Chapter 2 The cab crawled behind a large excavator, engulfed in a cloud of dust. When he wasn't cursing and slapping the wheel, the driver negotiated his way through our city leader’s latest cleanup project. Buildings with broken windows and graffiti would soon become upmarket condominiums, loft apartments, shops and restaurants - if I believed all those brightly colored sales hoardings around me. In an attempt to re-urbanize the industrial park, the city had sold property for a nominal price.

Thank you, Def. I think that's an intriguing question. What affects the building of a person? Are we just a mix between outer influences? If we think about those influences, knew them, would we fight them? I don't want to be affected by him, her, this? Would it be bad, if Luis and Tristan influence him? If he decides he like Diarmad, does this automatically mean it isn't by his own free will? Ha, you made me think about my own story, lol.

Poetry prompt 14 - Ballade
Aditus commented on Puppilull's story chapter in Poetry prompt 14 - Ballade
To get into your ballade, I had to read it loud a few times, and when I had it right, I loved it. -
Ha, Mike, you're right. This is much information. Makes us feel with Noel I hope? When I wrote this, more and more question came up and I had to answer them... Thank you for your review! Glad you still want more.
-
Yes! You're spot on. Noel will have problems with this question... Love this: At the same time, how do anyone really know why they are attracted to someone? Or fall in love? Thank you, Puppi!
-
Lol...yes many questions still, but they will be answered, I can promise this at least. We're going at Noel's pace. We get to know what he gets to know, even when it feels slow. Noel learns something new and the next question comes up. And you're right, seeing his grandmother dying was very traumatic for him. We will learn more about this in the next chapter. Thank you so much for your comment, Lit.

'In special circumstances, we can approach our intended mates earlier, but not by much. ' Thanksgiving isn't that far away from Christmas, so Diarmad was finally allowed to approach Noel. Noel will become eighteen on Christmas. For th rest...next chapters will reveal more. I'm so happy you're this much into the story. Thank you for your wonderful comments, Cannd. They are very much appreciated.

Well...I guess I did something right then. I'm glad you're intrigued, dugh. Thank you so much for reading and commenting.

The Holly and the Ivy Chapter Three I read the letter again, and then again, carefully folding it each time before putting it back in its envelope, only to pull it out and read it once more. This is crazy! Did they really expect me to believe this? I was to be the future mate…husband…consort…equal to a king of an alien race living among us for centuries? Impossible. I must have hit my head harder than I thought. It was my grandmother's handwriting. A bad joke? A hoax? Hallucination? She had al

Happy Birthday, Sui!
-
Sui, this was such a great story. I absolutely enjoyed it. It had everything: great characters, an exciting and well crafted story. I was on the edge of my seat at the end, and in the middle and at the start. lol. I couldn't imagine how they could get out of this mess. For some reason I really like Raphael, and if you ever feel like writing about him, I will read it. Thank you for sharing.
-
I'm so glad you think this is different! I wanted it to be just that. Noel needs to be special to do the right things and not to freak too much. Thank you for your review, Def. I always love getting you know your thoughts.
-
And you laid out the dilemma perfectly. What did I do? Right? Emotions to play with, impossible situations to solve...I'm way over my head, haha. Thank you for your comment, Lit. I'm glad your reading my story and tell me what you think.
-
Okay, I'm coming over. Somebody help me to get this out of my head. Friend showed it to me yesterday...

Chapter 17-Poetry Prompt 14- Ballade- Beauty feeding Bloat
Aditus commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 17-Poetry Prompt 14- Ballade- Beauty feeding Bloat
You did it! I found this poetry prompt really deserved the word 'challenge'. Quite provokative, Gary! I can rely. Still, we should remember that without the church many beautiful pieces of art wouldn't excist, as in the past only the church and nobles were able to pay the artists. It boils down to the old question: Is art worth the money paid for it, or should it be invested somewhere else and art is pure luxus and waste of money? -
I like the little 'side-stories' e.g. the moon colonists, it adds to the atmosphere. Well, Jer is Jer. I assume he is a typical representative for his species? If so, we can't be angry with him, I think. I'm curious what happens next.
-
Valid objections which will be explained in the next chapters. Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Cannd! Many questions... they will be answered eventually. I like that you want to know more about this world.
-
Lol, yes lots of information. That's why the chapter ended here. Thank you for your comment, Mike! I'm glad you want more.
-
...a bit unusual. Good! Thank you, avidreader!
-
There will be some more explaining in the next chapters. But you're right, not easy to be Noel. Thank you, Puppi. I'm glad you'll keep reading.
-
Well, the letter was a bit much and Noel needed a break to think. Thank you, dughlas for your comment. I'm glad you still like it.

The Holly and the Ivy Chapter Two It was a strange sensation, being hot and cold at the same time. Something warm and solid was in front of me, yet the back of my head felt cold. A shiver ran down my spine and I instinctively tried to get closer to the warmth. Until my brain booted, and I realized I was cuddling with someone lying beside me. I rolled quickly away. Pain spiked through my head, making me lie still. I panted through the hurt, until it became bearable, then slowly opened my eyes t

My thoughts exactly. I like the surprise idea: everyone's on occasion, otherwise spotlight prompt stories.

Thank you for checking out the story, and leaving a review, AC! You borrow every phrase you want, being not a native speaker/writer, I find this very flattering. Oh yes, tall, guys in leather... I'll grab a cup of coffee now, and then post the next chapter.
