  1. The first time I saw it I thought it was brilliant. Although the fact it is all about McNuggets left me a bit meh at the end.
  2. Happy Birthday, Nostic
  3. I also heard this song today and some of the lyrics really spoke to me. Particularly these two sections: Starting right now I’ll be strong. I’ll play my fight song. And I don’t really care if nobody else believes, ‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me. Like a small boat, on the ocean. Sending big waves, into motion. Like how a single word, can make a heart open. I might only have one match, but I can make an explosion.
  4. I heard this song on the way back to work and wanted to share it.
  5. GA is happy to announce our newest promotion to Promising Author, Puppilull! Puppilull has only been writing on our site for just over a year now, but she's already posted several unique stories that have grabbed our readers' attention. If you haven't read any of her work before, let me suggest her contemporary romances Thaw and Frost. My personal favorite is a historical short story, Lupercalia, written for this year's Secret Admirer story contest. Puppilull seems to have a way of creating interesting and distinct characters that draw you into her stories from the opening paragraphs, and we look forward to seeing what new plots and twists she has in store for us! Leave a note here to congratulate Puppilull on her promotion, and then check out her stories here! I'd also like to thank each member of the Author Promotion Team (Cia, Graeme, Mann and Renee) for taking the time to read and review Puppilull's work.
  6. Happy Birthday, James!
  7. Emi, EmiGS, or you could go G.S. too. Initials are all the rage.
  8. We each handle stressful/emotional situations differently and it has little to do with our body build, gender, orientation, or race. This is why in a thread found in The Pit a while back trying to ask if men and women are equal I defiantly said we are each individuals and refused to back down from that point of view. I find nothing wrong with either your response or his response. My friend Gabe is just as muscular as you, but his emotional responses are far more like your friend's. Emotional individuals often get frowned upon by more stoic individuals because they aren't wired the same. I have heard way too many straight-acting gay men demean effeminate gay men using derogatory language. I believe the world would truly be a boring place if we were all as uniform as those that embrace group thinking believe we are. I'd rather just be myself and not some Balkanized-American that clearly only acts as everyone else does in that Balkanized grouping. Both of you keep being proud of who YOU are. Hopefully those individuals in that car will one day grow the fuck up as well.
  9. Happy Birthday, Mann
  10. I've moved this topic to The Lounge where it belongs. Welcome to the site.
  11. Next up on W_L's web tips series: 1. You should actually check the air pressure in your tires. Don't just assume that they are inflated properly! 2. Don't ignore the check engine light! Have someone check the engine! 3. Stop buying things you can't afford. 4. That tub of ice cream isn't going to fix what your crappy ex-boyfriend did.
  12. Happy Birthday, Renee!
  13. Happy Birthday, LBO!
  14. Happy Birthday, Shiny!
  15. Matt, I really felt like I had my shit together in my twenties. I had all of these life goals and I quickly put a check mark next to almost all of them. I worked a lot of extra hours in my twenties trying to meet the goals and ended up exchanging money for happiness. Now, years later, I look back and wish I could tell myself not to stress so much about reaching those goals. I'm now making changes to my life to reduce stress and make happiness my number one priority. But even saying that, I'm still unsure of whether or not I'm making the right choices. Hell, I fucked up my twenties, so how can I be so sure I'm making the right choices now? I think we often learn best from our past mistakes and life experiences. We only get one life to my knowledge, so I encourage you to do what makes you happy and never to judge your success or your life against others at your age. I believe you'll find the right path for you. P.S. Did I mention I've just decided to open a modeling agency? I'd be happy to have you model for me.
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. This song, to me, is one of the greatest unrequited love songs ever written. I can't watch the video without bursting into tears. The scene where the old man kisses his wife in the hospital bed reminds me of my grandma kissing my grandfather at his funeral before they closed the casket.
  18. Heard this song on the way to work in my rotation. I'm planning on making some considerable changes to my life and these lyrics stuck out in particular: Am I wrong For thinking out the box from where I stay? Am I wrong For saying that I choose another way? I ain't trying to do what everybody else doin' Just 'cause everybody doin' what they all do If one thing I know, I'll fall but I'll grow I'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home ... Am I tripping For having a vision? My prediction I'ma be on the top of the world Walk your walk and don't look back, Always do what you decide Don't let them control your life, that's just how I feel oh whoa Fight for yours and don't let go, Don't let them compare you, no Don't worry, you're not alone, that's just how we feel
  19. GA is happy to announce our newest promotion to Promising Author, Albertnothlit! Albert has only been with the site for just over a year now, but he's already posted quite a variety of stories for our readers to enjoy. If you haven't checked out his work before, try out sci-fi fan favorite Tantalus, contemporary romance Josh.mp4, or his latest sci-fi serial story Life Seed. Albert seems to have a knack for writing science fiction, and we look forward to seeing what new worlds Albert has in store for us. Leave a note here to congratulate Albertnothlit on his promotion, and then check out his stories here! I'd also like to thank each member of the Author Promotion Team (Cia, Graeme, Mann and Renee) for taking the time to read and review Albert's work.
