The incipient danger that lies ahead of our band of intrepid explorers, is the danger of these vastly different worlds and the technology they possess, colliding. I fear the dark mages are seeking control of the magic of the ancients and the havoc they could/would create. Like Oppenheimer who released the forces of the atom, Jamie and his companions having seen the wonder of the world of machines below the surface, keep the technology from bleeding into their world? We don't know how large this planet is in circumference, who are the rockets being fired at, by what process are they being manufactured, where is the power generation located, what/who exists on the far side of this planet? Have they opened Pandora's box?

Once again we are reminded how lucky we are to have a story site like Gay Authors. Not every love story is the same, read on to learn about Arthur and Sidney's lifelong companionship. Powerfully written, evocative, and a masterfully told tale of love through the good and tough times. This is worth the time to read folks!!

Both of my parents suffered from different forms of dementia and up to the point it was not longer safe or possible for me to provide for their needs, and it was a struggle, the decision was made to put them in appropriate care facility. Like Sidney, it was very difficult to make that decision. With my father, he had fallen and needed to spend time in rehab. It was while he was in rehab that his last tenuous link with reality faded. After my father passed, my mother also fell and did well enough with rehab she was able to come home. As the disease slowly progressed, we were able to have help come in, and placement in adult day care. While we all hoped it would last, and it did for a short while, her personal care required someone other than her son. Placing her was one of the toughest decisions I ever had to make, and in the end, it was what was best for her. Dementia is an insidious, evil, wasteful companion. I also learned about the good/bad days as the former grew less frequent, and the latter ever more so... At first I was trying to be everything to both, a wise old nurse similar to Katie pulled me aside and sat with me for a spell. Calmly educating me as to what was going on, what to expect and how to cope without guilt or frustration. To Katie and the other wonderful nurses, doctors and attendants, I am and remain eternally grateful. This short story is masterful, poignant, and ever so well written...Thank you!!!

One can only hope they stay undiscovered for the ground to settle below their feet...and they have the time to follow the chain of command of those planning the destruction of two yachts prior, the bombing of the new hotel and use the following indispensable cattle ranch/station bloodless castration tool on the culprits...

One can only hope there aren't any emergencies, hopefully Mac's parents can reach out to Dev's if the need arises... What is it with these folks playing the old children's game..."I know something you don't know"...I can understand wanting to do something special and surprise someone with something they may like, but to do so constantly is irksome to say the least... As soon as we filled our plates and sat down at a table, my parents immediately wanted to know what it was that I wanted to discuss with them. “Let’s just enjoy our meal and unwind tonight, and then we’ll talk about it tomorrow.” I had a feeling my parents wanted to press the issue, but they gave in and we discussed other topics as we ate. Power tripping much???? “What are we going to be doing today?” I wanted to know. “I normally wouldn’t tell you, but I want Devin to know what we have planned. Your mother and I thought we’d take you boys bowling before lunch.” AAAARRRRGGGGG (Pulling my hair out)!!!!! “What are we going to do tomorrow?” “You’ll find out when we get there,” my dad replied. “You know how much I hate it when you do that to me,” I responded with a tinge of bitterness in my tone. “Then why do you bother asking, since you know I won’t give you the answer you’re looking for?” he said as he smiled at me. “You told us that we were going bowling earlier,” I pointed out. “I only did that because I wanted to know if Devin had ever bowled before. You have to learn patience and find a way to control your desire for instantaneous gratification, Mickey.” How about these folks learn better communication skills, or do these folks like being control freaks...it is so frigging unnecessary. Loved the chapter but...I might be a tad cranky after finishing a 9 mile hike....

In summation your honor, I rest my case... Heavenly bodies forming conjunctions, while going about their own paths, so this third thing is made, that is bigger than both of them, yet they retain their own essence:

Technically this was simply a fantastical brilliant chapter. Loved the way the story flowed from the following... So strong a force could not be contained within the soft organic matter of the body, so Jamie had inferred that that force which moved muscles and which prompted hunger and which gave such pleasure at the touch of Garvin's skin, had to be of a more infinitesimal nature; tinier in force, while being mightier in creation. For surely thoughts were the mightiest of creations. Jamie had studied the golden cage his Master loved so much, and decided that the odd black material between the halves, and from which the handle was made, was some form of matter that did not allow the electrical force to pass. His book studies had eventually yielded the term insulator, and Jamie had been astounded to understand that even lightning could not pass through some types of material. Something of their construction blocked the path of the force, did not allow it to pass through. And that quality seemed to be exactly what Jamie needed now, to shield the electrical nature of his thoughts from whatever electrical magick Urvan had created to interfere with them, to alter them. But...what qualities would such an insulator of thoughts entail? I am convinced that Jamie is just beginning to tap into the magickal power at his fingertips with his discovery, and that he shares his discoveries bodes well for our intrepid adventurers... I suspect further dangers await our gang that will test them to the utmost and one hopes they don't get separated...

Rob storming off worries me, in his haste and anger I hope nothing slips. Jason is being a true wild card, he's f'uped his relationship with Veronica and will he be on his game or off for the big meet? Dear old dad, he wins the prize for this chapter, how tough all of this has been on him and he hasn't broken, it's obvious he's hurting and it looks like he's keeping his head above water...

Herein below lies the crux of this quest, notwithstanding a certain dark mage's lust for a Prince. I would not be surprised if an ally or two might not appear from the dark forest, creatures or beings not happy with the works/changes, the collective/assemblage of dark mages are wreaking and possibly enslaving on/in their domain... And as to only one change of undergarments @weinerdog, one has to hope there's a magick for cleaning the spots of surprise they are bound to endure... I believe that that particular magick was tailored specifically to you." Jamie blinked in surprise. "Me?" Snave actually produced a grunt. "The gliftok did not swat at us in an attempt to do harm, Jamie. It reached directly for you. It is my belief that your capture was the goal of that operation, not our destruction." Jamie took a deep breath of surprise. "Why would they wish to capture me?" Snave laughed. "Jamie, you quite humbled Urvan at the castle that evening, and in front of witnesses. He did not strike me as one whose ego will allow such treatment to go unpunished. I do believe he wants you brought to him, so that he may take his revenge upon you." Snave went silent a moment, and then resumed. "And...you are a puzzle to him, I think. He surely felt the power inherent within you, just as all of us have. He may wish to try to...control it, for his own use." Jamie was aghast at that idea. The only way that someone like Urvan could gain control over Jamie's abilities was to...enslave him.

While I can't disagree with the classical musical choices that give rise to the empathy both boys seek in each other, for us peons, the great unwashed heathens , who only get to sit in the last rows (if we were so lucky), of the nose-bleed seats for concerts such as the wonder of Rach-fuckin’-maninov. Most likely our seats would be on the hard cobbled seats, barely up from the gutter. But I digress, both boys have inner strength that is allowing both to break the bounds of instilled/installed dogma, and see the possibility of life outside the narrowness of their upbringing. If I were to ascribe to a musical standard, chosen from the cheapest of seats, I would choose the following. Here where I live in Boston Ma., we have a tradition of July 4th concerts, celebrating our founding, the creation of something new. I feel our two star-crossed lovers are worthy of another choice, this the last played as the fireworks go off and as sappy as it may be I give you...
