    Chapter 1

Glad you enjoyed it Percy. I try not to repeat the same thing and try to show something different in my stories. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Chapter 1

Thank you for the review Sanguine. Glad you enjoyed the story.

    Chapter 1

Hephaestus is Hera and Zeus' son. He was charged with the creation of Pandora and the box for Zeus. I'm glad you enjoyed the story. I was happy with how it turned out.
  4. Ancient civilizations, aliens, the CIA, and so much more. Bill, you really went all out on this one. From a young love to the fate of the world, you handled it all and very easily. Nice story. I really enjoyed it, especially seeing how one was so devoted to the other that he followed him into the same profession.

    I Am Fine

Unfortunately I've seen this sort of defense mechanism before. I am just glad he was finally able to break down and deal with the tragedy he had been through. I like the way you handle the switches between his blank present and his painful past till the two mesh and become his future. Very well handled. Can't wait to see your next project.

    Prologue

    Interesting set up.

    Hope

I'm glad to see I am not the only one to return to the original myth for inspiration. You did a really great job setting up the discord between Pandora and her daughter. Hope is such a fragile thing, and I think you handled it with a very deft hand here. Beautiful story and like the deliberate distinctions between mother and daughter while still allowing the love of one for the other to show.
  8. I never pictured hoped as an ugly man who stripped. Your take was unusual and I am glad to see parts of the original tale visited in yours. It was a really sweet tale. I look forward to seeing you participate in other anthologies.

    Dual Edged Hope

Well nice to see the whole idea of who knows who best turned on its head. Poor boy is just a big awkward sort of fellow who needs his best friend to help set him on the right road. Panic is just one hell of problem to overcome. Really like the way you handled this Cia, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

    Story: Part 1

Life has a way of getting you where you need to be. It was almost like fate stepped in here. He opened the door to Shepard's house like opening up Pandora's box, unsure of exactly what it was he found. Hope? Horror> His own past? Nicely done.

    Chapter 1

I truthfully was wondering if a lot of people were going to go for the box, but you did and in an interesting take. I liked the fact with all the sex and stuff going on all he did was get to kiss the guy he found attractive at the end. Nicely done.

    Chapter 1

See Kitt, you were worried for nothing. It was a deceptively sweet poem. Once released it can't be contained again. Nicely done.
  13. Well everything she does is immediately held up to the Harry Potter ruler. At least here she can visit the world but not have to deal with Harry at all.
  14. Trust me they are well worth the read. Now I can comment.

    Chapter 1

Dory wiped down the counter one more time before checking her watch. She pulled her long black mane of hair into a pony tail as she looked through the pass thru to the hulking mass that was the cook. Standing at a little over six foot five, her classically built husband strolled effortlessly about his compact kitchen. His white cook’s outfit seemed stretched to the limits to contain his muscular body. “You ready back there, Gus?” She heard him grunt. It would be a while before he would talk to
  16. Dory runs a nice little luncheonette that is her whole life. However, today things just aren't going her way. When problems pop up she can't handle, her past shows up to complicate her life in ways she just wasn't expecting.
  17. Happy Belated Birthday Connor

    Chapter 1

Well life doesn't always end with a happily ever after. Sometimes people don't realize what they mean to someone and they move on. Just one of those where things aren't perfect. Thanks for reading and commenting Nostalgic.
  19. Okay who has something new?
  20. Happy Birthday Robert.
  21. Ron it is up to you. The ones like the list of words or the first line are there to see how many different ways you can use that idea and come up with something new. That is what some authors enjoy. It is a challenge for them. Others like to work within the constraints of an idea. Whether you use it exactly as it is, or as spring board for your own story, the main idea behind the prompts is to get an author writing and enjoying the experience. The end result should hopefully be a story that can be shared with the entire site. Remember, if you don't like this week's prompts don't be afraid to look back and see what else is there. I mean we are presently at over 200 prompts and growing. Enjoy!
  22. I was never one to write Fan-fic. I have read some, both good and bad. To me it is reading the work and seeing the world that is created. I loved the world of witches and wizards - yes, I do love Harry but before him there was a series called - The Worst Witch. That whole area isn't new, but it is up the creator of those worlds to give an audience something unique. Those who chose to write in the worlds already created are working hard to both honor the original creation which they enjoyed and create something they wish could have or would have happened in the story. Whether you look at new movies of Sherlock Holmes, the modern take on Sherlock called Elementary, or the British tv series where Holmes now has all his old stories played against today aren't these just new forms of fan-fic of the original? As far as an editor or beta for these works I believe it must always be a testament to the team as a whole whether something is successful or not. If the writer, beta, and editor do not mesh well, then the stories won't work. Like them or hate them if the team does work together as a cohesive unit then I see nothing wrong with them.
  23. The kids are back to school, there is a slight nip to the air, and we are barely finished with the first week of September. Guess that means I have new victims, um, I mean volunteers for the new prompts. As usual I hope I have something fresh and tempting to get you to write again. Prompt 260 – Creative Tag – list of words Use the following words in a story – plane ticket, watch, broken shoe, flash light, nude statue Prompt 261 – Creative Tag – The Changeling One look and you knew the child wasn’t the same one the parents had left the hospital with. How do you explain to the two worried parents that their child isn’t really sick, but that the iron cross that they put on to protect the child is killing it, and that their baby isn’t the one they are crying over. Cursed as you are to see all of reality for what it really is, how do you tell them that their beloved child is a changeling? It seems that there are three authors who just seem to attempt the prompts regularly lately, for which I am eternally grateful. This time the prompt story chosen dealt with the author using the first line - “So you decided to tell me that now?” We had two authors attempt it and both went for weddings, but Kitt had a more comedic take on it which sort of reminded me of some weddings I've been to. Curious? Well here is part of Kitt's story, Two Weddings and a Nervous Breakdown. So would you like to know how it ends? Of course you do. You can find the end of Kitt's and Sasha Distan's take on this prompt here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37570-prompt-258-creative/ The attempts at the other prompt last week can be found here - http://www.gayauthors.org/forums/topic/37571-prompt-259-creative/ Remember - All entries for the Fall Anthology - Pandora's Box are due by September 8th. If you are still working on yours, hurry! In the meantime remember to read, write, and review. Have a good week everyone. - Wayne
  24. I remember doing that beta a long time ago.
  25. I think Charlie is like most people. You might see sparks of who they are, but it is only once they are comfortable with who they are that they really shine. Charlie's life has been fairly steady and nothing has pushed him to stand on his own. He was the baby of the family, loved, protected, and fairly quiet and shy. Now life has changed a bit and suddenly he has to face what is happening. What those changes do to him is yet to be seen, but eventually you will see who Charlie really is.
