New to gay authors

Recommended Posts

Hello! I'm new to Gay Authors, and would at some stage like to contribute a story or two. I'm nearly completed my very first novel (a psychological thriller) which involves a gay couple: it's not pornographic or crude but there are erotic moments. To be quite honest I'm not sure if I am gay, but since this novel involves gayness, and the fact that I've joined this site, obviously indicates something. Anyway, I shall be more than happy to contribute a story, when the time is right.

Welcome :2thumbs:.

To be quite honest, I suppose that you are at least bi :D, which means that you could imagine having an "affair" with another guy 0:).

Or am I wrong ?

Old Bob (see my profile !),

expecting your story with great interest.

Welcome to Gay Authors. Being gay is not a requirement for membership. There is a variety of orientations here, including several straight members who are quite active on the site.

Welcome to GA. You being here... perhaps it indicates you're open-minded? :P No seriously, not everyone here is gay, even the guys. Some members are straight, some bi, some are gay, some just don't know. It's okay to still be figuring it out. You'll find someone from just about any walk of life you can think of here, from all over the world. There are all sorts of stories here; gay, straight, bi, sex, no sex, fantasy, modern, happy, sad... as in life, there is a little bit of everything. Add in great topics and information in the Forums and it's a mecca for someone who is writing and/or exploring.

I hope you do contribute sometime! If you aren't ready to release your novel story yet you might consider trying out writing a short story for the anthologies. They're themed and often great fun and other than the theme the rules are pretty wide open. Plus it gives readers a chance to check out your writing without the pressure of keeping up with a long or serial chapter story. If you're interested there is more information in the Anthology Forum. I'd also recommend checking out the Writer's Corner as well. Again, welcome to GA!

Being gay or straight or somewhere in between isn't as important as imagination! And the willingness to put your inner self -- your work -- out there to reach others.

Welcome! Looking forward to seeing this thriller of yours.

We are who we are and if we closed our door to anyone, no matter what their orientation we would be as prejudiced as those we fight againt.

Do you really need to put a label on your sexuality? Just take life as it comes and don't turn love away no matter what package it comes in. I hope you enjoy yourself here and I echo what Cia says... take a look at the anthologies and see if it's something you could try.

I'm looking forward to seeing you around and reading your work

Hello again, and thank you very much for your response. Would you mind if I submit my first chapter? I've completed six out of the ten chapters - the first four and the last two, but have more work to do on the middle sections. Submitting the book in stages gives me extra motivation, and I hope will leave readers desperate for more!

If people weren't allowed to submit WIP's (Works In Progress) most of us would not be able to submit very often ;) I typically try to write ahead on serial chapter stories so I have a good basis and then start posting. It does keep you motivated and you can include tips, ideas, and thoughts that your readers share with you in reviews or comments in your story topic. Go ahead and submit any time you feel like, though please read the help area, faq's and such. It will answer most, if not all, of your questions regarding how to submit and what happens to your story after you do. As always, if you hit any snags or have questions you just can't find the answer to feel free to send me a pm or find me in chat sometime.
