  1. Thank you Cia. Your info here is so right to the moment! When I read a particular post/storydirective I evaluate it and decide right then--'this was good/bad' or something not even worth rating. As for the ratings. Gold stars? I see them all over the place but I have never opened my peepers wide enough to see how to 'use' them. And from reading other post(s), I'm not the only one who has no idea how to use 'em. My personal opinion is that I like the review option: whether that be in the forum section or the story section. However! It seems rather redundant to me to post a review in the chapter/story area and then do it again in the story thread. ? I'm open here. There is no way that I would read a piece of literature and not comment on it in a friendly way. Whether I liked the presentation or not, I would be positive in my remarks, or I would not comment. There are so many authors here who plead with us readers to be honest with them--tell them--the yeas and/or nays of their stories. That's fine to a degree. I won't hurt another person's feelings over something that is important to them and , while interesting to me, was not from my bosom! ok out thanks for listening, Cia.
  2. Mr. Tipdin sir, If I could give you a dozen (or more) positive votes for this post I most certainly would! What is a "rep" supposed to do? I breifly disappeared from GA, and came back to find astronomical reputation points posted to people who ...did WHAT?...to 'earn' those points? IMHO! pos and neg means nothing unless you actually read the stories AND the posts on the various threads! AND, if you have done THAT, then it's like comparing your opinion with that of a movie critic (nameless) whether thumbs 'up' or thumbs 'down'! It is your OPINION only. Why should Joe Shmoe give a rats ass what "I" think about a particular topic/story--but more importantly, why should MY opinion make someones rating go down? just asking As I drag myself out of the cellar, sir,I feel glad that I am ALIVE! hugs
  3. Andy!! I WONDERDED why no other entries were here!! Damn! Since it appears that you have just started this story and I, on the other hand, have just finished (caught up with) it--let me tell you all you need to know w/out going through all of those reviews! jk What a fantastic story-all twisty and turney! ENJOY!!
  4. II'm staying in MY neck of the woods, Andy! btw still have the fingers crossed
  5. Outstandingly funny--along the lines of the dolls out of the truck bed!!
  6. I wish for you and mom to have a safe trip back to comfort the young fellow. Hang in there, Ricky. edit: page bottom--page top.
  7. I gave you my feelings over somewhere else--you know. On this thread I'm feeling a lot better, though! Have a safe trip back to us and give a big huggie to Dustin!
  8. I'd lean more toward funny as hell...oh wait...Christ!!!
  9. Ricky. Jesus, man! I so didn't want to hear this! What a wake-up call to all of us about how quickly life can turn upside down. My tears and prayers (ya- I still pray) are with and for you and Dustin and Mom. I really wish I could simply make it all just go away, but we know that won't work. It's been FOREVER since I thought someone needed a hug like I'm giving your family at this moment, and you have it now. Keep the strength, buddy! Dave
  10. "Also I bite the poor doll's hands and feet and even noses....." Soooo--you have met 'Nephylim'! tsk!
  11. You have no idea how hard it is to NOT comment about something that you already know.
  12. Our dear MYR, A heartfelt "Happy Birthday" and thank you so very much!
  13. Here we go-- You must realize that I was a bit younger than now. edit: WAY too big!

    Chapter 1

I really enjoyed this, Nephy! That surprises me, considering the content. While it doesn't actually 'glorify' suicide, it allows someone who has been forced to reconsider his life's destiny, a final chance to find peace, which he does. hugs I'm really glad that just after the moment of commitment, you didn't turn Daniel's *answer* into some sort of monster-- thereby destining him to a hereafter of "Hell". Thanks, Nephy! I loved it!

    Waiting For Death

WOW, Nephy! You have a wonderful way of making one's skin crawl! *shivers* Although this was a 'Short Story', you (and SO typically Nephy) made it last a lifetime for our tortured friend. I wonder why something so horrible can hold us with such overpowering excitement? I can only guess that there is a bit of the torturer in each of us. hmm Now I'm going to stick my neck out here! No sooner had the story ended, I was flooded with thankfulness that Galen had relieved the pain of our friend. Also I believe that the other voices he heard belonged to other of his friends who had passed on before him. And I have to confess that I did not make the connection about a lover being the rescuer, but in hindsight I suppose .... Riveting story, you! Thank you!

    Effy's Home

Thanks for this story, Nephy. Every now and then a short story acts as a bit of a cleansing prior to tasting the wine, and this one became both the rinse AND the wine! The sweetness here came from using innuendo, rather than detail, in describing WHY Effy had missed all of those appointments--Why he was hurting. But good Lord! "Anger rolled over him like pus from a lanced boil." eewwww. I absolutely LOVED the story, Nephy! huggies ps: I've some catching up to do, huh? p
  17. Did you like what you saw?

  20. I know that it took a LOT of emotional and financial hardship over these past months for you guys to get this far. Andy. I'm betting that you and your heart partner are going to sit back in 20 or 40(?) years with grandkids on your laps and just---wonder--"What if we had given up?" I am SO with you two on this energy that you guys are putting into this! Hugs to you and Mike! Dave
