Ooh now maybe Keith and Brian might have a thing going on Now since he's in the shower, Brian in the shower, will any of them be able to defend themselves against the scar or will felica and the general make it on time? I think that the greatest danger Brian is in is that he doesn't know Helen. LoL! I think this has to be the quote of the series: "We
MikeL Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 BTW, sorry for my absence from the discussions lately. I've still got the flu and though I'm getting better slowly, I still feel thick headed and woozy (even moreso than normal). Now some bad news; this might delay the posting schedule for Changing Lanes. 36 is in editing, but 37 hasn't even gone to beta yet (I've been writing it while sick and so it's going slowly indeed). So, 37 might be delayed a few days from the schedule, as might 38 (which does not even exist yet). Sorry. I'll do what I can, but the flu was not something I'd planned on. Cliff. Hope you feel better soon. Another great chapter, Cliff. I hope all these cliffhangers are resolved by the end of the story. All of them. I trust all the readers noticed a new element in Cliff's writing...another example of his versatility and willingness to tackle controversial subject matter... a heterosexual romance .
Conner Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Yes, there were some good yuks in this chapter. Keith and Brian....I like it. I think CJ will just leave it in the "sparks" stage. I smell a sequel here. Great job, CJ! Take good care of yourself, goat-buddy!
Benji Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 ...............Great Chapter!!! CJ!! Brings the confrontation to a close, with a mess on your hands goat!!, thank G-d the General will be in the mix of this. Perhaps offering a counter attack, but he is clueless in the invasion, was it because he was thinking of a romantic venture with Felicia? Could the Scar be just jealous? What could possibly go wrong here? Eric might be the key here, his intuitiveness nature may save the groups ass again. Hummm, why all the flack about the marines?? (Jarheads, btw I hated that term) I think the General isn't going to give Scar that much time, the US is swooping in as we ponder the next chapter or two!! Sigh, the tequila sunrises will be spilled here, and they are expensive at any resort (ask any goat)!! Jim's honeymoon will be memorable though, maybe he can get a group hug photo with Yuri and Scar, after all honeymoon photos are priceless!!! Humm, will the press get there in time?? Perhaps another photo shot opportunely for the Scar, or Instinct, then again how photogenic is Helen?? I think a refund may be in order from the resort if things get out of hand!! Err, but the illegal parking may cost that one. Brian is too happy, well fed and clean, maybe he will be a bit angry with Scar ruining his vacation. Great Chapter CJ!!
Conner Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Why did Scar take the time to tell Yuri that he hasn't had much night time jumping experience? It would be great if Scar jumped right into the volcano! That way this whole island invasion thing will be over quickly and we can focus on the lovin', male exotic dancers and pool parties!
hh5 Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Jane spoke "Awww, Eric you bought me such a big mother day present!!! And you say the General bringing me a present too!!"
Phantom Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 *pokes his head into the room and cautiously takes a seat* Great job CJ! I finally had the chance to catch up on all of the chapters I missed on cus I was to busy Btw - Can you do me a favor and let me know the next time your gonna leave your cliffside hovel? I might be moving soon and seeing how you attract natural/man-made disasters, I rather be safe and stay at least 1,000km from you Eric
jfalkon Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Great chapter, goat buddy! I hope you feel better soon. All that volcanic ash must be hard on the lungs. Maybe you should avoid volcanically active cliffs for a while.
C James Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Cliff. Slowly getting better. Flu takes a while to get over, but so far, so good. I'm sick of being sick, lol. Cliffhangers? What cliffhangers??? All plot aspects will be wrapped up by the end of the story, one way or another. There won't be a sequel, so that's a requirement. Felecia and the General make a great pair IMHO... Imagine, too, Brian at any kind of event (such as a promotion celebration) where he has to introduce his family... "This is my dad, the renegade General... and this is my stepmom, the mercenary commander, but she's turned over a new leaf and hasn't nuked anyone... lately." Yes, there were some good yuks in this chapter. Keith and Brian....I like it. I think CJ will just leave it in the "sparks" stage. I smell a sequel here. Great job, CJ! Take good care of yourself, goat-buddy! Thanks Conner! I do intend to wrap everything up by the end of the story. What about Jansen and Eric's first date? It had a few little hiccups, but don't most first dates?
C James Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Loved it, Loved it, Loved it . Thanks for the chapter CJ. Are you guys nuts ??? Brian and Keith??? How bout Brian and Jon ? Would definitely be a sequel in the making. Now I know that The Scar has just parachuted in about a mile to the north of the resort, and General Bradson and Felicia are a few miles out from the resort in a car, so I wonder who will make it to the resort quicker. I'm hoping for the General and Fel, cause if the The Scar and his mercenaries come in from the road, then Chase and Brandon are going to be the first two to encounter them. I remember that the resort is basically built on a sheer cliff, so they won't be attacking from the beach but I wonder if The Scar knows this. I'll have to go back and check to see if there is any other references to the geography of the resort in hope of finding that everyone will only have to defend the resort from one front. Better chances. Hope you are feeling better soon CJ. Just promise us that if you think you may be delayed a week, not to leave us with a patented CJ Cliffhanger . You know, like the one that you admitted that you wrote a cliffhanger. . Take care Aww, but Wildone, I never use cliffhangers, so no worries there. I'm working on 38 at the moment, so though there might be some temporary delays, I don't forsee a big one. The flu did indeed set me back on my writing, and as a result 36 was very late going into editing, but I'm trying to catch up again. If you want a peek at the geography of the resort, just look in google earth or google maps. It's based on a real resort at 28
hh5 Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 so far the earth had only one recent natural disaster that tsunami other than that no big asteroids hitting earth - no recent mount st helen type things so we're pretty safe - no idea what will happen on Dec 21, 2012 I hope to be working by then this recession made it hard for me to find a job. Having NF is not easy. Can't wait to see how the general and eric is going to fend off scars surprise attack. Sounds like causualites will occurr unless the volcano ruins scars party.
Phantom Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Ahh, Eric! Have you been tequila'd recently? Well... does happy punch count (Purple Kool-Aid + Tequila + Everclear). According to the bar owner who gave it to me, he said its the best way to deal with drag queens. Needless to say, the tequila made the night more... fun And of course, I always avoid any kind of a cliff. Yea you avoid cliffs like I avoid tequila....

ACK! Doesn't that bartender know the first rule of bartending: "Thou Shalt Not Tequila the Eric!" Is the bar still standing? Er,, for that matter, is the town? BTW, Sorry for forgetting to annonce the chapter titles in advance. A little late, but the one for Chapter 36 is Convergence. It will be up sometime within the hour, as soon as I finish HTML formatting.
