of a title for my blog entry. I don't know what it is but I cannot manage to come up with titles! The only reason I put Monday is because it's Monday and I did the sad face because I'm sad it's not Friday! BUT I do have friday off this week and Monday too so I got a four day weekend. YAY for me! I don't have any exciting plans and Sam still has to work but I'm sure I can find something to do with my extra time. I got more Spring cleaning to do which
I've never really been been an active member in a forum/online community before. I don't know how they all work but I know I sure love how it works here at GA. When I was writing my stories, I never had any intention of posting any of them. They were for me, and I didn't know if they were worth it or would even be of any interest to anyone. As I wrote I wasn't sitting there thinking 'hmmm if I do this I'll get a good reaction out of people' I just wrote what came out of my head and never w
Well I had a GREAT Easter. I ate so much my pants were tight on Monday but they seem to be back to normal now. Sam got me a pound of my favorite candy that butter toffee that's coated in chocolate and nuts. I've done good though, instead of eating the whole box in one night I've only had two pieces so far! Course I've been kinda busy eating easter leftovers!
I hope I don't offend here but I HATE rap music, more so I hate every damn commercial having rap music in it. Yesterday I even
I drive everyone nuts with my TGIF's. I just love Friday. Well Friday's at four. I always get that euphoric feeling at having two days off! My usual weekend routine is a bit off this weekend because of Easter but I guess I can survive not spending all of Sunday goofing off once in a while. Usually on Sundays I don't even change out of my pajamas. I call it my day of rest, even though I'm in no way a religious person, but I figure everyone deserves a day of rest!
We're going to Sam's mo
I can't thing of a title for this blog. I'm sooo bad at coming up with titles. Hence my stories being named after they're main characters. If I had to go so far as to name every chapter I'd probly give up all together. I really don't have anything exciting to say. Just felt like writing something. My new story is a little over half done. Seems to be going good so far. I was stuck on a sex scene for a while, I just didn't think it was coming out right but I had my editor read it last nig
I've always thought about doing a blog. I just tend to procrastinate things. I guess it's now or never though. My site designer says he has to have it made before he finishes my website which is tomorrow so here I am today trying to think of what to write!
I guess I should by telling you a little about myself, for those of you who read this that is! I live in Maine, I'm 21 years old and I work making ads for a small company here and other odds and ends they need doing. It's a real laid
Happy St. Patricks Day!
I forgot to wear green (actually, I didnt feel like wearing green) today and I got pinched more than once, but in no good places. I had KFC, and I freaked out because my mashed potatoes were green and I thought something was wrong with them (mine were the only ones at the table that were green) and the girl there had to explain to me that it was because mine were the new batch so the guys I work with got old potatoes, but that
Yesterday it was too hot to work with a shirt on, and today it was snowing. Am I ever not complaining about the weather? In fact, am I ever not complaining? I think it
I was talking to a friend of mine, probably the only girl I hang out with other than my sister, and I was pointing out this guy to her that I think is really hot, and she comes out of nowhere, saying that it doesn
In storytelling, the concept of ensorcell—which means to enchant, fascinate, or place under a magical spell—serves as a powerful tool for shaping character arcs, driving plots, and controlling narrative pacing. It bridges the gap between literal magic and psychological influence.
Here is how the concept of ensorcellment impacts storytelling:
Driving the Plot and Creating Stakes: Ensorcellment often serves as the central inciting incident or conflict in a story.

The verb ensorcell (meaning "to bewitch" or "to enchant") originated in the 1540s and comes from the Middle French word ensorceler, an alteration or dissimilation of the Old French ensorcerer. It is the combination of the prefix -en, meaning "in" or "into" (or an intensive prefix meaning "to cause") and sorcier, the French word for "sorcerer" or "wizard", derived from the Medieval Latin sortiarius, and the ultimate Latin root meaning "lot," "fate," or "destiny".

In storytelling, a bucolic setting—defined by idyllic, rural, and pastoral landscapes—serves as a powerful narrative tool that goes far beyond simple background decoration. Writers and filmmakers use bucolic elements to manipulate pacing, contrast character growth, and ground abstract themes in tangible visuals,
Here is why bucolic settings are so important in storytelling:
The Archetype of the "Safe Haven": Bucolic settings often represent the ultimate emotional anchor or the "St
The word bucolic comes from the ancient Greek word boukolikos (βουκολικός), meaning "rustic" or "pertaining to herdsmen". It combines boûs (βοῦς) meaning "ox" or "cow" (which also gives us words like bovine) and -kolos (-κολος) meaning "tending" or "keeper", and together they form boukólos (βουκόλος) meaning a "cowherd" or "oxherd". The Greek term passed into Latin as būcolicus, keeping its association with herdsmen and pastoral themes.
