Well, maybe the episode will be mentioned in a later chapter, unless Mark thinks it too trite to include. After all, Nelson's behavior may not have been included in the first dispatches about the battle, so Granger may not learn of it until he hears the gossip in the fleet or at home.

As a Dane, I can actually agree with Granger's analysis of the Battle of Copenhagen, though I'm a little surprised he didn't seem to think much of Nelson's ability to trick the Danish Crown Prince, who foolishly did not check with his naval commanders before agreeing to a ceasefire. But perhaps it's because Granger does not want to think of Nelson resorting to 'dirty tricks' which Granger is too honorable to use. You avoided the most known part of the battle (Nelson placing his viewer in front of the blind eye). That has become a proverb in Danish: 'at sætte kikkerten for det blinde øje' meaning to willfully ignore orders or facts you disagree with.

If R'mart is clever, he'll use the chance to establish his control as Weyrleader and tell Bedella to shut up about what the old weyrleader did. Well done, D'gar, and nice to see the other riders appreciating his efforts.

I totally agree. D'gar only has to spend one day at Telgar to find out why they have so many problems fighting thread. I hope he stands up for the whole group and they support him. If noone listens, he should go back to Fort and explain to his Wingleader, who is at least sensible enough not to want to waste his men and dragons.

Ricky's dad is a coward and an idiot. He should have stopped Matt's father or at least followed him and rescued Matt somehow.

I'm glad D'gar and J'rud got into the same Wing and have weyrs next to each other. It's good to have a friend by your side in an unfamiliar place.

Zane made a good plan, but he was also lucky to meet someone like Fenix. I wonder whether he had planned what to do if a creepy guy tried to pick him up. The only sad part was the story about his gay colleague. He should have sued the heck out of the company, and Zane should have offered to be a witness. But maybe it's not too late ? Especially, if the story repeats when he comes out.

M'rell doesn't have much success, professionally or personally. He's a good guy and friends to D'gar, so I feel sorry for him, even if his lack of promotion is partly due to his own actions. I hope J'rud's friend from Benden decides to transfer, otherwise they really will be separated after the Pass ends.

How did I miss this story ? I'm glad I got pointed this way. Simon is something of a drama queen, but his friend has his back and should be a good influence and partner, now the misunderstanding is over with.

Still not keen on Jared, but I guess he's trying to learn from his mistakes. But he can shove his smug teasing and cleverness where the sun doesn't shine. Derry is getting better and better at understanding and helping Jack. I like his honesty and kindness.

I'm with Jack all the way. Ask me direct questions and don't leave me guessing. Derry is learning quickly and he's great for Jack, both in relation to art and forgetting their Luke crush. Are we supposed to feel sympathy for Luke ? I feel more sorry for the guys he dates. And Jared the Jerk tells his brother he and Kack would be a good couple, after the chance has gone. Plus he never thought how his anger with Luke made Jack feel. Do either of the Benson Boys even know their best friend at all? Derry worked it out after three sessions.

So nice Jack promises to meet up with Jared, who needs some friend time in order to get up the courage to tell Lauren he's breaking up - because he doesn't have the guts to call her on bad behavior. What a loser - he expects to find the perfect girl and working on a relationship is too hard. Jack's parents are not as bas as he thinks, even if his mom drinks and his dad works all the time.

Yeah, so Jared the disloyal friend throws Jack a crumb of attention, takes over the private phone conversation, butts in on the drawing sesssion (even he realizes that was uncool), makes Derry go to Lauren's stupid party, after he already forced Jack to go. I'm really hoping Jack tells Jared to fuck off at some point. The nice part was the talk with Derry afterwards and Jack getting his head around the crush-on-Luke matter. Since I can't leave two likes on the chapter, I'll give you a here for that ending.

So Derry, who Jack sort of kissed and dismissed, is already a more understanding and interested friend than those stupid Benson boys.

Why does Jack feel he's to blame ? I think he has every right in the world to feel let down by his so-called friends. They should be the ones to feel guilty, not him.

Uhm I'm confused. Who is Jared ? Is that another name for Luke ? Ah, no, they're brothers. I need to go and read Panic (again) before continuing with this story. BTW you can link stories by making them into a series. Okay I'm back after finishing Panic 1. This means I can go on with dissing Jared and Luke. But at least Luke confirmed Derry should say what he thinks and wants. Jack will tell him if he disagrees.

I like these chapters where we get to see everyday Weyr life and some clam and loving times fro D'gar and S'brin. Even if their dragons don't mate, they have a solid relationship (after that bad patch).
