Kitty Update!

Drew Espinosa

As some of you know, my sister found an abandoned kitten a couple of days ago :) So I am going to give a quick update.

The night we found him, he didn't sleep well and he fidgeted a lot. By morning we found out why: the poor dear had fleas. :( Well we gave him a bath, and we managed to get rid of most of the fleas during that. However, some still clung on  and so for the next hour or so we watched him to take the remaining fleas one by one as they too died.

So, now he is flea-free :D

Now, in other news, we found out these past couple of days that we had to hold him a certain way to actually feed him, else he wouldn't hold onto the bottle's nipple. Oh! and what is absolutely precious is that my sister is acting as the primary caregiver so she holds him with her wherever she goes, in fact she made a sort of pouch to hold the kitten :*)

Okay, I can't resist, I have to say it: he is just so CUTE!!! :D:wub: and I plan on posting a pic sometime tomorrow :D

So yeah, that is my news! :)

PS: If y'all are wondering why I call the kitten "him" it is because we still haven't decided a name for him :)

I wondered how he was doing. Lucky little fella that he was found by such a caring and dedicated "mom" and you to " uncle" since I'm out of likes.

You call him Pi of course....  Drew's update is just as cute as his kitten.  :gikkle:

Aw, he could be named Cutie Pi :D sadly my family won't go for it, they don't love math like I do :lol:

Fleas. Drew, be sure to vacuum thoroughly wherever your cat has been. Then wrap and dispose of the bag or if bagless, the contents of the vacuum. If you don't, you'll have a big flea problem. I speak from experience.

I'm glad your kitty has a happy home. My cats never liked the baths I gave them. They seemed to think I was punishing them for something. Be careful of what you use for flea control. Cats are extremely sensitive to many of the things normally used to kill fleas. Keep kitty safe.  :)

Back in the '90s, we were given two kittens (boys) who were about two weeks old. And yes they were picky about how they were held when feeding. Unfortunately, the long hair (Sebastian) had a need for nipples once they went on regular food. Luckily, his brother, Lefty, had something that could substitute. Lefty really, really liked having Sebastian's head buried between his back legs. My wife had a fit whenever she caught them doing that. (Something about cats imitating gay men.) I thought it was very funny and eventually they grew out of it.
