Thanks Knotne. Being a short story I have to speed the story on. But I'm happy that you are still enjoying.

The annual sardine run off the coast of Kwazulu Natal is a spectacle to behold. There have been shark attacks but very rare. As to your sense of foreboding, be very worried. Or maybe there is no threat at all. Catherine is based on a real person who actually does sone quirky things. Glad you like her. Thanks for reading hugs

Mothers. They are cause and effect. Category one priorities. Corner stones and gunpowder. High priestesses and queens. Effective shoulders to cry on. ‘I hope she doesn’t freak…Hi Mom.’ ‘Hi baby. How are you doing?’ ‘Okay, thanks. Just fine. I’m sleeping over at a friend’s place tonight. I thought I had best let you know not to make dinner for me.’ ‘Okay. You know the drill. Where and who is this person?’ The mother informed is the mother armed. ‘Basil. I don’t want you to worry.

Bryce is a player, and a liar, and he sill nevet find happiness. Kaydon, stand your ground, Bryce is a loser, you don't need losers in your life. I enjoyed this. Just one thing you might concentrate on is tense. Sometimes it changes at random.

William is like me I guess. Says one thing and regrets it the next. I was sure he would walk away, but the neat thing about characters is that they are always surprising me. Will is pushing Basil because he Will is young and altho he's had flings and crushes, he yearns for love. Four years is a long time. Basil already knows that he will get hurt again if he makes the same decision time after time. He's growing up. Thanks for reading. Hugs

Thanks for reading, Nostalgic. I hope that William will also have an affect on you in the next few scenes, scenes that are proving vvery emotional to write as you will see when they appear. Hugs

I second this.

Perfect. That's just the kind of thing I was looking for. South Africans qualify under the FINA rule for swimming. The times are close. The website you quote says 1.00.79 for Breast stroke and FINA says 1.00.86, and for Freestyle there is also a difference of 9 seconds. I think the best way would be to qualify as per your website. Thank you Pecman. Hugs

I fell over laughing in less than the time it would take an olympic swimmer to butterfly the 50m. lol

Thanks rustle. Worked for me.

Okay, found it. Thanks guys.

Thanks guys. I have googled it but wanted to know if there are other factors involved. I'll google again.

A character in one if my stories is a swimmer. He practices in the sea and is an olympic contender. What kind of time should he be reaching for in the 100m breast stroke? That is 50m to the nearest buoy and 50 m back to the beach. Obviously his time would need to meet Olympic qualifying time and is it necessary to meet that when he practices, or would he be swimming in the sea for strength and stamina only? what is the olympic qualifying time? Can anyone help?

The first paragraph is beautifully writren and drew me in at once. I got the feel from the get go that the Unicorn would not survive. In much of your work you delve into the different shades of fear. The young man fears rejection. The unicorn does not fear and maybe he is happy to leave the realm of earth, you do not say. After 500 years I would be more than happy to leave. Humanity has its downside, and I think you explored this quite well. Happy endings? Nope, not from you, but then again, happy endings can get quite boring. Daniel will not tolerate such cruelty. I know what I would do if I were him. Write on, bro!

Well, that's a step in the right direction. Woop Woop NHL. But there's just one problem. It isn't LGBT any more. Things have changed. It's LGBTI and we can expand that to LGBTIA and even LGBTIAM The last three letters being Intersexual, Asexual and Metrosexual. LOL (just kidding).

I look and read anything to do with the male on tumblr.

You forgot to mention that he is so yum. lol. Yup, I remember his coming out and i was blown away. My hubby was a rugby player (amongst other things). But he was out even then and accepted by all in his team. The locker room didn't even come into question. If anyone said anything in the change room, hubby would simply beat him up. Problem dealt with. But that never happened. lol

Coming out is always big news. I look at people like George Michael, and Ricky Martin, who, for years were believed to be straight, except of course, we Gays new otherwise, didn't we? The press devoured their newfound sexuality. With Sport it's a different thing. The idea that some sport is seen as a man's game, irks me. Are gay men not men? The Premier League fandom is a hard nut to crack. Even racism is rampant amongst premier league fans. It takes guts to come out. Our radio stations today are having a full go at this issue today and everyone has an opinion. Most listeners phoning in are pleased that one of the best league soccer players in the world (ex) is gay. Some are totally against it.

Ron, I understand your frustration with SmartEdit lite. It really is up to you if you want to delete or change everything it puts out. Regard it as a tool that simply highlights the areas where change is needed, and use your own judgement. That is how I work with it. One thing it can't do is feel emotion in writing. Thst's our job. If it feels right, then keep tbe wordnor phrase, if it feels wrong, then discard it. Works for me.

I fully agree Scotty. But I wouldn't go so far as to say I don't care. See, I come from a period in history where veing gay was not acceptable. Not even tolerated. Hence, the damage done to us beautiful people thru aversion therapy, murder, incarceration in lunatic asylums, caused us to become closeted. Now, with so many countries accpting gay people as part of the community, it doesn't seem all that bad. But there is still a stigma attached to being gay even in countries that are accepting. I just have a a problem with a teenager or adult stating that he/she is gay. I believe if you wanna have a boyfriend, girlfriend, then simply introduce the person to family as my boyfriend / girlfriend. No explanation needed. But what do we do? We out ourselves. Hey world, I am gay! It is important for our community to have gay stars. Sure. But we don't really need to announce it. We just need to live it. Regardless. So that means parents and friends and family might turn around and say: But you didn't tell me! I say, well, you didn't tell me you are straight. I don't have to explain my actions to anyone. I am not asking for acceptance. I am what I am. Go blow a fish if your ideas are different to mine. Then walk away. Thats just the way I am.
