I think making light of the change in Felicia is to overlook the fact that a young girl was raped and then lost the person who was closest to her next to her mom who she watched be killed. Those scumbag soldiers should have been called off from doing that, whether or not the Colonel was mad or not. I'm surprised the ones caught at the van didn't make a bigger deal about their lives being spared by Tristan, Mark and Dan. I mean, their lives were measured in minutes. I was hoping Mark would tell Dan how he felt when things got so serious. is he willing to admit how he feels? Dan is such a nurturer. I feel badly for Grey, but how could they have taken care of Elena and for how long? Maybe her life won't be in vane and they will figure out something about the virus. I wonder if the colonel's plan is ruined or not?

Impunity...great word, Oli's dad is a cockweasel! lol. I am joining HOOD-haters of oli's dad! That guy is such a dick. He has treated his child with derision which is so much worse than just ignoring him. He is a freaking pervert who not only fucks an animal, but buys a puppy so he can do so! That scene was so sad, but there was a strong perverted feeling to have that disgusting couple looking down on Oli and taking off together, leaving him to follow as the lowest ranking member. I think that Oli should tell this poor woman what her husband is! Please!! This woman lives to take care of his father and keeps his little calendar which tells when he can cheat on her with the family dog! UGGH! Ok, now that that is out of my system...I really hope that Oli can find happiness. I agree with the person who wrote that there are such basic things they can't do. To not be able to talk about where they want to go at the same time is so hard. They have a plus that they can read 'canine language', but it isn't the same. They are spending quality time and falling for each other more and more, but there is so much intimacy lost (and not just sexual), just in the absence of the ability to hold a conversation. I hope they find a way around it, but until then, I hope that Oli can become comfortable with his feelings. I think that boris is more likely to say it first, so it may have to wait till they switch forms again. I wonder whether it is harder for him b/c Boris is 'younger' b/c of his relatively short time in human skin? Does he feel like he's taking advantage of Boris? I think Boris knows him a bit better than he thinks, b/c I think he'd have barged in that bathroom at one point, but he gave Oli the privacy. I hope Oli can get past that shame that his dad has clearly instilled in him over much of who he is. For once, I have NO idea/theory for how you will work things out for this couple. But, I hope you can.

wonderful ending. you did a great job throughout expressing the emotions of the characters. I could feel the conflict of knowing his brother was bad initially and feeling guilt at his being condemned to death. it would be a hard issue, but then the feeling of seeing him so evil and hateful would have been horrible. I love how Kayden was more outgoing in the end. I think this would be a great first book. I'd love to see a 2nd one where he becomes king. What do they accomplish in changing laws for slaves/nekos? What position can Kayden hold in his life. Can a king marry a former slave? what would life at court be like for them? I really hope you consider doing this. It feels like there should be more of the story. awesome story...thanks again for the fast pace of posting.

Nice to see Luke back up to snuff. He needs a bit of swagger to add to the sweet side of him. he's doing great with his bf and those two really are perfect together! I loved the pic you painted of the spur of the moment game. I really want to see that Coach get fired! he's a douche. now how does erie keep salad fresh till the next day? was the dressing on it? lol

kick ass chapter. I would like Damien to find out his brother raped kayden. that would make his doing in even better. How sad, I can't believe he didn't check Kayden sooner though. Damien is gonna feel like shit for not doing so. he should have realized that kayden woud have been on top of him to be sure he was okay! sounds like a bad bad wound. do nekos have special healing abilities? cuz that is a bad place to be stuck. don't wanna go septic if stomach or intestines are punctured. poor little neko has been through a lot for his love. Wouldn't Damien immediately yell for the guard to go locate roman? was kinda obvious he got in through the balcony, afterall, the guard is in the hall. ahhh waiting for the next chapter is gonna suck! hope it comes soon. great job.

Why don't they have the shooter look at Roman and say if it was him? Duh...I think they would have thought of that...they could put Oliver, John, Harrison, etc in a line up. Also, who was aware of his ride? I'd like you to include more about nekos if possible. telling us about his protective instinct. do they have mates usually? Are they protective towards mates like this only or is it just as strong an instinct toward anyone they love. I don't think Damien should get mad at kayden or following his instincts. The person trying to get someone to kill him, namely roman, is getting more brazen. He will need Kayden around to possibly save his life. I also would love to see more interaction between Kayden and Damien. We are seeing this bond form in the beginning. It is sweet and we see them begin to fall in love..but I'd like to see more of their relationship develop by the time we get to this point in the story and have them be in love. I'd also like to have them talk more about their relationship. what are their options? Will it only be what it is now in person? Will they only be able to be slave and owner in public? how does his being next in line to be king affect that? These are things I would have asked for more of if beta reading, so I write them only b/c you mention maybe doing some re-writes later. Overall, it is still a wonderful story. I just feel stuck on how this has gotten so deep a relationship without more intimacy and getting to know one another in the story. I also wonder if they have had sex yet, as that would be a huge thing for Kayden. I know he mentions embarrassment about what the guards may hear in the room at night, so I wondered how far they have gone sexually. I hardly think that not making us wait for updates can negatively affect a story. I have a folder in my favs for stories I'm waiting for updates on. There are no less than 150 stories in it from the past 3 yrs or so. I accept that most of them will never be finished. Some are only a chapter or two into it, others are much further along. If I'm being honest, it's hard to read a chapter and know another week is going to go by before the next. It's like getting one forkful of your favorite dessert and knowing you must wait for the next time you go out to eat to have one more. In the case of 'wed briefs' or other such things, we accept it b/c it I an exercise for the writers and those are the rules. And for other stories written on a free fiction website, you guys write this for us and share with us for free, so who are we to demand more and faster? That said, it's torture at times waiting for an update to a good story. it certainly is more satisfying to catch a story at the end so you can keep reading like you would a normal book. I like to think that it also benefits writers to post in parts b/c they can work the feedback, questions, suggestions, comments, etc. into their books. At the same time, I like to think authors are also readers, so know that the more time between updates, the more chance readers must re-read a story to get back into it, which is a frustrating. I also like to think they know what it's like to get into a story and not see it finished. Personally, I haven't had a story updated multiple times in a day before...maybe I've seen two chapters in a day..but no more often than that. This has been a HUGE breath of fresh air. It has been fun and I actually say 'yea!' out loud each time I see a new chapter up. I, too, am checking throughout the day. I can't imagine who could say this 'serial posting' hurts a story. I think the serial poster comment was made by an author who took longer to write and had frustrated readers . That is the only thing that makes sense. Thanks for this story!!

I am so glad Kayden told him about the threat. I still wanted him to find out about the rape. He deserves to be skinned alive for that. I don't know much about the hierarchy of the time, but why can't a Marquis be punished by a duke? Obviously, he's more powerful. I felt like this chapter was a tad rushed. i'd have liked Damien to ask him about the bruises on his neck. I'd have liked him to hear about everything. I guess he would have wanted to calm Kayden, but his emotions are strong where he is involved. Especially, if he reacts so much less violently when hearing his brother is trying to coordinate his death. I'd expect him to call Harrison at least. I am wondering how much time had passed. I assume more than one day, at least that it wasn't the same night b/c he was able to move about. I love this and don't want it to speed up or end too soon! It's such a great story.

great chapter. poor little Kayden. I was a bit frustrated that Damien didn't go after Kayden and see what happened. He loves him and yet he let a scratch keep him inside brooding? Why not go ask him. That said, I can only hope he is now going to protect him better. I have to ask, has Roman showed no aspirations to be more than his status? And how many things have to go wrong b4 they question his integrity? I hope Kayden will now tell the truth. I hope they will take his word now if he admits to the rape. The story has been great. The bond between Kayden and Damien is tangible. I would like to see them talk and get to know each other better though. I loved moments like when they came in on them playing. That was great to see Kayden carefree and it sounds like it was good for Damien to be like that too. We know Kayden's background, but we don't know anything about Damien. I also have to wonder, what relationship can they have when he can't even have Kayden sit at the table as a slave? If a year goes by, is a freed slave able to be a partner to a duke? I thought it sweet/brave that Damien is open with others about how he feels about Kayden. Keep up the awesome work!!! And I am hoping to find 13 soon. We're spoiled by you!!! thanks!

another great chapter....i'm loving this one. Harrison is sweet and I like him a lot. His brother and him could do a lot of good. I am surprised he didn't mention Kayden's nervousness around Roman though. He's totally perceptive enough to see it. I hope Roman gets his and then maybe you can do Harrison's story?

You rock with all the updates I really am sad that he didn't grab onto the fact that roman called him 'tiger' which provoked that reaction. I think he owes it to him to ask if his jerk *&% of a brother. Damien is a good man and I am glad that Kayden has him and trusts him. On the other note, I hope that he can protect him. Leaving him behind could do the poor boy in if tortured by Roman. I wonder for their future. The reality is that Damien is going to be king someday which will mean marrying and having an heir I am sure. He won't be able to be with his little Neko even if Kayden becomes free. I am sure that isn't done. I'm definitely hooked to your story and can't wait for more!!!

I'm glad Harrison is so astute....I think it is sweet that Damien and kayden are bonding. It seems Dike they both could use that in their lives. doesn't he see Roman is jealous of the brother? He did make the observation that he and Damien didn't enjoy their titles, while Roman does. I think Damien is in danger, but I worry about Kayden who really can't defend himself, more. When Roman sees Damien cares for him b/c he'll be a way to get at and hurt Roman. My hope is if Damien leaves Kayden to do something or go somewhere, that he will leave him in the care of trusted slaves or that Harry will keep an eye out for him. That Roman is a bad dude. I can't wait for more! Thanks for the fast updates...it makes it nice to keep getting chapters when a story is good.

Nate is so damn independent that despite having 3 guys would have gladly been there to help him, probably even controlled their protective instincts to let him handle it and be there for him for protection (ok, so maybe guy and takashi might have really had a hard time doing so lol), he goes alone! STUPID!!! Even if they find he's missing, what will they do? They can't track him in a car, right? gosh, hope they find a way to get to him. I hope by the end of the story, he can learn to trust and learn he's not alone. I hope he can see it doesn't make him weak to depend on someone. enjoying the story a lot. I am glad they kept him in the kitchen so that bastard Roman doesn't rape him again. I hope Damien can realize his brother is dangerous. I hope Kayden can realize he's safe with him. They probably could help each other. Poor Kayden has had such a tough life. Hope it gets better.

You have me goin crazy on this one. how can this work? these two are really the most starcrossed lovers I've read about. they have romeo and Juliet beat hands down! How can they have a relationship when they can't be human at the same time. I was hoping against hope that boris not feeling the change coming on would mean he'd not turn back to a wolf, but I knew in my heart that wasn't possible. I really want to see what you will do! is there someone who can teach them more about Boris and are there others of his kind? it was interesting to see more of his background and what it said to me was that his problem with living this double life he couldn't share was hard, but worse was living under his father's rules and his crappy attitude. His father is a hard man who has really caused Oli a lot of heart ache and his being a shit father makes it surprising that Oli is as good a person as he is. I feel badly that oli had to learn what it was to be werewolf from him and had to deal with his cold treatment he received instead of love and support. It's a wonder he doesn't hate himself and hate being a werewolf more than he does at times. oli has a lot of love to give and I hope that he can find a way to share it with Boris. Likewise, poor Boris has led such a lonely life and he is just as happy living with and falling for Oli as Oli has for him. Will you give them a chance to??? Has the story played that far ahead yet? have they told you if they're gonna end up together somehow in a man to man relationship? I do hope so. I think they both can heal one another's souls and have a strong relationship built on love and trust and consideration, etc. Well, I hope something changes. can't wait for more.

Very good Christmas with the Taylors. I only was surprised they didn't invite his parents since they included them in Thanksgiving celebrations. I think it is sweet that he and Marcus are so happy. I am only wondering if the rug is going to fall out from under them at some point. I particularly enjoy the family get-togethers b/c the personalities are great. They are much less dysfunctional without Marjorie there, than most families. I loved the sweater thing. I can't believe the baby boom happening in the family. I wonder when that little boy in Tony's dream will come about? One other surprise was their not calling Jon or Danni to tell them about the engagement. I know they will be with them so may want to tell them in person, but I thought he'd call Danni since he'd turned to her/him (you've used both pronouns so I don't know which to use for ideas for the proposal. I wonder what will come with the Marjorie visit? I couldn't believe I'd reached the end of the chapters. I only caught this a few days ago, so I had a lot of reading to do. I've continued to enjoy it all this time.

Loving this story. missed it somehow. I like this cast as much as I like the twins and cast of vamps in the other one. I can't wait to see how they get over themselves and figure out what they have together. I think Craig is more put together and will sense the feelings or be willing to put himself out there (pun intended--hey he just almost did if not for Cade's interruption!!) I want that convo to continue b/c we were just about to learn more about these characters and more importantly, they were about to learn more about the person they were closest to all their lives. So, I hope they get to continue it soon, over the course of finding this bastard. What is he after and how was his ability not known? Was his daughter's death a fluke or did he have something to do with it and why did he decide to head over to the vamps community? Should be a great story. I hate having to wait week to week for these updates on the good ones, but i'm sure it will be worth it. Hope you keep up that balance of moving the story forward and limiting 'filler' info that is needed so the short briefs chapters are satisfying enough. it's a talent that you seem to have.

I find it funny that you named the bully the same name as your name on here...how did that come about ? anyway, the story is good so far...I do think it unlikely though, that the hunters would okay a boy who is on his first kill, go for the alpha of the pack. if it were so easy to kill an alpha, I would think the adult hunters like Brett's father would have done so. that seems like an unrealistic goal. hope the kid gets his ass handed to him. I am wondering where Jordan is on the hierarchy in the pack? I'm surprised that it isn't okay to mate with a human if a human can be turned. hopefully you'll tell us why. I did see a few place where notes from proofreading were left in, just so you might wanna check for that next time. look forward to more of the story. I hope that Jordan and liam have a good time together. I think they'll be cute together, and we don't know much about them so you can let the characters be developed as you have them get to know one another.

I've been enjoying this story a lot over the last two days. Today I was really lazy and reading it most of the day. Anyhow, I love the characters and how you show who they are in so many ways. You develop all sides of their lives while not making it dry or boring to hear about his job or schooling. it is a delicate dance. I am confused why Danni was referred to as 'she' for half the book, and then when Hunter is around it is 'he.' I don't see Danni changing for someone so if she wanted to be referred to by a certain sex before, why would she change when the man is in her life? I'm so happy for her too. She's a great character. I am so glad you didn't have us go through some long break-up over the thing with Keith. I love how this couple deals with one another. I am glad Marcus' father accepted him. he deserves the happiness after all those years pining after Tony. What a tortured place to be, the best friend when you love someone. I can't wait for more of the story. I'd love to see a bit of Marcus at work. If Tony wanted to go see him in action but I see the story is written already I believe. Great stuff!!!

glad to see an update on this. It was really great. I love how you made all these guys who all are invested in Mick, work it out. I love their different personalities playing off one another. I think Guy was sweet to be willing to see the other two touching and even having sex with him, which would have probably resulted in his wolf coming out to play, just to make sure he was safe. I think it was sweet of Takashi to bring him into it when I am sure he'd have been happy to finish things off for Mick. I'm really intrigued by this group and look forward to seeing how it all plays out. It's got me sucked in. I'm glad he found a way to numb out the pain in a much more fun and safe way than cutting. I'd love to know more about what Takashi is. he seems very old and very powerful. it would be interesting to know more about him and his abilities outside of the bedroom Mick is a dummy though. instead of just having his scary lovers teach lester that he better stay away, he is going to put himself in danger. ugg. And we still have to find out more about Mick's origins and his powers that might come out. I wonder how much at risk he is with his abilities being known so widely. Do any other fae suspect he isn't human? great story...keep it coming!!

I didn't know him personally, but of course saw his posts. I loved the picture of him and his dog. I am sorry for those of you who lost a friend. May he rest in peace. I pray cancer is beaten someday soon.

I agree with the others that the emotions swirled around me as I read...you did a great job of making the reader feel the emotions the characters felt, especially Luke. I agree that up until now, Luke has been lucky and had a good time of it and losing his brother and possibly his boyfriend, as well as a long time friend is going to be rough. I don't like how Erie acted. Implying that Luke would be capable of hitting him b/c he hit Jim was unfair and a big jump. Luke was also unfair in his comments about his brother's death. He can't 'shoulda, woulda, coulda' and though it is easy to do in this situation it's not fair to anyone. Yes, it seems like such an easy way to prevent such a tragedy...if he hadn't gone out on Thanksgiving, his brother would be alive. That is something that is going to run through his brain b/c humans like to think we have more control over events in our lives than we do. It's going to take time and love to help him out of his pain. I think Erie did wrong by adding to it rather than understanding that his boyfriend is dealing with a lot and let it come out wrong. I hope they patch it up. I just feel bad for luke b/c jame will be at his door or at school tomorrow and be all over him! That skinny little cheerleader is scary when riled lol. I have to wonder if Erie has regrets about how he dealt with the bullies at his old school. Jame said he had to go along with it ...did he act like them so as to stay in the jocks' circle? That would be disappointing to hear, esp since one of the people bullied was his brother. I'm surprised he may have dealt with it that way. Jim is a douche and I can't believe his coach acted like he did. Moreso, why didn't teammates come to Luke's defense? I think Jim goaded him to get him to hit him so that it would be something they could get him in trouble for. Him hurting a teammate may be a way to get him off the team if his sexuality isn't. That was very amusing when he ended up shirtless again outside of the locker rooms. Sounds like a yummy sight for the girls.

I think they all intervened a bit too much. I possibly understand telling Tony what Steve had done and Tony had a right to deal as he wanted, but they didn't let steve even talk to him. I agree with the mom. They all did keep throwing Steve out, where unless Tony asked for help getting away from him, they should have butted out. I think Jon is a bit off kilter too. His mom had apologized for her actions. she proved she meant what she said by telling them Steve's plan. she had a right to say what she did. I agree that they were using their anger to fuel Tony's upset and that isn't right. They were interfering in fate's decision just like his mom said. And Jon disowning her for her opinion was a bit ridiculous and extreme. they had the right to tell Tony what happened, but it should have been done with Steve there. He had acted like a douche, but maybe fate was going to send him a mate who could make him a better person. I do think it is funny that his mate is a wolf. I'm not sure if he realizes it, though he should with Tim saying he is tony is his friend. I'm disappointed in how the boys acted. Tony was a bit rash too, not even letting himself meet his mate. I feel badly for them. I hope Jon calms himself down. he is going to suffocate tim with his need to keep him from any unmated males. why is the drive to do so, so strong for him? doesn't he trust his mate? I hope that people will not miss the story ending due to the change of title mid-story. they may not read the description.
