Great chapter, Dom. Reading Rory's thoughts on his life and love are interesting. It's a bit frustrating to a point to read where he is in his reasoning, and seeing that he needs to be somewhere else. His thoughts about leaving seem to waiver, but he seems to hold in the determination that igoing back has to be done.

Out of anyone at this moment in the story, it seems that Luke is more familiar with what Rory is experiencing than anyone. They need to have a chat or two. Did Luke live in the area already or did he move in from another state to be with Eddie and Jase?..I'm not sure if I missed that information.

I HAVE been wondering what Rory is thinking about Seth though. As Aaron again brought it to my mind. Half of being a teenager is dating and hooking up..however, what does he think will happen with him and Seth when he leaves? If there is a him and Seth at that point.. At this point my thoughts lead to rory leaving and going back to grandma. Him and her have a heart to heart, and he realizes that the life that he thought he needed isn't what he really wants. Just a thought, and I'm sure at some point I will change my tune, but at this point in the story that's where I stand in my prediction.

Very sweet interaction with Seth and Rory. ;)

I think Rory is one of those folks that has to learn from his own mistakes. He will go back to his old life and only then will he learn that you can never really go back.

How will Seth react when he learns that Rory is leaving because he wants to and not because he has to. It will be interesting.

It looks like Rory's finally learning how to deal. And more importantly he's learned to take the good, to take the bad, to take them both, and then he has the facts of life.

I hate to admit this as a closet LRITE, but I really like Seth and Rory together. It's really cute. (Yeah, I'm still single and desperate).

I'm almost convinced that Rory will go back home. And at the same time I was convinced that I'd grow in inch in the last 4 years...so who knows.

This chapter got into some things that I had been wondering out loud before ... like why on earth Seth would be willing to get so emotionally involved with Rory knowing that Rory would be leaving at the end of the summer ... and Aaron knows this (I feel bad that I think the same way as someone like Aaron ... ugh) ... and I'm thinking that Aaron is going to try to use this information to try to manipulate things between Rory and Seth. That could be one factor that causes Rory to stay, although I don't think it will be the only one. I think Rory is coming to like the "family" feeling more and more, and it's obvious that the issue is presenting him with a bit of an emotional struggle (understatement) as he tries to reason out the issue both in his own mind and with the others who have started bringing it up with him over the past few chapters.

It was also nice to learn a little more about Luke's past, and the photo album scene was very interesting. I get the impression that Luke was probably a lot like Rory was when he first got there. I'm looking forward to learning more about Luke's past.

And I have to finally admit now that I've pretty much given up on the idea of Luke & Rory. Lately, Luke has shown no signs of jealousy and has been completely supportive of Rory's feelings for Seth. Kind of depressing ... but hey, it's Rory's life, not mine, and if Seth's the one he wants, then more power to him.

And a big THANK YOU to Dom for making the last few chapters longer ... and this one was a nice surprise ... it just *appeared* when I was least expecting it. :D

:great:

I read Chapter 28 in two sittings. I knew I had to leave soon, but I couldn't resist reading all I could when I found that the story had been posted. I did what I could to dry my eyes when I left and hoped they wouldn't be red by the time anybody saw me. When I came back, I finished the chapter and cried some more. I even got misty when reading some of the comments on 28.

About halfway into reading Chapter 29, I noted that this was such a different chapter, and that I wouldn't cry reading this one, not that anything is wrong with crying, especially when reading something like 28.

And then I got to the last few paragraphs, and found myself wiping my eyes again.

It was another great chapter, and apparently a pivotal one.

The discussion of losing someone unexpectedly versus having to let someone go over a long period of time as they waste away was an interesting one. I'm kind of in a similar situation as Rory - my father has cancer. We are hopeful that the treatments will work, but they are definitely sapping the life from him. I'm very thankful that I have the time to be with him up until the end. People who lose someone unexpectedly aren't that lucky, and I can see how they would be left without a sense of clousure.

Great job Dom. Your discussions of poignant issues are always done with a certain grace.

Ah, we need to start the Junior Anti-Sex League of Gayauthors or something. Those of us who just can't seem to find boyfriends could band together. :) Someone want to make the banner?

More on topic, great chapter. I kind of wish Aaron would just dissapear, I would typify these chapters as the calm between the storm. I predict that as soon as they get back from the boat trip something blows up majourly and we're all biting our nails again. That is if they even make it to the boat trip.

I don't think the decision for Rory to stay is going to be based on the current information. I.E. Something's going to change the balance like Grandma Alice having a heart attack. God, what a complexthat would cause. Rory never even spoke and apologized to Grandma Alice before he died. Two family members dead in the last year... Ah that would be evil. I'm looking forward to it.

Anybody else notice that Rory seems to be completely past Aaron? No more feelings of attraction whatsoever that aren't purely biological. And there's no doubt Aaron is working Seth. I'm not sure whether or not it will be successful. There's no law that says Rory has to win in the end...

Am I the only one who was surprised that Luke didn't stay in the changing room with Rory? Just because Rory has given up on Luke doesn't mean that Luke has given up on Rory. Maybe Dom has been holding out on us all along... (I'm still for a Rory & Seth relationship but that Dom is a tricky guy)

Comparing this chapter to the last, I want to say that the climax of the story has come and gone, but I get this nagging feeling that we're in for at least one more ride before the end of the story. That Aaron has me worried.

"Psst. Rory, let me in."

Good, f**king, lord. Why am I cursed with such a dirty mind?? I IMMEDIATELY pictured Rory under his covers, and Luke wanted to get into bed with him!

...

...

...

... please Dom? :lmao:

If it were just me shopping, I would have simply grabbed something in my size, paid for it, and gotten the hell out of there.

I'm finding more and more qualities that Rory and I share with each new chapter...

And Luke is really, really gay.

It took me about a minute to stop feeling uncomfortable about it when she sat on the crescent-shaped bench with me, leaned into my side, and full on wrapped her arms around me as her head lay comfortably on my shoulder. She

I'm still kind of surprised that throughout all of Seth and Rory's conversations (remember, he talked about how, unlike Aaron, he and Seth actually *talked*) that the issue of Rory's rapidly impending departure hasn't come up? And this doesn't bother Seth? Aaron knows about it ... Rory knows about it ... what is Seth thinking?!?! Seth isn't a stupid guy, and unless he's a glutton for punishment, why would he be setting himself up for getting hurt? This just doesn't make sense to me. In that regard, Aaron is really right. And ... it makes me kinda ticked at Rory, because at this point, he still believes that he is going back to Nevada ... he *knows* that Seth really likes him ... yet he's still pursuing a relationship with him ... and in a way leading him on. Regardless of how much of a bastard Aaron is, he is right (until Rory makes up his mind to stay).

Would Seth be enough reason for Rory to stay? If something happens to split up Rory and Seth, would Rory's "new" relationship with his dad be enough for him to want to stay? Would Luke's pleading be enough for him to stay? And what in the hell is up with Luke? Sometimes I wish this story wasn't told entirely in the first-person so we'd have some idea what is actually going on in that boy's head ... doesn't he have a diary or something that Rory could possibly steal and read? *grasping at straws*

So many questions that have yet to be answered ... **sigh**

I predict that Grandma Alice is going to call Eddie to tell him that Nevada is too cold for her old bones and she's moving to Arizona, that way Rory cant go home. She'll show up and Eddie will offer her to stay for a week until she finds a place, but then she'll end up never leaving

Everyone will then live happily ever after(except for Jase, Eddie, Rory and Luke...oh, and Dave.)

I thought that towards the beginning, when Seth was first introduced, Rory mentioned that Aaron had talked to Seth about him. I just assume that Seth already knows Rory is leaving because Aaron told him when the pairing was Aaron/Rory. I

I just wanted more and more....

Well I still want more, but from now on, I will just take what Dom gives us :worship: and enjoy it. No more trying to read between the lines, I'm just going to enjoy it....

I am suprise the whole "Weekend Trip" has not been brought up more by all the LRITE's. It might be the one point in the story where it all changes. In my personal thoughts ,even though I am an LRITE, I still like Rory and Seth for the time being. I just think it is going a little tooo well for it to last, somthing strikes me as not right(deff in this chapter), Rory and Seth might be on barrowed time. If you notice the way the "Weekend Trip" had been brought up in this chapter(Just in passing Coversation) it is very similar to how some of the other big issues have exploded in this story. Guess we just have to wait and see.

Maybe we'll have another Owen/Aiden situation. They go camping "we need to stay warm....let me help you with that"

A few days letter, "I hate when people are idiots, don't you Rory?"

Something bad needs to happen between Rory and Seth before Luke even thinks about trying anything. If Seth stays in the picture Luke won't even consider making a move. At least that's the feelings I get from it. Rory and Seth are a rebound relationship after all...

is it really a rebound though?? a couple of kisses, a bunch of arguing and a bj given...hmm if it were me, i wouldnt consider that anything to rebound from----it might have been a relationship if there had been a hot 69 session, but it was all one way down rory street here. but thats just me, and every1 knows what a slut i am :music:

i also agree---luke wont make a move with seth being around, seeing rory happy.

my prediction of future chapters:

1. grandma alice drives to az to see how rory is doing. while there, she discovers she is a lesbian the same time angela figures out the same

2. grandma alice and angela fall madly in love and run away back to nevada where they are never heard from again.

3. aaron trips on his shoelace and falls face-first in the droppings of a great dane

4. luke and rory fall asleep watching a porno and when they wake up luke is slucking rory.

5. aaron slips up at home and gets kicked out and has nowhere to go, so jase and eddie agree to take on a slaveboy to keep the house clean---however he must sleep in a locked cage and can never talk to luke or rory.

6. seth helps dave figure out that he isnt all that broken up over angela leaving because he is secretly in love with seth.

7. rory plans an orgy for lukes christmas present :2thumbs:
