Cadet 7. The Squad + Boomers, Gen Xers, & Millenials

This is a wonderful continuation of the life for someone we got to know in the CJ series. Ritch follows his dreams, and grows as a person before our eyes. He gives others the support and guidance they need to also grow. It's an incredible journey of that scared boy who lost his parents to becoming an officer in the United States Air Force. While I may be biased at having worked with Carlos several projects, I can't recommend this book enough. It's great as a stand alone, even better with all the others he's written about the family and their friends.

Another quality addition to the CJ series, this one focusing on Ritch and his evolution from basic cadet to 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force Academy.  This is a must read for the excellence in writing, the depth of characters and plot. 

One of the most entertaining books of the CJ series.  We get to know Ritch (no longer Richie) as more than CJ's little brother.  He gathers his own diverse squad of men (and one woman) that will stick with him for life.  We also get catch-ups with some of our favorite past characters and teasers for the next book!  

Carlos keeps writing great stories to continue/expand the CJ universe. In this book Ritch/Ritchie is growing up

Cadet is the best story yet from Carlos Hazday.  His characters are always interesting with a bit of humor.  In the past it seems that good things just came to them, partly due to the privilege that comes with being wealthy. Not that they didn't work hard as well, just a little unbelievable.  That is not the case with Cadet. Rich, the main character is also from that same wealthy family, but seems more interested in being judged on his own.  When he uses his wealth it is almost always for others and he is loath to take any credit, preferring not to be in the limelight. He is an advocate for others and also takes his responsibilities as an Air Force Academy Cadet very seriously.  He is a force to recon with as either a friend or a foe.  The story follows his life through the USAF Academy. The plot lines are very well drawn and we meet a number of characters who are quite different from in the past.  I highly recommend this story as well as previous stories by Carlos Hazday.  Although you might want to read the other stories first, it is definitely not necessary. After reading Cadet, however you will certainly want to read the rest of the stories. 

This is the story of how CJ's no longer "little" brother Ritch spreads his wings and takes flight ...

This story is part of a universe of stories while it can be read alone I highly recommend reading the earlier stories to have a better understanding of Ritch.

Ritch, CJ's teen-aged half-brother, leaves home for the Air Force Academy and grows up along the way.

Under authority and within the military hierarchy, Ritch confronts, and is confronted by, class/schoolmates, higher-ups, calamity, strange cultures, his family's past, and perceptions of his wealth.

Ritch has MANY sexual conquests, all of them more or less off-stage, but discovers that more than sex, he really wants love.

He desperately wants to fly jets, yet he can't get away from wanting to do the right thing by his friends.

Along the way, he gathers a new circus of people with brains, hearts, and courage who he is proud to support and who are proud to support him through thick and thin.

Another enjoyable read which has encouraged me to go all the way back to the beginning of the saga!!

This is another entrant into the wider CJ universe.

In this one we follow CJ's younger brother Ritch as he works his way through the USAF academy.

This is a fantastic story where we see Ritch grow up from a little kid to a well grounded Officer in the airforce.

As with all Carlos's stories we are treated to humour as well as serious topics which are all well written.

We have cameos from all the usual suspects, but we see Ritch develop his own core of friends within in the accamedy.

A truly fantastic story that comes highly recommended as does the whole CJ universe.
