This training will be intended to help Richter better control his latent abilities... This chapter reminded me of Robert Frost's poem, "The Road Not Taken" of two roads that diverged in the woods, where Richter will take the one less traveled and his brother the other...will it make all the difference?

Very intriguing to say the least.... And what will he find in Syria that will come back to the following???? Someone had wanted her dead. But why? She’d been working on a translation project, something about historical archives, nothing that should have been dangerous. He’d dug, of course, using his connections, his skills. He’d found nothing concrete, just whispers, hints of something bigger, something that powerful people wanted to keep buried. He suspected a connection with his own work, a message sent in the most brutal way possible. A reminder that he was a tool, that his life, and the lives of those he cared about, were expendable.

Having let this chapter sit and percolate overnight I found myself struggling with finding the right combination of words to do this chapter/story justice until I had a moment to ponder the comment made by our esteemed @Summerabbacat. It is succinct and speaks to my thoughts exactly....
