Poetry Prompt 18 – Rubaiyat - Two poems

The first poem was beautiful with his light, fun images. The second poem was also beautiful, but the images were dark and depressing. Excellent job, Addy! -
Week Twelve Saturday, November 22, 2014: Revelation
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Twelve Saturday, November 22, 2014: Revelation
Chuck was funny when he saw Curt for the first time. Now isn't Curt Randy's b/f? Or at least his friend? I thought Curt was the same age as Matty, David, Twoey, etc. I know Chuck's only fourteen, not that that matters! Defiance is right; Matty's molding him into a mini-Matty! And now we finally know what was going on with Liz. She was only eight, so she shouldn't blame herself. Her father, on the other hand, who knew TWWFWRN had something fishy going with PPF, never did anything about it. At least he pretty much banned PPF and Burch from his house. He should have taken the kids and left. Now we know TWWFWRN is a cold-hearted BITCH, but to slap her eight-year-old daughter because she told you PPF made her feel icky and call her a liar and a sinner, is inexcusable. But we already know her and PPF and Burch are the . I think David might have been sexually abused. Maybe that's why he can't remember when he was really young. I can see PPF and Burch doing that to him. A trauma like that could certainly be repressed for many, many years. I truly hope I'm wrong. -
Jacob/Bobby's sperm donor is an abomination, never mind what the Bible says.He is utterly despicable. Bobby is better off with Mrs. Oliver. At least she cares for him and is trying to help him. Mrs. Edwards must have been so shocked that a "father" would act like that and just erase his son from his life just like that (insert snapping your fingers here ). Colton is good for Bobby; I can tell they'll be good friends.

I liked Niles. He was straightforward and very insightful. I think he could be a good friend to Toph as long as he understood it couldn't be more than that. Why does Toph write him off so permanently? Oscar is so smart. He's getting Toph to see the different colors he 'sees' when he's around certain people. Maybe this Ian will be the coral/crimson color he's looking for. I'm glad Toph and Gary are talking again. I know some of your readers still don't trust Gary, but I'm on the fence there. I really think he likes Toph a lot, but he IS the only connection to Toph's mother and Dennyland, (Dennydum?) after all, so I'm just not sure. I want to trust him! Awesome chapter, Skinny!

Week Twelve Friday, November 21, 2014: Twoey Meets Alex
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Twelve Friday, November 21, 2014: Twoey Meets Alex
! ! ! ! ! "Who the fuck was that?" Oh man, Skinny! That was funny!!!! Haha, Twoey!!!! I'd react the same way. lol And clueless David is clueless because he thinks Tommy's so excited that the church is gone! Ha! Tommy's excited that you're going to be all right and that his brother is back, you doofus! lol Tommy's so happy that the boy who looked like his brother is gone and his real bro is back. Although I agree with Def: if the boy that looks like Tommy's brother wants to come back for just a few hours to rip out the liver that belongs to the woman who shall never be named, that would be perfectly fine by me. Then he can kill her -- be my guest. Evil, evil bitch. David is very smart though. He realizes that so much hatred is toxic, and once things settle down and he realizes exactly what PPF and TWWSRN (too long to write out each time! lol) did to him (along with Burch, Coulton, and that nameless kid we know nothing about), he's going to need Dr. Keating to help him deal with all the anger and hatred he will have for those people, especially TWWSRN, evil, evil bitch. I'm so glad David's friends came to visit. David is back getting lost in those beautiful green eyes. Ok, so this is what I think should happen: Erik is going to be heartbroken, because I really think he loves Twoey. He's so sweet and gentle with him; you can tell he loves him. Chuck is falling for Matty me thinks. And maybe even vice-versa, even if Matty thinks it's all fun and games now. So...I think Matty should forget about Martin, and Martin and Erik should get together. I do feel badly for Erik; he's really going to be hurt when David finally gets a clue. And hopefully Matty won't throw Chuck under the bus. Nah, Matty's too nice for that. I really liked the quote you chose for this chapter, Skinny. So appropriate. I meant to mention that a few chapters ago. It was a quote about being a biological parent does not mean you are a good parent, or something like that. It was absolutely right on the mark, as far as TWWSRN. And yes, where or where is Liz??????? -
O. Henry Short Story Prompt 1 – The Green Door - Mirror, Mirror
Lisa commented on Aditus's story chapter in O. Henry Short Story Prompt 1 – The Green Door - Mirror, Mirror
Creepy is right! lol After paragraph 11 I thought for sure Rudolf was dead, but then when Ethan...omg, I think I just got it! lol Was Ethan dead? Does the green door somehow signify the gates of Saint Peter? (that's what it's called, right? lol) Now Rudolf just died, and it seems that Ethan has been waiting for him. Omg, and Neptune! If he ran away last year, then he might be up in heaven too. Omg, this is creepy! Awesome job though, Addy! -
Week Twelve Thursday, November 20, 2014: Which David?
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Twelve Thursday, November 20, 2014: Which David?
Fifteenth century gay porn! Omg, Skinny! I was lol'ing all over the place! I almost fell outta my chair! (And of course I had to Google it b/c well, I hate to admit, but I don't think I ever heard of Donatello. lol Sad but true. But I did see what Twoey meant -- especially his ass! lol Pretty cute! And why did no one pick up on PPF's license platee? PPF 248? Know we have proof he's a pastor pig-fucker -- license plates never lie. I can't wait to find out what Uncle John and Grandpa are going to do now that they have all this info about PPF and the church. I'm surprised all those church wives didn't show up at the jail wanting to bail PPF out. Then they would all find out that PPF was boffing all of them! Then they'd be too pissed to bail him out and they'd probably rat him out instead! Well, a girl can dream, right? Another awesome chapter, Skinny! On to part four. -

I loved Ariana Grande in Victorious. (Not the new Panic! at the Disco song. lol)

I also laughed when Jackson's mom was relieved it was only Luke in his bed! Jackson may think he doesn't care about Luke, but his thoughts prove otherwise. lol I hope he can help Luke with his fight against homeschooling.

I cried throughout the whole epilogue; they were tears of happiness though. I went through a range of emotions while reading Andy's journey: despair, anger, hope, joy, sorrow...you name it. Andy and Zander, and with them, the supporting characters of Zander's parents, Kaz, Terry, Eustace, Ambrose, Andy's uncle and Grandma Walker...will live on in my memory. I miss them already. I was beyond thrilled that A&Z bought Eustace's farm, but I was even happier that nothing bad was mentioned about Eustace. There have been so many epilogues I have read that have one of the characters dying, and I wouldn't know how I would have handled that if anything had happened to Eustace. So thank you, Parker, for keeping him (and all of them!) alive in my memories. I know from the other review responses (boy, there were tons of reviews! ), there probably won't be a sequel. I'm so glad the story ended where A&Z are kind of 'paying it forward' by taking Reed in. I know there would be no way Andy would ever let someone else suffer like he had. Thank you so much for writing such a beautiful and well-written story, Parker. And please thank Mom for me for her awesome editing! I can't wait to read more of what you have in store!

Even reading this a second time, FM, had me reaching for the Kleenex. What a sad, sad story. So tragic. It's hard enough losing a parent so unexpectedly, but on your birthday (or a few hours before your birthday), is horrible. Thomas will always remember his birthday as it being the day his mom died. So sad.
-
What a beautiful chapter, Parker! Like Nahrung, I was worried when Andy recognized that Green Hat asshole. Thank God he skulked away with his tail between his legs. The time in the cabin was beautifully written, Parker. It showed how much A & Z love each other. They were so sweet and tender with one another -- you could just feel the love between them. On to chapter sixty-six.

Story Review Featured Story: Premium Stories
Lisa commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Gay Authors News
I did pay for ad-free GA a few times (just renewed it the other day), and I really do have to pay for some kind of premium subscription. I would love to read Barbed Wire Heart; I have no idea why I never read it when it was free! Is it a spinoff of another story, Cole? Maybe that's why. I loved Desolation Angels. Working with Layla was always such a pleasure. I didn't even realize the story was in the premium section now! -
Chapter 64 What I Remember
Lisa commented on Parker Owens's story chapter in Chapter 64 What I Remember
Zander's words to Andy at the ceremony made me tear up. It was so beautiful. The whole day was beautiful. I could imagine Andy's anxiety when he never even saw Z at school that day. He was a bundle of nerves to begin with, and I think if he at least caught a glimpse of his hubby-to-be he would feel less anxious. Kaz of course is the wonderful best friend of both of them now, I would think. He's just amazing. But of course, besides the awesome nuptials, the BEST NEWS was that Andy is in no way related to that asshat of a sperm donor (thankfully not HIS sperm donor!)! That was the BEST! I was cheering for Andy. His grandma is so sweet and so nice; I'm thankful she's in his life now. The church bells ringing from all the different churches in town was another beautiful touch, Parker. To me, that felt like a touch of solidarity with all the religions joining in on the wedding, and best of all -- approving of it. So happy to see Eustace and Ambrose and his family, Miss Marjorie and Toby! What a surprise! Andy has touched so many people in the short time he's been walking across the state. As Draught said below, he's so oblivious to the fact that there are so many people who love him and want to see him happy. Awesomely amazing chapter, Parker! -
Week Twelve Tuesday, November 18, 2014: Gary’s Mission
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Twelve Tuesday, November 18, 2014: Gary’s Mission
Yay Gary! CSI, Daleville is up and running! Who needs David Caruso when you've got Gary, his uncle, and Gramps down in the city? I thought it odd though that Gary's uncle, who is Gary's dad's brother is best friends (and has been best friends for a very, very long time) with David's grandfather. Big age difference there, I would think. Not that you can't have best friends who aren't close in age...just sayin'. Anyway...I'm thrilled our David is back, and hopefully the boy who looks like Tommy's brother is long gone. Now if only they could find the woman who no longer lives in David's house and that asshat PPF, and lock them up (separately of course so they have no fun), throw away the key, and torture them relentlessly. I forgot what Martin looked like. I thought the 'dreamboat' was Erik! Wait!!! I know Matty was all set to settle down with Martin a few chapters back (once Martin admitted he's not straight), but now Matty likes Chuck and vice-versa. Where does that leave Martin? Another awesome chapter, Skinny! Skinnyland is looking brighter and brighter! -
Week Twelve Monday, November 17, 2014: Court Ball
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Twelve Monday, November 17, 2014: Court Ball
Tommy Logic is definitely good logic! lol I'm actually glad he didn't throw away the voodoo dolls! Once he learns about the woman who doesn't live in his house anymore, and his ex-pastor PPF, he can take the dolls out and stick some more pins in them! One of your reviewers said something about Sam, but I think it was in the previous chapter's reviews. The reviewer noted that Sam never really told David to watch out for the white van. Sam noticed the white van following David, and I think even David took notice of it a few times, but Sam never specifically told David to be careful of the white van, did he? Luckily he did get the plate number and researched that odd saying on the door. I bet no one else in Daleville had any clue that PPF's church was directly tied to this youth organization designed to beat the devil out of kids. I bet only PPF, Burch, Josiah fucking Coulton, and that other kid (who was he, btw?) knew about their group. I'm wondering...since Gary just mailed the pictures to David's dad and he hasn't seen them yet, what made him tell Tommy that the woman who no longer lives in their house isn't coming back? Did she leave a note? Does Dad know she ran off with PPF? I'm thrilled David has been awake on and off. That's a good sign. And he talked to the police, so he doesn't have amnesia. I was afraid a trauma like that would cause amnesia, like what happened to Twoey. And speaking of Twoey...I'm glad he'll be going back to school! I think I have only one chapter to go, and then I'm all caught up! -
Week Eleven Sunday, November 16, 2014: Reaction
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Eleven Sunday, November 16, 2014: Reaction
'What could he possibly squeeze out of Cory?' hehe Ok, once being a teenage girl, I would probably be the same as Alex right now. I'd be freaking out. Especially listening to the rumor mill, which always screws things up and exaggerates. I feel for her, I do. '...sexucation of Chuck...' Why oh why isn't Matty concerned about David? After all, wasn't it he who wanted to "turn David" or get into his pants if it's the last thing he does? Or something like that. I'm going back like fifty chapters. lol Why is he STILL thinking with his little head and not his big head? Or the opposite if that's the case. Sam continues to intrigue me. How can a 15-year-old have so many adult connections? lol But was it coincidence that he knows someone on Teasdale Street? Did that someone call him to let him know he/she called the police? And was it stated who owned the van? If it was, I missed it. All the cops had to do was run the plates on the van to know who owned it. It it's not Burch's, it probably belongs to the church. And as everyone else had said, the van has been following D1 and D2 for a long time now, way before D2 started with the surveillance of PPF's extra-curricular-church activities. I think PPF did see D2 that night and contacted Burch to do whatever he wanted to to D1/D2 to silence him. Obviously forever from the force of his beating. Thank God the cops got there just in the nick of time. As far as Tommy, bestest little bro in the world, of COURSE he wants to see his brother!!! Even if it is the boy who looks like his brother. Now since we saw Liz very briefly in this chapter (but with no POV), why in God's name wasn't SHE at the hospital???????? Greg too for God's sakes! Love it that all these lawyers are calling Dad. Bet they were all contacted by Grandpa. I bet Grandpa is on his way up to Daleville as I write this. Hmm, wonder if Burch is going to give PPF away? I hope he winds up in The Big House as Big Bubba's bitch. That'll teach him! And Josiah fucking Coulton should NOT be sent to juvie; he deserves to be tried as an adult. Same for the other kid who hasn't been mentioned yet. I can't wait till they catch PPF and the woman who used to live in David's house. -
Week Eleven Saturday, November 15, 2014: Consequences
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Eleven Saturday, November 15, 2014: Consequences
Well, fuck. I think I'm in shock. Burch is a mad, loco motherfucker. I can't wrap myself around the fact that he and Josiah (is that his first name?) fucking Coulton were actually trying to kill David with BATS!!!!! Are they INSANE????? Omg, who else was there? Who tipped off the police? I'm confused by something that was written in Sam's pov: it was something like 'I knew what happened, but not the extent of the damages.'. Something similar. I knew he's been keeping his eye on that white van, but does he have any idea who was in it or where they took D2? Did HE call the cops? And thank God he was acting sober! lol Wouldn't help D2 if Sam was in his own little purple haze and couldn't help him. Now, as for the woman who lives (lived) in David's house, may she burn in the deepest fires of hell, living in tortured mental and physical pain in the 'in between', not quite dead, but not quite alive. Hey, a girl can dream, right? So...a Ford Explorer is an SUV. PPF has an SUV. Was it HIM who drove off with the woman who live(d) in David's house? Omg, David. It's wonderful he's going to live, but will he remember what happened? He could have serious brain damage. His back could be broken; do you know how many times they hit him with BATS across his back?????? His legs could be broken also from when they SMASHED THEIR BATS behind his knees. The emotional and physical pain he will experience will be excruciating. Oh, and where the fuck is his sister Liz????? Did she like fall off the planet or something? lol Oh shit, Alex is going to have a FIT when she finds out her heartthrob crush is in the ICU. Amazing chapter, Skinny! So many surprises in Skinnyland today! Damn, I need to get to bed, but I want to read the next chapter... -
Yep, very ironic that Tiffany is Mrs. Oliver's granddaughter! Jacob's sperm donor would be so pleased! There should be a sarcastic emotion thingy. I really like Colton. I'm glad he put that asshat Darryl in his place. Now he better be on the lookout for Darryl's revenge. Wonderful chapter, Ron!

Week Eleven Friday, November 14, 2014: Getting Sloppy
Lisa commented on skinnydragon's story chapter in Week Eleven Friday, November 14, 2014: Getting Sloppy
Busy, busy things happened in Skinnyland in this chapter! I can SO related to Alex!!! I remember stalking this boy in high school. Oh man, I used to walk by his locker, well, many times during the day, and when I got to WALK WITH HIM on our way to class and actually TALK TO HIM, that was the highlight of my day! So yeah, Alex, I feel for you, girl. D2 really fucked up. My stomach was in knots when I read about the flash going off. Shit, I really hope PPF didn't recognize D2. If he did, things are definitely going to take the wrong turn for our Putin protegee. I thought it was way cool that Alan called Gary. Hopefully the Syracuse team and the Dayville (sorry! I forgot the name of the town!!!) team can figure something out. The thing is, Sam knows everything, right? Is he going to feel bound by loyalty to D1 to keep quiet? On to the next chapter! -
I, too, questioned why Mommy Dearest (MD for short) spoke with Steve. I wonder what things she spewed to him. I also wonder how she knew about him to contact him, and how on earth did she find out his number? Then I read Spikey's review, and it was like a light bulb turned on. Gary. Did Gary want to sabotage Toph and Steve's relationship because HE wants Toph, and he knows what Toph's mother is like? He must be thrilled then that Toph is talking to him again. Another thing I was wondering was about Niles. Ok, from what I remember, Niles is a PI who Nico (Nico, right, not Nick?) hired to find out where Toph disappeared to and if he was ok, right? But is it total coincidence that Niles went to Princeton with Clarissa and Teddy? That just seems too random, you know? On a side note, I really liked the story about Antoinette. If the story was autobiographical, like Jess wondered, Toph must have been in a lot of pain growing up. Very sad story. Great chapter, Skinny! You always leave me wanting more! Now I have to play catch-up with D2 and Co.
-
I was disappointed in Steve. Wasn't it Steve who was upset that Toph took the job with England, Sr.? He was afraid they'd be going in different directions? Did he subconsciously put the kaboosh (not sure if that's the right word) on the relationship? Idk...it was obvious that he knew the cute blonde boy from the club before he was making out with him on New Year's Eve. Had he been cheating on Toph all along? Toph certainly deserved an explanation, and Steve was a coward not to come forth with the truth. Also, Toph should have confronted Steve (not there in the restaurant, but at home), and gotten some closure. On another note, I'm really going to miss Merle. Too bad Toph and Merle couldn't stay in touch. I really like Oscar too. He's very intelligent. I'm trying to figure out if the bird lady is maybe subconsciously tied in with Toph's "wonderful" mother. Idk... I did like the recurring 'I'm learning at 19...' (or whatever it said exactly). I think it just points out that with each aspect of Toph's life, he still has lots to learn, and at least he realizes that.
