Wow...talk about ingrained behavior...At barely 18, this might destroy Flynn...He shouldn't get off scot-free; he deserves an appropriate punishment, but where Miss Brittany is involved, it is so over the top. No wonder her mother wants things settled before she passes. Those who can leave, marry, or otherwise move on from that farm would be well advised to do so...

While I know we've strayed far off topic, Deliverance is a movie that most likely could not be made today, and by anyone's definition, a classic. One of the most recognizable scenes in all of moviedom...simply brilliant...

So sad... The tears came again, and Mason cried. Gone was any numbness, replaced by sharp agony, the crushing weight of loss. Two weeks guarding Jack, two weeks waiting to comfort his family, but who was there to comfort Mason? To tell him it was okay, it wasn’t his fault, that he’d done the best he could? In the end, there was no one.

This was one of the best chapters yet. And I agree with @Seraph28 about Marvin. Admittedily I was harsh in my thoughts with him, and for the most part, still do. Kellin, his toxic ex-boyfriend, has much to answer for; somehow, someway karma will come to bite him in the ass...Marvin has a mighty amount of healing to do, hopefully with a qualified professional. Dawn was a surprise, and Arthur never fails to make me scratch my head; he also needs help! Kudos to Dailan for having that conversation, hopefully it is the beginning steps to a real relationship...I found the following powerful... “You’re in the same boat, huh?” she asked gently. “Feels like it,” I murmured. “Dailan’s mom cut him off. His dad said the right things, but a decade too late. And I’ve got my own crew learning to catch up. Some days feel like we’re getting there. Some feel like we never will.” “But you’re not giving up?” “Not a chance.” She exhaled. “Good. Because I’ve always believed… love isn’t something you just find and protect. It’s something you build. Over time. Over fights and silences and awkward dinners. You earn it.” I looked down at Forest, who had fallen asleep with oatmeal still smeared across his cheek. “I’m trying,” I said softly. “For him. For Dailan. For me.”

I've been trained by family, as I have no sense of sartorial splendor, or that the music I listen to was composed by those whom we thank for becoming gasoline. Or that my choice in reading material is so problematic, as to make one think. That the only way to relate, is those easy-to-send internet gift cards you can order on Bezosland....sigh... Well, it saves on wrapping, a highly overrated skill...hey...brown paper grocery shopping bags work just fine, thank you very much, and I don't endanger my tongue by licking holiday envelopes and stamps... And I will let you all know...flannel shirts and fleece-lined pants are a great fashion choice!!!!

Like others have noted, Miguel may possibly a 'plant'....to keep tabs on Hunter...the following gives me pause and reason to be skeptical of the boy. “Everyone knows Miguel. Most popular guy in school, total jock. His dad’s loaded, I have to imagine Miguel's father is connected to all sorts of unsavory business...If you make that sort of money in what is essentially a narco state, you can't be all that clean... Having said that, Miguel may see something in Hunter...

The boy's learned forgiveness on a smaller scale, will the adults?
