Late to the party but here goes... Where and how is Calvin affording Thomas Walker... is Amanda Rickman aka "you foul mouth tart''... his 'sugar mama'??? “Sorry about that,” Diego offered, but Billy waved it away dismissively. “I would like to tell you this is all over,” Billy said, “but this is only the beginning. With the Calvin attempting to get his parental rights back, we'll be in court a lot. Thomas Walker is a good lawyer, who works for an even better firm.” “Yeah, I know,” Diego said, bitterly. “I had a 'free' consultation with him not too long ago that he charged me for.” “Really? Got any evidence?” “Yeah, I have a receipt.” “Great. I'll need a copy of that. His firm has a history, and I'd love to knock them down a few pegs. Getting Thomas Walker removed from the case will also grant us more time to prepare.” If Diego paid for a free consultation, and I may be wrong, Attorney Walker cannot legally have Calvin as a client... Calvin and the sugar mama have a whole host of issues in this imbroglio in addition to attempted kidnapping... I can't imagine Calvin's past won't be that hard to dig up, including the lack of any sort of parental concern or contact over the years he disappeared...How does he explain that away???? @Anton_Cloche, I'm making that peach cobbler this weekend....

Loved this, and if symptoms/behavior persist, while it is no longer medically necessary to put the rabid animal/individual down, time institutionalized, might be warranted... This was spot-on, let's not forget moral as well, sadly moral failings of this nature rarely if ever end up with incarceration... just shines as an example not to follow... Well now, just where to start... Mommy Dearest...if it isn't plainly obvious by now, Seth is the ignored/forgotten child/slave to a couple of bitches opps...witches overdosing on self aggrandizement/entitlement...She has treated Seth publicly as a convenience to do the bidding at the whims he is expected to serve. In any disagreement/contrempts, it is Seth who is automatically at fault. Why should he suffer the consequences of being grounded or loss of driving privileges, if he steps out of line or expects any sort of fair hearing for his grievances/issues... For an educated woman, she certainly missed the bus on fair parenting... The see ya next Tuesday spawn, known as the other twin...Spoiled rotten doesn't even come close. What kind of mojo spells does she cast over her mother??? While she may be of an age to get a license, sher is still immature, pre-teen child...living in as parentally supported fantsay world, her marks at school are down the tube, she barely gets by without having to resort to cheating...the world isn't kind to a child like her, there are only so many ways one can make a living on one's back...and even that has a sell by date... The triumvirate..enjoy it while it lasts boys...while I may be wrong, I don't see it sustaining itself, unless a sudden, morning storm of clarity rains down on them...their strongest attribute, is going from one bad series of decisions to the next bad decisions... Aunt Marie and Uncle Steve, along with Ty and Mr Ellis have my respect, it would indicate the others must have missed an important vaccination somewhere along the line...One can only hope they are out of town when the four horsemen of the apocalypse make a visit... Hat's off to @Ronyx for creating such a tale as to engender such reactions...not that I have any truly strong opinions...

A hundred and forty pounds to go on a field trip to see two museums...what are they riding in, the Kings coronation coach??? That's outrageous...at today's dollar exchange rate...$175.00 yikes!!!

Lawyers and More from Marty
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Lawyers and More from Marty
Again, as noted by @NimirRaj, Matt is found naked, his clothes ripped to shreds with a head injury...it is beyond the pale that he isn't checked for possible signs of sexual assault as triage is performed...if it is missed, woe to those treating him... -
Talk about setting the scene....A great start and looking forward to more!! That we are suffering with high humidity in the Bay State certainly added to how the chapter feels...

An interesting chapter to say the least...much to learn and absorb to say the least...Mac's impatience could be excused as his young age, but he's a college student for gosh sakes...I would expect he'd show a bit more deference to the shaman and accept the conditions he's being trained under without any (bad pun alert here) reservations...Then and just as importantly, Gramps and Devin need to show some ability to endure the separation while the training is taking place. That his training is moving quicker than expected, and it is a good thing, those around Mac and the shaman need to keep their distance. I feel the following is/was spot on...Mac needs to think a bit more about the questions he's asking, lest he sounds like he's impatiently whining... “But why do we have to wait until Sunday night before we go out for a run?” “You and the others may not think it would make a difference when you do it, other than your impatience. However, it could make a huge difference if anyone from the reservation were to see you.

Lawyers and More from Marty
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Lawyers and More from Marty
I had to post this before reading any other comments...CHECK FOR DNA....ASAP!!! Marty drags Matt into the woods, not being concerned about Matt getting banged into trees along the way. After finding a small clearing, he rams Matt's head into a tree a few times, leaving Matt very groggy. Marty throws Matt to the ground, who tries to crawl away, but Marty begins kicking and beating him. While Matt never loses consciousness, Marty does a pretty good number on him. Helpless, Marty strips Matt and begins sodomizing him. After he's finished, he tries to destroy Matt's clothes and leaves Matt lying on the ground. How...just how frigging stupid is Marty...he won't be opening any doors on his own for a while... CHECK FOR DNA!...ASAP!!!! -

The Wretched of the Realm, Part 1
drsawzall commented on Stephen Wormwood's story chapter in The Wretched of the Realm, Part 1
A powerful chapter to say the least, all the other comments are/were spot on... His thoughts were scattershot ramblings shooting through the fog of his own anger. All conjecture and passing suppositions. Nothing cohesive. Not until a kindled memory brought him back to the bedlam of Speaker’s Square… and of the cloaked marksman he saw perched upon the rooftops… a shadow in the shadows of a red brick flue… pistol tilted low, too low to hit the forum or the king sat atop it… yet close enough to kill a spectator… to trigger a panic… and then how quickly came Wolner’s men to King Oswald’s rescue… how handily close by their streetside commandery was… and so conveniently soon into the good Constable’s investigation into the Crow’s Club… Too many coincidences to be a coincidence. Death will be too kind to Wolner and/or the Duke. There's a special place for heinous a-holes like Gustave... King Oswald cut a false smile with pursed lips. “My sweet Lord Uncle. Take the joys of the hunt for thine own self this once. Ride ahead with the dogs, track my boar along the dell, and blow your horn when the beaters have it trapped for the kill. We shall follow anon.” The Duke returned a curt half-smile, equally false. “Yes, Your Majesty.” He turned his horse about and whipped at its reins, galloping ahead into the shaded forest trail. The Duke’s retainers quickly followed, including his excellency Ambassador Ludolf, who cut Gustave a dark glare as he broke away with the others. Ser Fynn’s fewterer and his gnashing bitches did the same. ‘There are factions in this court,’ thought Fran. ‘And their rift grows…’ This society is like a pressure cooker left unattended, something's going to give...The name escapes me at the moment, but at the dance before the king and in his honor, Fran's partner spoke to the corruption that was destroying the nobility... Having said all that...a new broom cleans best... -

Chapter 5 Lay of the Land
drsawzall commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 5 Lay of the Land
NEVER apologize for burdening us with a double chapter...now ifin there just happened to be a triple chapter, then I reckon we might have to have words... This chapter was a masterpiece in the moonlight...I'm reminded of a chapter section from Herman Melville's Moby Dick, the awareness of the given environment is staggering/stunning https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/58579-consider-the-subtleness-of-the-sea-how-its-most-dreaded I believe early on in the first chapter or two that Jubal in his ruminations, reflected on an assignation gone upside down and a physical component that left him badly scarred, both figuratively and physically... Loved the banter all throughout this chapter but especially the following... “Why would I laugh? It’s got a roof, don’t it?” he asked teasingly. Lucas snorted. “A crooked one what leaks in the rain, but yep, there is a roof. Walls ain’t straight either… wander like a horse with no bridle.” “Noticed that,” Jubal said with a smirk. “Told y’all not to laugh. First time I ever built a cabin, and had no help for it. Confess to not knowing what I was doing, but it should stay standing for tonight.” “Should?” “Well, I can’t say for certain, but we’re used to some danger now, ain’t we?” “Suppose we are at that. A crooked roof don’t scare me none compared to armed killers.” “Don’t forget the crooked walls.”- 54 comments

I'm of the thought that an author should post completed, or nearly completed works, there are incomplete stories on this site that began in 2010...as a retired old fart, I'd like to finish stories before they finish me...or..I get finished... To each their own..posting schedule...but I digress.... An auspicious start after the prologue...where do we go from here...

The following rings so frigging true... She continued: "The autocrats in Tehran will ensure sanctions relief does not go to the Iranian people but to make more drones for Russia to use against the people of Ukraine. Any such deal would be calamitous for the Iranian people, sanctioned or unsanctioned," she warned.
