Skillfully avoiding the issue… :P

  Cats and dogs are so different, but they get along with each other and they get along with us. If it wasn't for litter boxes, I would have cats in the house, but been there and done that... and I have a barn the cats love anyway.

It's been ages since I have had one of those :)

They used to be at every BBQ and party when I was a kid.

Be careful what you say; he may just finish the whole platter.  :gikkle:

These are two “old” cookbooks that are still going strong here

The CWA cookbook is in its 56th edition…

This one doesn’t have the stains and smudges of years of use that my grandparents copy did.

The other one is the Golden Wattle cookbook. I think this is edition my Mum got when she left home.

First published in 1924 and last published in 2003. Not a bad run.

And in 1893, this book came out saying we should eat more salad and vegetables, exercise and dress appropriately for the weather. He was an advocate for much more variety in the diet and not sticking to cabbage and potato. This could have been written today - apart for the recipes being a little plain (herbs and spice were not invented yet)
