Every time I read 'Put on the kettle.' I have to smile. It's such a reassuring ritual, something simple people take solace from.
I really like your poem.
Martin smiled when he saw Jessa skipping down the small stage, her red dress quickly disappearing between the tables. It was ten o’clock, her shift was over and she couldn’t get out fast enough. Usually he had the early shift from eight to ten on a Tuesday, but it was Valentine’s Day and Jessa had a hot date, so they’d swapped shifts.
After a short bow he sat down behind the baby grand, and smiled as he perused his audience. The bar was busier then he’d expected and it was only partly the usual
LOL. Yes Ren can be a little intense, but as Irri pointed out somewhere, maybe Jonah needs someone like Ren to get his act together, to react...Thank you for your comment, Puppilull!
I'm glad you like your story.
Hahaha, well Jonah just had some vacation time, so he should be a little more relaxed... And maybe Michael's little trick helped, and the talking too. Or Jonah is just saving up for the great boom?Thank you for your comment, Lisa!
Ha! For a moment you had me here. Isn't playing with my reader's emotion my job? Full scale experience and all...Yes, you're right, I'm not exactly the 'adjective' user, passion-filled or otherwise, never was and probably never will be. Maybe I can throw in one or two next time.
Thank you for your comments!
First Light
Too early, and still it is not,
my eyes stay firmly closed.
The warmth's waging war with the cold,
I don't want to hear -but-
A white cup beckons me over,
it's smell ambrosial.
That's cheating my dear, I tell you,
one kiss and time to go.
And will be doing what? Hmm hmm you're giving me ideas...Yes I agree with you, Jonah not being angry with Ren is nice for a change. How long will it last?
I'm glad I don't have to duck behind my desk for the next week, except when Dave looks in my direction.
Thanks, Irri!
Hahahaha. I have to admit I wrote this sentence with your inner Jonah in mind.Oh yes, Ren will be grasping at straws...
Thank you Tim! I love your comments.
“Fuck the archbishop! " After this I was lost. Too many pictures in my head which had nothing to do with your story but everything with current events. I still don't know if I should laugh or vomit.
After a few deep breaths I was back to enjoying the chapter. Thank you.
You think? Deteriorating resolve? Maybe Jonah has still something to say to this.Yes Michael...I feel so bad. I really do. And thinking of what I have still planned...oops.
Thank you Cole! I'm glad you approve.
I'm really sorry, but the chapter would have been too long aaaaand sometimes I just can't resist.
At least I will be forgiven eventually. Thank you Dave!
OMG! You should have called this 'Noble Heart Contest'. Chad stays in the car because he believes Peterson wants to tell Roy he likes him and then Peterson doesn't say anything because he sees that Chad likes Roy and vice versa. Roy must be one hell of a man.
Great chapter Cole!
Thank you so much that there wasn't anymore drama. I hate it when authors draw this out, and out, and out.
Really cute. I absolutely liked: things didn’t quite go as we hoped, but a lot better. YAY!
What's next?
On the patio at Rick and Matteo’s restaurant
When something started to smell delicious, I looked at my phone and realized it was almost lunchtime. That would explain the nagging feeling in my stomach. I followed my nose to the kitchen with the hope that Matteo was wielding his magic spoon not only for the restaurant’s evening crowd but for our lunch too.
Seeing him stirring in a pan looked promising. "Can I help you?"
"With what?" He looked at me skeptically but then his gaze stopped at my he
Abel and Dennis work well together. That's promising. Life isn't all about fun after all. And if Dennis doesn't get on well with his brother...there is a better place to work and live. Right?
Is an ex. Yes. Jonah insisted on telling Zach all the embarrassing details, though. That doesn't mean he won't get it eventually, steep learning curve and all. Thanks for your comment, Carlos.
Could you write Irri or me into the next chapter please, so that one of us can take the two of them, put them into a broom closet or something and come back an hour later to see if they have finally sorted it out!?
Great chapter btw.
Yep, that was funny and so true. LOL Should we call him Jonah's hindsight consciousness?
A new fan club? No brother of Sandro's in sight, sorry.
Thank you Lisa!
