Well Stephen’s heart thawed enough for him to seek understanding…and forgiveness, as apologies were finally something he could muster. It’s all much too late as the events leading up to the expulsion of Kitt and rational thought should have never happened; such anger should have clued Stephen that everyone needed to calm down and have a family discussion…perhaps Stephen could have sought that church counsel prior to his explosive and emotional outburst that left the family shattered. Touché for Matt holding his posture, letting the unspoken speak louder than words on his position of unapologetic support for Kitt. He is absolutely correct to not share Kitt’s whereabouts with Stephen. Kitt couldn’t handle seeing a friend, his love, in his present state of mind. So there’s no way he can face Stephen, especially without preface of apologies and pledges for life with respect if he can and will return.

Hopefully Lindsay is awesome, she seems to understand, but…will she safeguard Kitt’s privacy, his secret?

But leaves them perplexed when they see you smiling and eagerly agreeing.

What’s so sad is the focus on not letting Matt see him like this. Because he may change his option or friendship because of hard times? Because he may tell your dad he’s wrong and being an ass? what Kitt fails to realize or consider is that if Matt hadn’t waited, hadn’t kept searching, had…moved on?? Then you’ve already lost him and his pain would have still been there. You love Matt, you want Matt, let things sort out with his help.

While the story does build slower than what many may want, the emotions are enhanced through the paralysis of fear for himself and for his best friend and love. The posting schedule helps move it along before stagnation sinks its nails. I really have enjoyed the story and hope you continue to share your works. Thanks again for this one.

I’ll admit, I put off reading this. Based on title I delayed until I thought I’d be in the right mood to enjoy. Enjoy I did, this story brings out many every day thoughts, actions, and reactions that people experience in life…perhaps more in the city, but common none the less. The irony we see and enjoy is like taking a step back from ourselves and witnessing our actions through the eyes(lenses) of a traffic light with consciousness…and a bit of mischief born of boredom; perhaps personification of the rat race of daily life. You pulled this together wonderfully @Lee Wilson, thanks for the chuckles as we peered into the mirror of life.

Not me, my mind was erased. 😝 Actually, beer use to make me very sick in a short matter of time; everyone thought I was the cheapest drunk. It sucked too, as if I took a bottle everyone would grab it so that I only got one drink…being a broke ass college student, that was my entertainment budget for probably 2-4 weeks.
