Time will tell...

Humm.....could they be used for other purposes besides being a poster boy!! A white demon, and his handler who single handedly brutalised an orc warchief so badly, entire tribes flee when faced with the thought of the Garkoli. And that was before you joined the army.

Arthur needs to face his family and tell them what he told Marvin for starters... Sadly, Marvin has a long way to go...I wish him well, but I can only see there being a friendship between him and Creek... And...who's gonna volunteer to pull the stick out of Arthur's ass???

Not gonna touch either, especially the second....🤔

Did either of them truly taste the food as smitten as they were with each other? It sounded simply wonderful. But as @Flip-Flop noted, I am also a meet and spuds guy...Give me a rib-eye any day and as for a beverage, wine...ugg A local brewery called Wormtown has a craft beer, one of several varieties, called Be Juicy. The following review isn't mine but it hits all the right notes. Note the subtle sarcasm...and this was a wonderfully descriptive chapter...thanks!!! Hazy yellow copper like so many in this class. White bubble head with ample carbonation Smell...light hint of hop and grass with a pungency. Some peach and grapefruit. A touch of melon and Taste...juice bitter up front (in the title) and a nice balance of the malt in the middle of the swill. Enough sweet to a transition to a drying in the back end lending to a lingering bitterness Feel...A nice slickness that invites quick dismissal. Has an excellent retention with lacing slowly vanishing.

Detective Owen Evans seems to be an honest, overworked detective...for me, the jury is still out... We have 2 new red herrings here, Paul's brother James, and Tom Jackson. Could our detective be another??? How much trouble is Jake in? The photo in the safe deposit box matches the one found in Jake's room. Where, how, and when did Jake come across the photo... Coming in from way out in left field, could Jake be Tom Jackson? If so, could he be trying to set up Neil/Fenton Black, our international man of mystery and intrigue... What is the original connection between Jake and Neil/Fenton Black??? How, when, and where did they meet? Neil/Fenton Black seems to have gone through a few 'boyfriends' of a similar type. Are any of them still alive??? How would you find them??

It's not gonna be easy to get that smell out....I know I said in my comment in the last chapter about arranging an "accident" for the good doctor, so I could get my hands on the car, I would never treat it that way, talk about bad manners...how gauche.... Looking forward to what Bane has to say... Will Todd stand by his man??? Now, having placed the severed head in the cooler, did our killer drop a dime of his own???

Humm....it is a game now of beat the odds... “Private Hill, I arrived in this company less than three months ago. In that time, we have lost thirteen medics. Four of whom were Clerics. The average expected lifespan of a 68w on the front lines of this war is two weeks. For known Clerics? Five days. The only class with a shorter lifespan is Wizards. Spellcasters, in general, are targeted with extreme prejudice.

Interesting to see this background. What the heck is the following, and would Danica truly do something to ensure Dante was never freed? "Mark my words, John, and wait and see. Inara '76 we'll hear from him."

The Blade of Forgiveness

just so sad.... -
I have to believe Arthur is toying with Marvin, and I believe Creek and Marvin have landed solidly in "the friend zone"

Chapter 34: A Funny Thing Happened When Landing on the Moon

Per my comment in the last chapter, I could not conceive that they would 'waste' students and resources... It was well done and I am looking forward to seeing how the other teams made out, as they were second...does any other team come in under the wire? Zane...what a dolt... -
Boy, did this bring back memories...thanks for sharing!

It's a festival of red herrings...could it be Miss Peacock??? Inquiring minds want to know...and as always, on the lookout for red herrings

A walk in the park - 30 December
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in A walk in the park - 30 December
I've been in that sort of meeting, one where you want to chew an arm off, wish for the apocalypse to come...where nothing happens, or is decided other than to have another later in the week, like Friday afternoon at 3PM... “I figured I’d give it a go. After all, Spontini’s …” He looked down at his phone. “Agnes von Hohenstaufen in German with English subtitles can’t be much worse than some of the three-hour business meetings I’ve been in. And it might make a deal more sense.” -
I'm reminded of the kid who wanted a pony for Christmas and come that morning to find a pile of horse poop in the driveway, Grabbing a shovel, he started digging, exclaiming that there had to be a pony in that pile somewhere... One has to hope that life does get better for Mason at some point in the near future, that he finds he has value others see... If not...this will be a pretty bleak story...and let's not forget Wishbone...perhaps he could be turned loose on the Gods!!!

Chapter 33: Practical, Surprise Training
drsawzall commented on astroguy's story chapter in Chapter 33: Practical, Surprise Training
To me, a pass the test or die would seem pretty harsh and a waste of resources. I imagine there had to be some sort of fail-safe if it were a real test. I would like to know more about the political situation and conflicts with other powers that be, outside of their solar system...
