Lugh Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Another favorite: Belleau Wood by Garth Brooks Hey Renee! I got video response for you too! Although I'm sure it won't make you want to gag... or gag me as the case may be. enjoy!
Andrew Q Gordon Posted December 8, 2011 Author Posted December 8, 2011 Since I started the thread I've decided that posting a different version of the same song on the same day does NOT count as another pick. So with that - A Different Chipmunk Christmas Song

comicfan Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Day 9 - I did the play Rock of Ages - The Ellie Greenwich story in college. I found out that she wrote this song for Darlene Love. I've always loved her version of it anyway. Here she is doing it live on David Letterman - Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home).

Andrew Q Gordon Posted December 9, 2011 Author Posted December 9, 2011 What would Christmas be without a bit of Chuck Berry
PrivateTim Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 (edited) This is my father's and his mother's favorite Christmas song. It makes them quite misty eyed. I'll Be Home For Christmas Edited December 12, 2011 by PrivateTim
Lugh Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 ok this one should be fun... and because it's the same song... 1
comicfan Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 and this one i always liked their version of it but Lugh missed one and it was probably one of the first times I heard it. So posting.
comicfan Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Welcome to Day 10! Okay I'm posting two versions of this song. The first is from RuPaul. Yeah, my mother got me this album when it came out. And Naturally you need the original which is one my father had and I heard every year till the album mysteriously vanished. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_VhHqK6yoQ 1
Andrew Q Gordon Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Not sure I can go with the multiple versions of things - mostly because Wayne already posted a version of this as one of his songs BUT, since this was the version I'd always intended to post and I thought this version is the better one, here we go: You're a Mean One Mr. Grinch
Daddydavek Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I know I am really old, but I'm still surprised no one included any christmas songs by Johnny Mathis: This one is from the Tonight Show with Carson and I remember seeing it live, I was in my late twenties.... 1
Lugh Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 herm.... seems we are starting to get some repeats... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PVwhLeKtYE hah not me! 1
colinian Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 This is the funniest Twelve Days of Christmas takoff I've seen. I love their enthusiasm as they perform: Be sure to watch it full-screen and all the way to the end. The Twelve Gays of Christmas: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcwNlfKoDmY&NR=1&feature=endscreen Colin 4
Andrew Q Gordon Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Well Since this is the 25 days of Holiday Songs, here a non-Christmas song. God love South Park
Andrew Q Gordon Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 herm.... seems we are starting to get some repeats... hah not me! Not me either - missy - though you do get two thumbs up for the Sex Pistols Spent way too many hours listening to Never Mind the Bullocks and God Save the Queen - Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten woo hoo This is the funniest Twelve Days of Christmas takoff I've seen. I love their enthusiasm as they perform: Be sure to watch it full-screen and all the way to the end. The Twelve Gays of Christmas: Colin Colin, Who or what were they - by what I mean is it a school group - it looks like it from the gymnasium - if you know.

We ALWAYS had to listen to this growing up, but I always thought it was Nat King Cole who made this famous - but I admit to being ignorant of things.
AnytaSunday Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 This is great, LOL. Cool. Thanks for posting. Now to wrangle the family into a sing-a-long evening.
Adam Thomas Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I feel like I should make a contribution since Lugh had me stop in and look. Two songs that I have always listened to are: 1. 2. Deck The Halls - SHeDAISY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnXaPas3F8Q
comicfan Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 Day 11 - Okay so I was a teenager in the 80s, but they were early 90s and I happened to like them when they were part of a group, so when the Wilson's did their own Christmas Album you can bet I was getting it. This was the big song off the album and I still love it. And sorry I have a list and we will see how many I can get up before others. but I have fall backs. LOL.
