Epilogue -- Christmas Eve Eve
Geemeedee commented on Dayne Mora's story chapter in Epilogue -- Christmas Eve Eve
I just woke up in the middle of the night and read this. I loved it for the reason Graeme gave in his second paragraph, and I hated it because of the cliffhanger of Cory coming out and it not going well. Now wondering how "wild" Cory Card will get. I seriously hope you have the first chapter of the next book ready to go. Oh, and you're a writer with so much talent, it's sickening. -
Bummed Corey acted like that, but it's true to the way you've written his character. Jason's responses make sense as well. I'm assuming that's the ex who dumped him at his door?

Ohmygod, the RELIEF I felt when I saw this wasn't the end!! WHEW. I was like, "but ... his mom. France ... Heroin-free ..." Thrilled to know there will be more of these glorious characters and your fantastic writing. Thank you.
-
Very sweet chapter. I was relieved Kye was brave enough to admit his feelings. The interactions between them feel natural. Great job! I look forward to seeing where you go with them from here. Like lux_apollo, I can't wait to find out what happened at Huxley's.

In Which We Have Breeders for Dinner
Geemeedee commented on Dayne Mora's story chapter in In Which We Have Breeders for Dinner
I love these characters and your exhilarating writing style so. fucking. much. It's a cruel world that won't let you do this full time and make piles of money for it. Reading your stuff makes me so happy. Thank you. *goofy grin* -
Totally believable, and I love that the moms were in on it. :0)
-
Maybe I'm missing something, but why can't they be together? If it's a procreation thing -- hello, surrogate? I suppose it'll take being apart before they realize they have to be together, as life partners and healer partners.
-
That is gonna be one little museum I would love to visit!

DRAGONS. *swoons* Since he has been drawn to them his whole life, maybe he's part dragon? I kinda want there to be a war, so that we can see all the Lycan types ban together and fight. But I know that's selfish of me. LOL
-
I'm curious about how much more you have planned for this fascinating tale. You left doors open for visits with new friends, the new Lycan council, the investigation of corrupt packs, Aiden and Ethan's Alpha training, the possibilities of elementals, Sebastien's pack, Dorien's poisoning, the readers' suggestion of Trevor ... You're at 46 chapters now. If you aren't coming to an end soon, have you considered breaking the overall story down into segments, like Book One, Book Two, etc.?

Great story with a great ending. Like jaysalmn, I was smiling the entire chapter. My only complaint is that it's over. I hope you start a new tale soon.

I'm intrigued by the characters, but I wonder if this is the right format to tell such a tale. The story's conceit is taking a longer than usual time to form (in my opinion) because of these short weekly chapters. And maybe I'm an outlier, but every week I have to go back and read bits of earlier chapters to remind myself of the story's terms and mythology -- a mythology I still am not grasping. It's the first time I've had this issue with your Wednesday briefs. Maybe I should wait a few weeks and read several chapters at once?

You were right to put all this action in one chapter. But after a week and a half, I'm surprised Liam isn't close to having a breakdown. The longer a kidnapped person is gone, the more likely it is that they're dead. I would think he'd be more afraid of finding a body at this point. Also, does it really take that long to get phone records? It doesn't take that long on "Forensic Files," LOL! I'm VERY interested to see how you handle this going forward. How in the world could Galen want a relationship with the enabling boyfriend of the man who tortured him? How could Josh even look Galen in the eye knowing he was tortured mere feet away, and Josh refused to see the truth about Roger? And maybe now Josh will admit what ties bind him to a sexual sadist?
-
I've read all 17 chapters over the last two days. Great story! I have two questions. 1) Why do they have salads every. damn. meal. when Josh cooks? Like, is that a cultural thing? Don't folks get tired of salads? 2) Whenever Josh says some crazy shit like, "You know nothing about this!” why doesn't someone simply respond, "explain it to me, so I can understand"? Because his insistence on whasshisnuts needing him and his refusal to believe it when the man is hitting on other people RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM is effing insufficient. To me, it's the weakest part of the story. As for Galen, well, he's being sexually assaulted and tortured. (It's in the story notes.)

I've enjoyed the characters, but if there's no plan for a sequel, this is an unsatisfying ending. Mark shoving down his hurt and beating himself up made the story feel unfinished. Also, it's hella short, like you either just wanted to be done with it or you didn't have adequate time to devote to it.

Congrats on a great series! I loved the extended family of friends Nick and Sam created for themselves. I look forward to your next story.
-
Sorry, I can't be as eloquent as the first two right now. I just want to scream like Cory, "don't stop! don't stop!!" I'm really gonna miss these characters.

Obviously Trey feels like Mark is staying with him out of sense of obligation. I'm sad that the last chapter is next, because you'd have to wrap up a lot of plot lines in limited space. I was hoping that this chapter would work through Trey's insecurities, and the last chapter would be more ... forward-looking? Ah well. I've enjoyed the guys nonetheless. Jackie was the story's only stumble, in my opinion. Her actions were bizarre, and the explanation was unsatisfactory.

Who knew I would enjoy Lycan politics so much? I cracked up when the Southern Alphas were all, "NOPE" to the idea of shifter mixing. (I'm from Alabama, where you have to laugh to keep from crying sometimes when it comes to race relations.) I expected John to be nominated as president; that would leave the Alpha role open for Aiden and Ethan to step in. It feels like this story is drawing to a close within a handful of chapters. Am I right?

I read the entire series up til now pretty much in one day (I DID have plans yesterday, but oh well when I started reading). I enjoyed watching Russ start to grow into the man he was meant to be. Also, I was relieved to see you've committed to write this through the wedding, not only because I want to see" the wedding, but because I'm convinced their dad still has some crazy move left to pull. Wouldn't be surprised if he tried to kill the twins, since they're the "abominations" who took his family from him. Like Lit, I think Jacob is great, but I'm all about Chris. The man *has* to be in love to put up with that ball of energy and drama! I hope we get the story behind the ring that was supposedly still in the states when it showed up on Evan's finger. ... Umm, I don't suppose we could have a prequel of Chris's earlier stint as a Dom?
-
I'm sorry that this story is ending. I've enjoyed it so much! You've taken it in directions I never would've expected, especially after the "covert ops" way it started. I hope in your epilogue that you choose to go forward some years. I'd love to know how the kids turned out. Jorge and Gregory in high school, perhaps? Joseph settled into a career and relationship?
-
I'm the opposite of lux in that I don't feel sorry for Jason at all. I don't think he deserves another chance with Shane until he comes out and fixes his life ... and maybe not even then. Mitchell, it is a testament to your great writing that I am furious with and disgusted by a fictional character. :0) I am loving Paul, tho!
-
Wow. Very nicely done. What Jason did was horrible. Like, no-coming-back-from-that horrible. I feel for Shane. Seems like every time he finds happiness, it's snatched away.
-
I enjoy reading about mature characters and their romantic fumblings. Just because we get older, it doesn't mean we get any smoother! LOL The end of the chapter is so lovely. I hope you post again soon.
-
AUUUUGGGGHHHH!!!! You HAD to stop there?! I'm so glad you decided to finish the story. And I'm so sad there's only two chapters left.
