  It rained all day and now it feels like walking through pea soup, it's so muggy out.  Temps are in the low 80s, but it feels much hotter due to the humidity.  Tomorrow, we get into the 90s.

After my mom left my dad, with three growing boys, she had to find ways to be able to feed us... my father wouldn't pay the support he was supposed to, and my mother made a 'woman's' wage. We liked molasses sandwiches... but macaroni and stewed tomatoes was not as popular... nor was kidney beans.

Well the storms today, plus scavengers have rendered it... pretty gross   I keep forgetting to call the town

Yeah molasses sandwiches definitely sounds better.  We used to love cinnamon and sugar sandwiches.  A little bit of butter on bread, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.  I liked it even better on toast.  It''s amazing what moms can come up with on a tight budget.
