I thought CJ's chapter, when our protagonist falls off the boat in the roaring 40's and is facing drowning, to be one of his best chapters, cliffie aside...
Too many 'moments' stood out in this chapter, but I loved the following...
She smiled and licked her lips in anticipation, the things she was going to accomplish with Kenny running logistics, her mind was already calculating the expansion prospects.
“Oh and I want a ‘If you make my brother cry’ clause that delivers me his testicles on a silver platter.” Lydia smiled a deep, dark, menacing smile. “No one makes Steve cry but me.”
