  1. Glad you enjoyed it. I don't usually write stories for the holidays, but I thought for a change I would. Nice to know it's been appreciated.
  2. Thanks for the review Joann. The kids will get a little single malt whisky in their cocoa, that should help them
  3. Thanks for the review sacred I'm glad you liked it. I do plan to write some kind of follow up when I get the time; but that probably won't be until next year.

    Chapter 1

Thanks for the review RJ. I don't know how I missed it. I needed to make Jake the saviour in this story. It just didn't feel right leaving him unredeemed.
  5. It had been a cold end to October, and the ground was covered in snow. Jason had just gotten back from trick or treating with his three children and his neighbour’s youngest two sons. Since it was nearly ten o’clock, Jason sent the kids to get ready for bed. They were planning on sleeping together in the living room, so Jason gathered up some pillows, sleeping bags and a huge blanket for everyone to snuggle under. As soon as the kids returned wearing their pyjamas, Alex said, “Tell us a stor
  6. Welcome Noah Hope you enjoy our little world. Welcome to everyone else who has joined since my last message. I hope you're all enjoying the site.
  7. I always like seeing new people taking on these prompts. A great effort Joann. One down, one hundred and seventy eight left for you to do
  8. That is so funny Joann, but it is also so true. I have some space in our back garden where I would be willing to **cough** stash dead body **cough**
  9. Have a fantastic day Maria
  10. **pleads the fifth**

    Chapter #13

Oh good, so it's not just me then who thinks that Thomas is gay. Whatever the reason his dad is beating him, it is really sucky. Getting him to tell a teacher or the principal isn't going to be the easiest thing, but I hope he does, and quickly.
  15. I used to follow Dandy and Beano, and I used to buy all of the annuals, but the prices charged these days are ridiculous. When I first started buying Dandy and Beano comics (early 1980s), the comics were 8p each (now £1.50 for the exact same comic, and I'm not paying that for a 35 page comic)
  16. Welcome Hayden. Hope you enjoy the site And you definitely have to pop into chat every now and again, but be warned, it is very addictive
  17. I agree that this should be pinned. So many authors are turning to publishing, especially since it is now easier to get gay fiction published now than at any other time. Another great tip from another great author.

    Chapter 1

This really is a great story. It's even better now that I can enjoy just reading it (with a very large glass of Merlot ), and get wrapped up in it, without constantly casting a critical eye over it with the proverbial red pen in hand. As KC said, it does feel very real and seems so personal. I would also like to see more of Ray and Josh. Can you say "sequel"!
  19. A great interview. And here I used to think Cia was just someone out there in cyberspace who used to berate me for flooding the mod queue
  20. Happy birthday. Have a great one!
  21. I'm a major trypanophobe (fear of needles). I used to be okay as a younger child getting my inoculations (shots), but when I was 8 or 9 and needed an operation, it took the anaesthetist 6 or 7 sticks to get the needle into a vein. Ever since then, I just can't be around them without suffering a vasovagal attack (I get hot, start sweating, get lightheaded, become nauseous and faint) - and it's even worse whenever I need to have a blood test done, or get my Hepatitis A and B inoculations updated. Please feel free to laugh at me for working on a chemotherapy ward The children cope with the constant injections and blood tests a lot easier that I ever could. Public speaking in front of strangers. I'm fine giving talks and presentations at work, but it's when I have to give them at network events I panic. The main reason, is I tend to stutter. It's not usually noticeable, but it's worse when I'm giving presentations.
  22. This looks like it was a lot of fun, and given that we now have a regular chat room (with a lot of regular chat users), I'm sure there would be a lot of support for its return.
  23. Happy Birthday Dark. Hope you had a fun day.
  24. Two more great prompts. I love the sound of #174. Tony803 certainly has made a good start to a prompt story, but how can he say bad things about spiders
  25. Joyeux anniversaire Elez Hope you had a fun day
