Cynus Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 I'm currently doing some editing for a friend, and he uses some language I rarely use, and I just realized I'm quite unsure on a capitalization rule. So, obviously you capitalize words like mom/dad when they replace a person's name. Would you do the same thing for something like "little bro"? Would you capitalize just the bro, or would you capitalize both words? 2
Site Administrator Popular Post Cia Posted January 1, 2018 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted January 1, 2018 No, in general terms of endearment (and little bro/sis would fall into that like dear, honey, etc...) that are used occasionally would not be capitalized. Nicknames that are based on descriptions are not generally capitalized either, unless they're used to the extent that they replace the character(s) name(s) for the majority of the story. So calling another character little bro a few times would be left lowercase, but if it were used so much that the characters started to call him 'LB' for short, for example, you would want to capitalize that. Make sense? 5 1

Make sense? Perfect! Thank you so much! 3
