Openly gay since he was 13, Jack Andraka had to fight hard to get his work noticed after being turned down because of his age. But is now being globally recognized in the fight for early cancer detection in the pancreas! So kudos go out to our gay teens out there! Reach for the stars, and don't let them dismiss you! Not ever!

Jack is awesome.

 

Even with the fame and recognition, he's down to earth, polite and friendly. 

 

He represents our community with class.

This makes me feel dumb for being proud that I put together my new swifter all by myself this past weekend...

Don't feel bad, CB. I never could get mine together good enough to work. I went back to things I could understand like brooms, mops, and old (clean) underwear dust cloths. :gikkle:

Jack has also written an auto-biography, titled Breakthrough, which is an excellent read. His accolades have earned him audiences with the Clintons, the Obamas, and even the Pope. :D
