  1. Hiding by Cia What forces a person into hiding? How do you find them when they are too afraid to come out? :nuke: :nuke: Spoilers Below!!! :nuke: :nuke:
  2. Ha-Ha!!!! You win, I lose!!! (and how often is that a good thing?!!!) Enjoy your crown my dear, it was well-earned!!!
  3. Well you know my take on most of the stuff you've said, we've talked off and on. Can I say as a first time momma I was sooo surprised at how perfect the babies were at just 12 weeks. All the important stuff is done at that point and you just wait for them to get less 'alien big-headed' and grow more. I'm glad your surrogate is being healthy cause giving that stuff up during summer months suck! No cantaloupe (listeriosis), no soft serve ice cream because of bacteria in the machines, soda, caffeine, extra salt, sugar, undercooked anything, unpasteurized anything... yeah, no fun ANyway, hugs!
  4. Some of my stories are popular, some aren't. I get comments from some people on my profile, via pm, or reviews. Honestly, I love hearing about people's thoughts but I'm okay without them. That being said, feedback does drive writers to produce more and better work usually. We learn through feedback, we get ideas and generally feel more positive when we feel others are enjoying our creations, which leads to more writing. As a beta I usually support my writers by leaving reviews or forum comments, encouraging them personally, and sometimes talking up their work in chat, places like that. Writers as a whole need support on the site too. Checking out stories in the Sneak Peek forum, responding and participating in conversations about different aspects of writing in the Writer's Corner is also helpful. We always have things we can learn from each other about writing so it's great to be involved with the other writers on-site because that leads to enrichment for everyone. GA Stories is a great tool for allowing readers to find what they want and the review system is relatively easy to use. At this time we have to link to the discussion forum in the stories but that was the same on e-fiction as well. I like that the authors information is clearly visible on their profile page, including likes and the story listing if they have them. All in all, my opinion is most of the features are there to make the site very supportive for the writing community, we just need to get more people participating. Stories don't promote themselves, writing doesn't get better if we don't work at it, and I ALWAYS want to know if there is a good story out there I might have missed reading.
  5. Okay, so I haven't read all of this stories personally but quite a few I did in the past or I read part of as I moved things over. I also opened the tag browsing option, chose coming of age stories, then refined the search to have them with completed status over 10k and got 2 pages with stories that aren't all on your list. You can do the same with the coming out tag. Also, on crvboy you might check out Sara Bell, her stories are good. On AD you might check their best of Nifty page for recs of 'good' stories, you can always see what info you get for category if they go back to Nifty or just try reading a little. That's tedious, I know, I'm fortunate to be a speed reader. At least GA is pretty searchable. There is quite a bit here you haven't read yet by some very good authors. Altimexis has a series of interconnected stories called Naptown Tales that involve usually high school age characters and various issues pertaining to sexuality. Coming of Age stories, over 10k in GA Stories: Are you Christian by Krista Black Star Crossing by Young Sage. Blind Sensations by Ricky. Carter's Saga by Christopher P. Lydon (has 3 books, all long) Life's a Grind by Jack Sage The Pastel Cowboy by Carl Holiday You Pass This Way But Once by Bill W
  6. Great chapter! It was sooo interesting learning about how the whole were/vamp/werevamp culture/change happens in your storyline. I could almost feel how happy Richard was, it was very evocative.
  7. Oooh... lotsa Andy, in quotes, so he can't make it go away. Neener neener neener! Nice pics guys!! (try smiling Andy, we know you have it in you!)
  8. Happy Birthday!!

    Hobbies

Well I do photography, as anyone who has been in chat with me on a day I take pictures can attest I also really enjoy hiking, the kids and I do a lot of it during the summer, there are a ton of trails within an hour of my house with a lot of scenic areas which just feeds my photography. I am also a hunter, my husband and I both use bows so I practice that year round. Reading, writing, baking... that about sums me up!
  10. Happy Birthday! For you, from me. Do the clickie clickie. Yums!
  11. uselessly **there's a word I'm familiar with**
  12. I write some sex. Not a lot, and not the play by play variety. I don't get into the super flowery 'oceans flowed and heavens moved' analogies for it either. I try to keep erotic without being graphic. For me it varies how much I will put in, depending on the story itself. Is the sex part of the story for a reason? Usually. Honestly, there is a time and place for it and it is quite often a vital part of any new relationship (something I tend to write about). I don't like to slide characters into bed right off though. In life and in fiction, I like to think that taking the time to enjoy kissing, making out, drawing out the passion, makes those first times so much more meaningful. I try to show that fundamental place sex has to people but keep it from being overdone. I like to read sex scenes, I don't skip them unless they don't ascribe to that same philosophy. Jack off stories, ones with poorly executed sex scenes visually, will usually turn me away from a story.
  13. LOL, great pics Soup! Too funny. Enjoy Uni! It'll be great I'm sure!

    Proactive pays off

Okay, maybe he's just a fan of historical action flicks like 300 and Arthur and stuff. With the new movie, Eagle, out in theaters that genre is getting a little bit of a revival. Or he could like looking at hot guys, who knows? First, props for being proactive! Way to go Vic!!! Two, the 'owe him something' bit. Check out the next time he's gyming. Does he have a water bottle, towel, idk, whatever else a gym guy might need? Getting him something and saying thanks again for the workout thing, I tried it and such and such... might open up another opportunity for dialogue between you guys. Who knows, he may be interested, he may just become a friend. Either way is sort of win/win right?

    Story

You'll not find that lust in my stories too often actually. I do include sexual activity when it fits in with the plot but this wasn't that kind of story. Really it had no big idea behind it but was just a showcase of two people, how they meet, and the potential that is there in the beginning of a relationship, friends or dating. For the most part a good relationship doesn't exactly start with sex, at least not in my mind. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I like to hear other's opinions on my stories. It gives me good ideas what works and what doesn't.

    "Hey Vic!"

LOL! Told you not to do that! Be proactive. Talk to him, maybe he feels the same way you do and was waiting for you to say hi? Ever think of that?
  17. Hugs Owl. I think we fans can keep our love of your stories while you are dealing with life. Never apologize for going through a tough time dear, we are here to help and support you, so of course you should share. My ear is always open if you need to talk, even if it's via email. Take care of your family and yourself. We'll still be here when you get back.
  18. I'll give her the rep, lmao that was funny! And yeah, I've had that before, people peeking. Ticks me off. Luckily the netbook screen is really small. On another note, try shrinking your window you write on to just a few lines, if possible. That makes it really hard for an 'eavesreader'
  19. Awwww, I love your humor. Told you that you should have taken paper and pen. Think of all the writing you could have done. I take my netbook to dr. appts, car service, kids movie trips... it's all time to write.

    Chapter 4

LOL. Well then I managed to surprise you again, yay! I think that hesitation when we are trying to find out if someone of the same gender is interested is often a nervous anxious time. I didn't want to draw it out too much here though. Marc and Nat's story continues in Paper Trail which I will finish!!

    Chapter 3

Of course. The bond of the older sibling is very strong. I wanted a close family relationship in this story and when I 'saw' Marc that was just a trait of his that was really obvious in my head. Thanks so much for the great review.

    Chapter 2

I'm glad the plot didn't fizzle here. The bubble yum scene Well I think that all of us at one point or another have done or liked something 'juvenile' and been embarrassed about it. It just fit with the story. I'll check the edit on this one. Thanks!

    Chapter 1

Thanks for the review. Nat isn't fully realized in this story as I went on to shift to his pov in Paper Trail but I do definitely like him. Preston... yeah, someone had to be the original villian
  24. Where is he doing that? All of the previously posted stories on his GA website were moved into GA Stories last month and I don't see anything beyond those in either place.
