Thanks Dugh and a merry Christmas to you and mom. Funny you choose that pic as I made a ham glazed with brown sugar, apple cider and mustard for dinner. It was very good though some kind of sauce/juice would have been nice.

Unfortunately for me I think this is the last Christmas as a family as we're not really a family anymore (feel free to skip this and ignore me, I just need to rant)

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. I spend a good part of the afternoon cooking and baking. At 6.30pm he left to go see Her-who-shall-not-be-named saying he wouldn't be back until 7.30. I had told my brother to be there at 7pm, everything was ready... dad came back home at 8pm. This afternoon he left to go get his mom while I was cooking. At 11pm after putting his mom to bed he just told me he was going to sleep at HWSNBN while I was making a bed for him in the guess bedroom. I had to explain the situation to my uncle who's my mom's brother... just perfect. I just want to escape this house. He couldn't even make an effort for 2 days! 2 days, is it that much to ask?. I've been home since Friday evening and he hasn't spent one evening with me. I should have just stay at the apartment alone with my cat, I wouldn't be so heartbroken.

Merry Christmas everyone!  

It's a quiet holiday for me this year.  My mom came over tonight and we had some snacks and I had pumpkin chili for dinner.  I made peanut butter bars with salted caramel milk chocolate ganache. We watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation  and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  Tomorrow, I'll have breakfast at my house and open presents from my friends, then head over to my mom's for lunch and dinner.  It'll just be the two of us because of the covid surge here.
