Mum and I made cutout cookies yesterday. We use a recipe that came from my step-grandmother. We suspect it's well over a 100 years old likely 200 and came with the family from Ireland as the recipe is titled "Biscuits" in her hand written version.
Time eases the embarassment ... uhm, good thing your momma told you to wear clean panties in case of an accident. Little did she know what sort of accident.
I like it. It has a sense of indulgent neglect or nature will endure with the ferns and other flora being allowed to flourish in an obviously human space.
G'day y'all. It's significantly warmer this morning than yesterday's subfreezing low, currently 44/7°.
Yesterday afternoon I set up the Christmas yard/village under our tree. It's a tradition stretching back to mum's early childhood. My grandmother did one each year, mum created a yearly one in our home. Now I do it since getting down on the hard floor is too painful for mum's knees.
I'm doing okay thanks. A bit achy and I've got some lovey bruising and swelling around my eye. The cuts don't appear too serious. Applied a bit of antibiotic ointment to them. Discovered a bruise on the ball of my right shoulder. Guess I made contact with it too. Plus my right index and middle finger are mildly sprained. No one seems to believe me when I answer that my mother beats me when they ask what happened.
