Chapter 39 - Hunter vs. Queen
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 39 - Hunter vs. Queen
The true definition of cockblocked... Priestess glared at Golvinte. “I wish Lyoth were here,” Phentrom added, more to himself than the others. “That’s the reason they’re after you,” Golvinte interjected. “They want to experiment on you.” “You were bringing someone in for human experimentation?!” Priestess growled. “Babe, he’s not a human.” Priestess gasped. “You’re barely a human sometimes! I’ve only known Phentrom for a matter of hours, but he’s more of a man than most men I’ve met. You will not be collecting this bounty.” “Yes, schmoodle,” Golvinte replied in a dejected tone. “In fact,” Priestess added, “you’re going to help Phentrom.” -
I like the unique twist you've given Grey, it is adding a new wrinkle that give him more depth... “Thanks, man. I appreciate it.” He just smiled at me and left, leaving a trail of air—sun—spring behind him. I was also staring at his ass, but too mesmerized by my overloaded senses to will myself to look away. When he was gone, I looked to the left towards the scent of a smirk. A smirk is like mischievous vanilla. Sweet, but giggly so. It came from an older woman at the other end of the room. She probably caught me staring. Her face was saying as much. Oh, well. I also smelled arousal on her. Good for her. I hope that was not directed at me, though. Maybe she’s Edna with the heart attack. Mischievous vanilla heart attack Edna.

An not so auspicious start for Grey to say the least, begging several questions; why did he feel the need to leave the pack, will the pack come looking for him, was his sexual inclinations part of the reason,? I feel the a-holes who have been terrorizing the bar may be in store for learning some manners...

There's A Strange Partridge in My Pear Tree, Charlie Boone!
drsawzall reviewed Geron Kees's story in Fiction
Perhaps the seminal instalment in the Charlie Boone universe, for those familiar, read on and expect to be enthralled! For all you newcomers, welcome and you really need to start with the first of these captivating tales. This truly earns five stars!! -
Oh Kipper, you say the most romantic things.. But then the man dropped his hands, and squinted at Kippy quizzically. "Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you or one of your friends have just whipped up this stand magically?' Kippy sighed at that. "Yes. But it wouldn't be the same." He reached out to place a hand on the man's arm. "This is a special gift, for a special person. Magic wouldn't be the same. I want this stand built by a friend of Charlie's. I want the special love and attention you put into the things you make. Like the furniture we have at the office. You know what I mean?" Did you ask @Ivor Slipper for help... "How will we know where they are?" Kippy asked. Frit turned to Pip, and the two elves frowned at each other. "A good question," Pip said. "A very good question," Frit agreed. He though a moment, and then smiled, and flicked his fingers again. A butterfly appeared in the air before them, and fluttered back and forth in a very orderly pattern. "This is Yurnoz," Frit explained. "He'll appear when the little bell sounds, and he can take you to where the person is located." Pip grinned. "Yep. Just follow Yurnoz!" The two elves started laughing again, while Kippy just stared at them. "What if it's at night? We won't be able to see this little fellow in the dark." Frit managed to stop laughing. "Oh, Yurnoz glows in the dark!" "LIke Rudolph!" Pip added, and the elves started to break up again. OHHHHH a tater tot with extra thick cut bacon pizza.... I'd be waddling like a duck after not sharing...much 😉 Thank you Geron, this was one, if not the best chapter yet in another fantastic Charlie Boone universe(s) If this were baseball, you hit a triple grand slam!!!! Hey...it could happen on Engris.... Thanks again and the best of the new year to you and yours, and not to forget your faithful readers...ditto!!!

It won't be just one or two coming to the rescue, but a bar full of very angry, inebriated patrons.. -
The Aftermath, and In School
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The Aftermath, and In School
What Al said.... Someday, and I would hope in my lifetime, we will judge folks by their character, not by the color of their skin... -
This one hit home for me as the central tenant of this wonderful story. It truly exemplifies just what the Christmas spirit is truly about, and demonstrates that there is a reason for the season, not just at this time of year, but 365 days of the year!!! As an old car buff, the Mini Cooper S with the full service history, MOT and the like, will to the true aficionados, will more than likely rocket thru the estimate Joe gave. Considering the age of the car, the year it was built,...1965, the car has become the proverbial unicorn. Of the thousands that were built, I would hazard a guess that less than a hundred, and I suspect much, much fewer, can claim that sort of provenance. The critical path here for Charlie is to use OEM parts whenever things that need fixing are beyond repair. As a fan of Wheeler Dealers with Mike Brewer, I've learned that spread across the UK, are many small, niche business that can remanufacture some of these hard to repair parts. It is critical that the car remain a 'numbers matching vehicle'. That is to say, there are several areas where the car has serial numbers, and they all have to match. The boys should look the car over very carefully for the factory build sheet. This sheet tells the assembly line how the car is to be built per customer or dealer order. Finding that exponentially increases value. Sometimes it is found tucked under the springs of the seats or hidden in the trunk (boot)! It is critical to proving originality!! Somehow, I don't think Harry will sell the car, he'll want to keep it in the 'family'!! Tissues, why I hardly know you!!! This truly was a great chapter, even if there weren't any broken brake pipes...😉

This was a delightful chapter to say the least. It was warm and wonderful...Loved it!!! If memory serves me correctly, and reaching out to @ReaderPaul, I seem to recall other treasures found on Engris from other civilizations played prominently in succeeding stories, such as the ring that gave us Ragal. I get the feeling we just may see some or all of these wonderful finds in the future adventures of the gang!!!

Playdate, and One More Crisis
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Playdate, and One More Crisis
Thanks for not posting the tissue warning...I had to run to the bathroom and use TP...BTW my nose is upset with you.. “That, and something else. Mr. Garrett asked if we’d think about being his foster parents. His parents just died.” “He’d be like a brother?” “Yes.” “Cool. When can we meet him?” “So you’d be OK if we took care of another boy?” “Yeah. You guys have a lot of love in you.” “OK. Well, let’s get your shoes on, and we’ll go see Dennis.” -
Chapter 35 - The Other Bounty Hunter

I believe we have some answers to some of the mysteries, the only reason they are after Phentrom must be because he's become sentient... -

Chapter 34 - Escape
drsawzall commented on Adam Andrews Johnson's story chapter in Chapter 34 - Escape
From the frying pan to the fire...much of it unnecessary...as noted above...we still don't know the results of the 'incidental' contact in a previous chapter and who let the dog out??? -
My guess is the skid-steer is leaking oil and fuel causing a horrible environmental disaster...that's my story and I am sticking to it...other than the author should be careful if he accepts a ride in a convertible...just sayin...

What a fantastic chapter, I found the following simply amazing ... "Go to it, Esemerelda!" Max said, from close by. Around them, the dark plain suddenly lit with images torn from the human history books, stretching from the beginnings of the race to the present day. Here a large man in furs swung a huge stick at a giant crouching cat, while others around him threw rocks or swung sticks of their own. Beyond them, dark-skinned humans working together patiently fashioned structures of adobe along a stretch of mountain cliff. Nearby, armies of soldiers carrying spears and swords charged at each other across desert sands. In another location, a sleek Viking longboat under full sail battled huge waves as lightning danced in the skies above. And in another place, a steam-powered tractor slowly plowed a field under a magnificent blue sky with a touch of orange along the horizon. The images came and went in a flood, gradually speeding up, until there were so many flying by around them that they became mere impressions, barely registering before they were gone. But the sense of history passing was enormous. Charlie felt a sense of time descend upon them, weighty beyond all reason, as all the event lines that made up this reality and others were searched, categorized, and labeled with astonishing speed. Nicklus gasped in amazement. "It's so beautiful!" It seems that doors popping up all over the place, wonder what roads they may lead to????
