Siyabonga Tata Madiba. Lala ngoxolo.Sizohlala sekukhumbola.Thank you grandfather (Mandela). Rest in peace. You will always b remembered. Siyabonga. Thank you.
Its a very emotional day here for all of us.
Radio stations are playing Imagine by John Lennon one after the other. This song portrays the ideals that Madiba held high, so much so that we incarcerated him for 27 years.
I say Hamba kahle Tata. Journey well, father.
He earned the respect of the world by not losing hope. Like Jesus, in dying he restored our faith. Madiba has restored humanity in South Africa. He was so right when he said it is futile to think about what happened in the past. Never never and never again will this beautiful land suffer the oppression of its people. He lived for this ideal. He succeeded.
One man made a difference.
One man. To me, that is fantastic.
In South Africa, Madiba is a statue, an icon, a road, a building, a park, he is in every one of our children, he is a hospital, a military base, a bench in a park, a bay, a city, a town, a country, but most of all, we are fortunate to have had him as one of our sons.
I am blown away that the USA will be flying their flag at half staff. Just blown away.
