Guam was pivotal in The Battle of Midway in June of 1942, an astounding defeat of the Japanese navy who wanted to secure Guam for military needs. They planned to attack the island and secure it in hopes of setting up a trap to destroy the remaining US aircraft carriers. US codebreakers thought they had broken Japanese code messages and to test their work, they sent non-coded messages telling command at Pearl Harbor that the water desalinization plant was damaged. Essentially setting up an ambush for the Japanese navy having prepositioned their naval forces. Battle of Midway - Wikipedia

Looks like the honeymoon is going fantastically well...I'm a bit dubious about William turning a corner towards sanity... After checking out the link to the Hanging Suites my Spidey sense was tingling... The Hanging Suites are modeled after Sky Lodge in Peru - Search Think one might, at my age, stay in a standard room....

Perhaps your best chapter yet...Zal certainly fits Aristotle's definition of a tragic hero... Why is he asking to be taken to Renn??? Was Renn not a traitor? I may be confused but did he not set in motion the means that allowed Pink the miserable dwarf to escape?

Part One: I'm Never Gonna Pass...
drsawzall commented on Jason Rimbaud's story chapter in Part One: I'm Never Gonna Pass...
This was a reminder of an incident I had in high school where one of my teachers had to leave for personal reasons mid-way through my senior year. Up to that point, I was pulling 95 to 98% on all of my tests and quizzes. The replacement teacher had my older sister in one of her classes the year prior, and while I do not know the details as to why, she had it out for me from the moment she took over the class... I put up with it for a month or so, one of my friends was in the same class and let me see his quizzes and tests after they were marked, I was stunned to say the least. I have to think that the fact his father was a member of the school committee, had something to do with his results. I had more correct answers and when the two tests were compared, it was obvious I was being marked down. I forget what or who started it one day in class, but I had enough. Her comments that day were atrocious, I stood up, holding both sets of tests. I calmly told her I was going to the principal's office, she could either come with me or wait until my parents arrived as we were going to get to the bottom of her obvious marking discrepancy... It got pretty ugly at the beginning, but when faced with my irate parents and her obvious dislike of me along with the marking issue, she was forced to regrade my tests and reassigned to a different class... I guess the point I am trying to make, class instructors are there to teach...not to belittle, demean, or otherwise express joy at failing their students. If the teacher is incapable of teaching to a level that allows students to excel, a change needs to be made. Could not agree more with the following... OOOOHHHH...someone has it bad for Tyler, or so it seems... “What about Billy?” Tyler asked as he glanced at the clock on the dashboard. Dylan scoffed and said, “I don’t know, he’s been acting a bit weird lately.” Tyler shrugged and then said, “Well, Devin and I will figure things out.” “Hope so,” Dylan said dejectedly. “All right, see ya around.” Dylan sat there for a few moments, it didn’t seem like he wanted to get out of the car. “Is there something else you want to say?” Dylan blushed and then quickly got out. Tyler shook his head in confusion as Dylan ran to the front door and quickly disappeared inside. -

Firing a teacher because he fails his students, fails at his core responsibility, is not being stupid, but an honest assessment of the teacher's skills...- 49 comments
