I guess we have a pretty good idea of who the 'photographer' was now ... David. But we're still not any closer to figuring out the mystery ... :( And Mr. Crook, the volunteer sheriff, was totally icky.

I think the 'first kiss' scene has become Dom's trademark. The kiss between Frank and Oliver in this chapter was written sooo well. I think Rory and Seth's first kiss in DD is still the champ of Dom's kissing scenes, but this was also extremely well-written -- the hesitation, trepidation, anxiety, and acceptance. What's surprising is that prior to this, there had really been very little to hint that either Frank or Oliver would be gay, other than David's vague comments to Oliver in the very beginning. And it's worth noting that the term 'gay' didn't even come up. I like reading stuff like this, a really good story that doesn't revolve around the sexuality of the characters, although it's still there in the background.

Fabulous chapter, Dom! :2thumbs:

It looks to me like it was David who took the picture, and also David who attacked Frank and Oliver. This does not bode well for the "David and Oliver are one person" theory. :/

I still wonder, though, based on Oliver's conversation with David through the window, those bruises, etc.

Hmmmm.. A wild guess here: What if David is a ghost, that can manifest? Or, what if he is a projection of Oliver's subconscious?

I'm loving this. LB gave most of the reasons. Maybe David took Rudy's photo, but I'm going to hold out until irrefutable proof or we are introduced to Jeremy Flaskis. Let's see if he's "tall".

I, too, am wondering what happened to Mr. Dron.

Logically, we could assume that David was the shadowy figure behind Crook's car, since it would be unlikely that Mr. Dron would spend the night wandering the woods when he is "neighbors" with the Seabergs. On top of the fact that David commented on Oliver having woken up late, which suggests that he'd been walking around for several hours after Crook's visit.

Still, it seems odd that David and Oliver's parents didn't appear to be concerned with David's whereabouts that morning, considering that if he'd just come back in the late morning then they must have noticed his absence at some point. But, I think this scene is major evidence that David and Oliver are two seperate people. David admitted to having taken the picture, which was taken from outside the seaberg home, while Oliver was inside the home. I'm still not coming to any conclusion until we know what Mr. Dron's story is.

Ok Im pretty new around here and this is the first post Ive made but I just have one question. What ever happened to Mr. Dron stopping by to check on Frank and Oliver? I still hold out on the Oliver and Davide are one. The comments that David made are ambiguous at best and if Oliver believes it was David taking the pictures wouldn't his sub-concious account for that?

Okay, this chapter gave a lot of 'evidence' to the idea of David and Oliver being seperate people, however, they still could be the same person.

I am very curious as to where Mr Dron was.

The Sheriff was gross.

This chapter really really freaked me out.

I loved the kissing scene.

The Sheriff may play an important part later... I am thinking this because we were told so much about him for him to be not important.

I loved this chapter, and I LOVE this story!

I'm just...confused.

Once again dom wins at keeping us all questioning.

(And just cause I've wanted to use this icon forever but never found the right occasion: :stupid: )

Congratulations on your first post!! Thanks for joining us!

I think you are on to something regarding Mr Dron's absence, especially as it coincided with some odd noises.

What is puzzling me is the attack: If that was David, then they are separate people, but if so, why would he hit Oliver?

Well I think David and Oliver are different people now. I was thinking they were the same, but I've always been flip-flopping between the two ideas. I think with this chapter there are a lot of evidence that supported that David and Oliver were two different people. I could very well flip again when Chapter six comes though. :sheep:

Oliver and David both know the area where Frank lives very well. Since Oliver was changing and their father away I think the person who took the picture was David. I mean if it were an adult I doubt Frank could've taken him down as easily as he did. We don't know if that Jeremy guy would be that bold or even if he can take pictures. If we knew the time it actually takes to drive out away from Frank's house and how long it takes to get across the lake we'd know if it was David or not. Oliver also seemed slightly confused when David appeared at the window as well. Like he was looking at a mirror instead of his brother. There wasn't any reason for David's personality to be showing through in the window scene as well.

Atleast we know though that it could be anyone since there is a Photography club now.

That Mr. Dron guy.. still confused about him.

It could be me, but I feel so many different things while reading this story. When Oliver and Frank were in the living room it was nice. I was disgusted when the Sherrif was described...eew. Troubled when Frank was scared in the forest and confused by the window scene at the end.

So there you have it... I'm still confused.. lol.

I too thought that David and Oliver were one person - possibly, in the first two chapters, kinda hoping that they were, since I've not read a story at this site or elsewhere in gay fiction where the main character had split personalities. But (sigh) there's always the next story. Nevertheless, I thought that this chapter and the whole story thus far is great. Thanks, Dom.

I'm still really pulling for the David=Oliver theory so:

Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that David was the photographer. He just doesn't want Oliver telling him what to do. It could still have been someone else entirely like a certain neighbor-man who wants to get friendly with the new family and their daughter. Where was he?

I agree. David's comment at the end was merely to tell Oliver he can do what he want, not solidifying the theory that he was the guy with the camera. But still, we don't really know... and that's what really makes this story sooo good.

I loved the kissing scene, but the kiss most memorable to me is still Rory and Luke's *giggles. Don't get me wrong though.. i still love Seth.

Anyway.. the story didn't really scare me, it creeped me out before, until now. When it said "besides, what he was holding could have been anything besides a camera" or something.. that was just too freaking creepy. I think Black Jacket guy killed Mr. Dron. :o

God this story is awesome.

It was good to see Angela make it out from Arizona for a visit with Frank and his family, too :)

Aww, you noticed Angel first...though I can't remember who she is exactly...One of Luke's friends, I think...

In Chapter 1, Frank assumes that Oliver is his age, and later puts Oliver's age at 17. So I'm guessing Frank is 17. Mentally, he's mostly turned the adolescent corner towards adult, which is consistent with being 17 or more. Anyway, a medium-sized 17-year-old boy could bring down almost any adult from behind.

David & Oliver...still one and the same. :P
Yesyes, they are. But who's the other creep?

Mr. Dron? Nah, it doesn't seem likely, he was described as old and Frank was chasing our bad guy for quite some time without success.

I don't think so. From his description, I don't think he could run 10 yards if he needed too.
