Appears every other State is getting rain and floods other than the PNW. I sure hope all that flood water in Vegas and NW Aridzona is making its way into Lake Mead.. Almost forgot, there is a hurricane a ways off the west coast of Mexico (south west of Baja California) and appeared to be heading for the Calif coast. Update: for the past 3 days, have had buckets of rain falling here and another 2 days are in the forecast. Sorry Cia..

My brain has melted - where I reside has seen high temps in July that no one in living memory has ever seen, and yes I asked a lot of old timers. 21 days, continuous, of 90+ temps, 4 days of 100+, including today. And no rain. Dunno where Myr's enchanted castle is, hopefully he is making use of his water-filled moat. Course if was my moat, I'd put big blocks of ice in it..

I was getting into the story but then all this religious claptrap appeared, no thanks.

I am enjoying this story! Am wondering what that whoosh sound was all about many chapters ago, who the triplets are, and all the other miniature cliffhangers. Can't say my college experience was anything like this, course that was back when dinosaurs roamed the earth....

Am curious to know which sea shanties Quokka will use in his story (Thunder struck isn't old enough to be a shanty..) This isn't old enough either, but it is somewhat famous:

The various allergies kind of surprised me when they appeared, like eggplant, same reaction as walnuts. Then in 2004 it was tomatoes, can't touch the plant without gloves, touching the inside of a cut tomato and I get a rash on the arm... When I was a kid/teen ate lots of cherry tomatoes right off the plant, not any more. Nightshade plants are off limits unless I'm dressed in a hazmat suit. lol

What is more of an interest to me is if researchers can discover what is causing allergies in kids and seeing if those same causes are affecting older people. For example, I discovered that I was allergic to peanuts in a rather dramatic way 3 years ago, was eating cashews and a friend said I all of a sudden started turning colors, ending with dark gray. In case people are unaware, cashews are cured in peanut oil and no manufacturer uses any other type of oil. I have to read labels of food items to make sure it doesn't contain anything that I am allergic to and peanuts or its oil are in a lot of things. Peanuts are the latest food allergy for my list of what I can't eat, a list that started when I was 6 when it was discovered I was allergic to yuckamadoes (avocado) - My mom's friend had an orchard of them and had invited me to go pick them off some trees. What wasn't mentioned that me wearing sandals meant that I would be walking in rotten fruit on the ground and that's what started a visible reaction of the allergy - My feet and ankles swelled up like Popeye's arms. Between my mom and doctors, we discovered that the oil around the avocado pit is also very much like the oil found in a number of other nuts, like walnuts, hazelnut, Brazil nuts.... I recall eating walnuts and having odd like pimples appear in the roof of my mouth so even as a younger kid would take walnuts out of food I'd eat just to avoid that reaction. As I said though, am very interested in knowing what are the root causes of allergies, is it something in the environment or something humans have done?!?!?

It is interesting how so many stories on GA by the various authors are on some kind of hold.. I would have expected POD to have been completed years ago yet it is now TEN years later and still, nothing.

While I understand what Comicality says, eons ago I used to write a single gay erotic fantasy story about someone I knew in real life on a topic I actually knew something about. It was my way of forever remembering them as friends. And no, none of those stories became real as I was very much happy with my boyfriend at the time and what we did together in life never made it into any story.

Overall, the story reads very well and the deafness was a bit of a twist to me as I have not read the story you referenced from the other GA author. However, an editor really needs to examine the story as there are a few places where it is very much garbled.

79 pages of pictures to view... sheesh. I cheated, read the first 11 pages and skipped to the end. So I don't know if Myr ever dropped his invisibilty cloak and posted a picture. And noticed a bunch of photos no longer work. And even though I am new, figured I'd post my photo. And my new puppy on Halloween, 2008.. She was in her costume.
