For Halloween, I'm gonna be giving out candy. There will be pictures of this, right? I mean how else will we be sure you actually did it.

Does that even exist?

Why would anyone think I'm an interesting topic to discuss?

Can we talk about anything except chocolate, Mark and Stuby, and being naked?

[Andrew_Q_Gordon] Purpose
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Andrew Q Gordon's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
Chapter 21 is up - Am going to try very hard to keep to a Thursday post schedule - this is two days early so expect the next chapter next Thursday. There are about 10 chapters left. I'm getting ready to wrap this up, but there will be a bit more action in the last chapters starting about chapter 24 or 25. Sooo, please let me know, because as you all know, my time is taken up with the wee little one so I'll need all the coaxing and encouragement I can get. yes that was a shameless plug for reviews and comments I won't deny it. https://www.gayauthors.org/story/Quonus10/purpose/21 -
Can we stop with the innuendo's and discuss something of substance?

Chapter 8: Truth and Trouble
Andrew Q Gordon commented on intune's story chapter in Chapter 8: Truth and Trouble
Well then, since you love comments let me be sure to make one; You're so evil! First you're going to torture poor Lucca - he's going from no one to everyone wanting him, Sam likes him, now Jeremy is having him 'sleep' over, and then of course there is Matt who has to secretly like his as much as Lucca likes him. [but of course Matt has no idea Lucca is gay either so that's a problem for Matt and his feelings.] Once all of this gets out, poor Lucca is going to have a HUGE mess on his hands, compliments of . . . YOU! As I said, you're evil. AND if that wasn't bad enough, you left us hanging - again. Sigh, guess that's the mark of a good story and a good chapter, you left us anxious for more. -
Funny how a transitional chapter for you, means a return of 'old' - dare I say butt pirate - friends for George. Nice to see they left port safely this time and George made it safely back to Gaitling. Still waiting to see what happens when Roberts get back.

Should I give up a $50,000 a year career I hate for a possibly di
Andrew Q Gordon replied to Syniq's topic in The Lounge
I'm probably a terrible person to give advice on this because this is what I wished I'd done but didn't. As most know I'm a lawyer - prosecutor actually - and while I love my work and job - it's a good office with great, generous, friendly people - I hate my work. I know. What I mean is I wanted to ditch law and do something else, I don't know what, but anything NOT in an office. I hate that I bring work - even if it's not 'work' I bring my work home with me - Even at home I'll stew about cases, idiot defense counsel, stupid judges you get the idea. So for me, I wish I'd followed my heart and left the law 20 years ago and set out to find what made me happy - The reason I didn't was I met Mike - my partner. He wasn't the type to ditch the job and go in search of what makes him happy. He's always wanted to own a nursery or a landscape architect business, but he worried about paying the rent etc. Although I had money saved for my 'search', I stashed it and we moved in, etc. Fast forward, we dreamed, we had fun, we bought a house, we got dogs, bought a new house, talked about kids, bought this house, had a kid, and viola, in a position from which I can't easily get out. My point isn't my life sucks, far from it, but IF you want to do something different, the time to do it is BEFORE you take on obligations. Mortgage, partner, kid etc. Each new addition makes it harder to follow your dream because each new addition adds a layer of responsibility. Now at the risk of my immortal soul, I'm going to disagree with Nephy. Yeah you are young and have time, but don't think there were be a better time in the future. Chase your dreams while you're young. IF it doesn't work out, you have time to recover and rebuilt. If you try it when you're my age - and things don't work out, you have so much less time to recover and rebuild. As I said at the start, I'm probably a bad person to give advice because I wish I had followed my heart and not chased a paycheck and a house etc. I might be better off if i had done it, but maybe not. So, unless you're the type to worry about money and what will happen to you if you fail etc, I'd do what will make you happy, but not without a bit of planning and extra thought. Following one's dream doesn't mean doing it foolishly or haphazardly. Not sure I helped, but that is my opinion. Andy- 14 replies

Chapter 27 - Doubts and Reality
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 27 - Doubts and Reality
Meh, I don't see what all the fuss is about finding a way to work in the the title to the story somewhere in 80k words. Hehe, sorry couldn't resist. So are you going to be change from Dr. Evil to Dr. Nice or is another shoe gonna fall next chapter?? -
Chapter 26 - Scott's Past
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 26 - Scott's Past
This is why you don't date a newbie - they have no experience to draw on. Charlie would have no doubts about why Scott would want him if he was well immersed in gay culture - he's a chicken and Scott's a chicken hawk - nuff said -
Chapter 25 - Good News, Bad News, and Complications
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 25 - Good News, Bad News, and Complications
You are something else. You new name is Dr. Evil. Yup. And your a tricky little dickens to boot. You figured everyone would suspect it was Cameron, Scott was hiding, but it's some dude named Andrew [bTW all Andrew's I know are TROUBLE]. Glad I didn't bother trying to predict this one. -
Chapter 24 - Heart Matters
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 24 - Heart Matters
haha so you threw an ex into the mix eh? So they all want Charles in Charge eh? Sounds like material for a sit-com . . . oh wait, they did that already Despite all the road blocks you set for Charlie a part of me thinks things are working out a tad to easily for him - which of course means evil Wayne is about to toss another monkey wrench into things Evil man, evil evil man. -
B-man, I was going to make a humorous response, but then I didn't think that was appropriate, so let me say, I'm sorry you went through that and that you didn't find him. Now me? I'm a shotgun man myself. I'm deadly at 10 feet. But that's okay, I'd want him to know it was coming if he did that to my daughter.

Can anyone be 100% sure? Doesn't there have to be a smidgeon of doubt in everything?

Chapter 23 - The Morning After
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 23 - The Morning After
You are an evil man, Wayne. Evil, evil, evil. You couldn't, just couldn't let the boy have one nice day without doing something to muck it up. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Remind me to vote for someone else when they're electing God. -
Doesn't there need to be a valid question before he can answer?

Chapter 22 - Making Time
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 22 - Making Time
Boy Chuck is a fast learner isn't he, from straight boy to full on, I wanna get it in, in about a month - whew. One thing, if Scott is this hunka hunka burning love with these massive shoulders and legs, how'd he hurt his back pickin up little Chuck? Seems awful fishy to me, like he was trying to get a chance to stay over. But that's just me - -
Chapter 21 - And a Time to Give Thanks
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 21 - And a Time to Give Thanks
Walbaum's? Not King Kullen? Grandma LOVED Walbaum's but I haven't heard that name in years so it made me smile. Of all the people to single out, I suppose Rick figured his younger brother was the only one who was fair game; Rick - Tonya would kill him, Becca, he'd have to deal with Bobby, Charlie - well no one but mom and dad - schmuck So Scott invites himself over for the nite and sleeps on the couch?? And I though chivalry was dead. I guess I didn't know that Scott was pushing 50, I figured mid thirties, but if Richard was the 27 when Chuck was born, that means he's 51-52. Do I have the age wrong? I mean Charlie said someone your age, but that didn't mean exactly Rick's age - so gonna tell me or do I have to go find that ineffective Turban? -
Chapter 20 - And Thanksgiving was Around the Corner
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 20 - And Thanksgiving was Around the Corner
First, small mistake, hell it's what comes of writing something over the span of months, but readers get to read it over the span of days, you forget small things you wrote early, but we remember. You said, Charlie hadn't been to the movies in years, but in chapter one, you wrote, when Tina suggested movies, he bought the tickets, so he'd been to the movies lately, he might not have picked any of them, but he'd been with Tina. Now, for a man who didn't even think he was gay 2 weeks ago, Charlie is on the Coming Out Express. Meet the family, see your student's at the Movies, what's next? Nuptial announcements in the Newsday? -
Me too And hey, I know Hella Busy right about now Mark - I feel ya.

Chapter 19 - Filling in the Blanks
Andrew Q Gordon commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 19 - Filling in the Blanks
It's always good when you can toss in a few surprises like that. Seems that even those who bluster the loudest go meekly into the night when no one is willing to support them. BUT just because Tonya gave it to big Rick, that doesn't mean he has to like who his son is dating or that he is gay - hmm that darn Turban is calling me to make more predictions, but I ain't biting this time, been wrong enough already.
