    Chapter 46

And Granger didn't even have to lie in order to defend himself. Now the Tsar will want to find and punish those who forged the letter, as well as the incompetent admiral.

    Chapter 45

At least they know the situation now, and Granger can try to come up with a solution, with Daventry's help.
  3. Well, at least everyone in the story seems to embrace the same level of stupidity in this situation, so they're going in the same direction. I shall not comment on this matter again, and I hope the P thing will now become a minor part of the story. I'm particularly disappointed in Nicola, who I thought was sensible and clever. I feel sorry for Nathan, who had his bath interrupted and his weekend ruined. But at least there will be another hot topic of gossip taking over the school.
  4. If Nathan can cheer up everyone in the house, Sue may be (even more) pleased she decided to let him visit.

    Chapter 5

I think Peter may be more upset at being ignored as insignificant than being physically pushed aside. It must have been obvious to him that Ryan didn't know or care who he was or what he had to say.

    Chapter 4

Yeah Ryan, go rescue Ben from the snappy crowd, and he may rescue you from your doubts and your parents.
  7. Reading @Thirdly's stories always makes me but they're also full of hot romance.

    Distractions

Ha, seems our demon is both clever and devious in dealing with all the corporate bullshit. Let's hope he can escape the office prison soon.

    Departures

Ohh - he's looking at the naughty books. He'll have to bring some home to console him after the manager's call.

    Chapter 43

Great to see that all the guesses of Jim needing to bite Sawyer to fix the problem were actually correct.

    Chapter 1

The reason they all felt so tired and strange in the South was because they existed in two places at once. And Kylara became quite unhinged.

    Chapter 1

He certainly has the right attitude towards impressing a dragon.

    Flying Together

Serves I'kut right for being so slow to decide about the hangings and trying to get as much time out of then for his marks.

    The Thick of It

Maybe S'brin will be a bit more careful after this. But I guess he cannot suppress his true nature for long.

    Troubles

I like how D'gar is so intelligent and have these insights which makes him more mature.

    Delivery Duties

Yes, it's interesting that green riders get special lessons on what to expect, but why don't the other colors get lessons on how not to hurt their partner.

    Cold Bargains

D'gar is a lot more sensible and caring than his mate.

    At Southern Weyr

At least T'bor is happy to work with F'lar in this matter, since he will get rid of his rival for Kylara. And of course no one should trust her with anything important.

    The Full Story

Just because we knew F'lar, F'nor and Lessa were decent and cared about Pern and the Weyrs, I can see why D'gar wouldn't know. And they can see the same and that he didn't keep it a secret for bad reasons, but tried to deal with it himself, as far as possible. And I be Ramoth will scare the hell out of his dragon too, and get the truth if necessary. Although - is it safe for Lessa to go between when she's pregnant and in the first trimester ? There was something about that in The Dolphins of Pern.

    Half the Story

Well, I think D'gar got the balance right between exposing F'drun's nastiness and keeping his word to his 'spy'. Also I loved the solution of keeping H'rek at Benden. Together with D'gar becoming Weyrlingmaster it might make F'drun a little more hesitant to go after them. Oh, and H'kel is absolutely right about Lessa loving to irritate R'gul, as payback for being such a hidebound idiot before F'lar took over.

    Visits

He did hear about the Masterharper Robinton being close with F'lar and Lessa, but the Gather was only one day, and D'gar hasn't had any reason to visit the Harper Hall.

    Opportunities

I hope D'gar's decision not to tell his weyrmate about F'drun's threats doesn't come back to bit him in the ass.
  23. Timothy M.

    Prejudice

To be fair, if F'drun is straight at the end of the Kinsey scale, being forced by his dragon to have sex with guys, because they cannot catch a gold queen, may not be much fun. Although, I believe another Pern fan fiction writer (DKlover) brought up the idea of having a willing Weyr female join the dragonriders in those cases, but only if the green rider had someone he wanted with him too. Still doesn't excuse him bullying and harming the green riders, because he somehow blames them. And he could just stick with having his dragon join queen flights and find a girl to be with - but then they probably won't have anything to do with him, and serves him right.
  24. Timothy M.

    Rescue

I like the way H'rek is both supportive and assertive when D'gar starts to blame himself. They're good for each other. I bet those boys are future brown and green riders.
  25. Well, F'drun is stupid as well as nasty. Forewarned is forearmed. I hope D'gar reports the isses with him and the young bronze weyrlings to Fnor.
