It's cooler here today, but still hot. I was going to paint the bottom half of a window, but by the time I swept it, I was sweating. Then there is the scraping and sanding... all with one arm. I gave up and came back into the cool.   Hey, Adi.

G'day y'all. Yep. It's still hot, 92/33° heat index is 108/42°. The forecast is for temps in the upper 90's and heat index close to 115/46°. I'm hoping the forecast is correct and that this heat wave will break overnight. It's predicted we'll back to seasonal weather in a couple days. Meanwhile the pup and I are hiding indoors. We did go for a walk this morning at dawn. It was warm but not as bad as a couple days ago. No fog and the occasional sigh of air movement.

Life is good thanks, Gary. Met an old friend for a long chat over breakfast this morning. Followed that with a visit to an Arts Festival in a nearby town. Then grocery shopping and home. Have bread rising at the moment, and the oven heating for the baking of same. Been raining almost all day, but it's summer, so at least the rain is warm.

29... feels like 34 here today. It's an improvement, but still feels disgusting. At least the barn feels cooler.

She's fine. She's eating well, and she's not sweating at all. I haven't needed to hose her down today.

We could use some rain. I've been watering my potted plants and the newly planted ones but this heat and bright sun is taking a toll on the lawns. So far the local crops seem to be doing okay. The ground was moist when this started.

I just read a forecast that has t-storms with the potential for heavy rains in the area tomorrow and cooler less humid area by late Tuesday.

And the Irish and Scots (and the Manx people in the Isle of Man) belong to the Gaelic branch, whereas the Welsh, Bretons (Brittany, or Bretagne, in northwest France), and the Cornish people belong to the Brythonic branch. The words celt and celtic officially start with a hard C sound (like the letter K). Oddly enough the Scottish soccer team Glasgow Celtic use a soft C sound for their name (like the letter S).

Cornwall has an interesting history. In 1497 the Cornish people staged a rebellion against the English Crown, and an armed band of Cornishmen, some 15,000 strong, marched upon London. They were defeated at the Battle of Deptford Bridge (also known as Battle of Blackheath), which took place on 17 June 1497 on a site in present-day Deptford, in south-east London, adjacent to the River Ravensbourne. Henry VII had mustered an army of some 25,000 men and the Cornish lacked the supporting cavalry and artillery arms essential to the professional forces of the time. I've spent the afternoon separating the red currants from their little branches while watching the season 3 of La Casa del Papel and then *drum rolls...* the miracle happened!

Still half of the currant lelf though.
